Same here I love & carry my Shield .45 I decided to add a nice rubber Hogue grip to my Shield due to the rough stippling scratching my side during carry. Man I absolutely love adding that Hogue grip!!! Better recoil better overall control & much better comfort when shooting lots of ammo!!!!

Ball and hollow point. Freedom Munitions reloads. All 100% perfect. I will take the Shield 45. Oh and I paid $245 after rebate.
I have the Glock 36. It’s my carry gun while on my RoadGlide. I like how I can forget that I’m carrying. Not overly heavy or bulky. It performed flawlessly on the range as well. While in my car, it’s the Glock 20, 10mm. Maybe I’m just a Glock fan.....idk
Never owned a Glock and I don't want one although I just bought a M&P Shield 45ACP Performance Center with a ported barrel. All I can say is its awesome, very accurate and hardly any kick for a 45 this is one sweet gun and looks better than a Glock.
Terry Sprey That is a good point. You can buy the Performance Center model for the price of the Glock and have an even better trigger, porting and the option of fiber optic or night sights
just bought a shield 45 I liked it because the way it feels in my hand nice and slim and it will be one of my carry weapon easier to conceal then my Kimber 45
Just picked up the Shield 45 no manual safety at my local shop for $409. Went to the range and put 100 rounds through it. Very happy with it. Be wearing it daily when my holster and spare mag carrier arrive.
I've had my Glock 36 for about 5yrs. Very happy with it. I have large hands and none of the finger grooves fit. So I took a dremel and took them off after looking at several others on you tube. Looks great and feels fantastic.
Great video as always! True story: Two days ago I was in my local pawn shop and was looking at a used, but unfired Glock 36, on the verge of buying it. My friend who owns the pawn shop was at the other end of the counter making a deal with a guy wanting to trade some stuff in, (little did I know), to get the G36 I was holding in my hand...since I'm a regular customer and was already looking at it, my friend told me that the guy doing the trading wanted it, but said I had first choice on it...I thought about it, and said let him have it because I haven't decided 100% to buy it...turns out, one of the guns the guy traded in, to get the G36, was a mint condition Shield .45! 👍 I bought it, cheaper than the Glock, (don't get me wrong, I'm a Glock Boy), to go with my 9mm Shield Pluss 9mm...Lol, win win! But now I still want a Glock 36 too 😉🤣🙂🤪🤔🙄🤣🤣🤣
Back in 1993 my police department switched us to the Glock 22. Somewhere around 2011-2012 we then went to the M&P in 40. As a retired officer I have a G30 from 1997 in mint condition...it shoots ridiculously accurate and I love it and would never get rid of it. I must say though, it is thick and other companies have caught up to Glock in many ways. I was on the verge of buying a G30S or G36 to have in addition to my G30, but to my surprise I walked out of the store with a S&W M&P Performance Center Shield 45acp. It simply is more ergonomic, slimmer and in this version from the performance center is loaded with tons of features that go beyond the Glock. Finally, it has the exact reliability and accuracy as the much bigger G30. S&W has obviously studied the good, the bad and what it is that customers want in a ccw 45acp. We have to be able to admit when another brand is doing something well or better than the brand we are loyal to. For me personally, I believe that Glock as the primary originator of the polymer pistol has not improved their guns since the 1980’s significantly enough to keep up with the wants of customers...other than being soooooo damned reliable in a basic sense. The Generation 3 is considered by many to be the best version of Glock, with the Gen 4s having had problems and many not caring much for the gen 5s. The only new gun that Glock has produced that I really like and now own is the G42 in 380. I believe that there was a true need for a gun this small not to mention Glock owners waiting for decades to finally have this gun in the U.S.. I own four Glocks; a G27 from 1995, and G19 gen 4 in flat dark earth along with my new G42 and G30 from 1997. But mannnnnn.....that S&W PC Shield in 45 ACP is really something!! I got away from S&W for a while, but currently it’s the only S&W I now own, because of what I mentioned earlier about other companies catching up and passing their prior products. For now, I still like certain Glocks, Kahrs (K9, MK9, PM9 &P380) and in revolvers I only have the LCR 357 and the Kimber K6. Good video and comparison my friend...your videos are now in my opinion the best and are a good mix of demonstration and information and always very accurate. W
My local gun store had the .45 Shield on sale for $419. Everyone bought up the no safety models. They had a bunch of thumb safety models left over and no one was buying them, so they discounted them down to $369 and they finally sold that batch. Once the hype dies down i'll probably pick one up next year when they stay below $400.
Dan... thank you for your e-mail replies. I reposted the comments. I saw a dealer on GunBroker auctioning several dozen starting at one cent. I was able to purchase mine for $360. A few sold for as low as $333.The seller had both with and without the manual safety. The seller also had no C.C. fees and his shipping was only $15 dollars. Shoot lots and stay safe.
I'm glad I found this video, Dan. I've been thinking about a .45 for some time to compliment my Glock 21, and I think that the Shield .45 might be the way to go on this (before a Glock 36 or 30). The reliability seems to be the same, the Shield is a tad thinner, and it's quite a bit less expensive.
My 45 Shield is my edc favorite. Pearce grips makes a finger extension for the 6 round mag. Hyve makes a +1 for the 7 rounder. Add Ameriglo I Dot Pros and Talon grips to make it body friendly and you have a very good little 45. It'll do just fine. Great 45.
My EDC is a M&P Shield .45 I added a Hogue grip and man what a world of difference!! I am going to replace my old sights soon. I just wished S&W made a bigger capacity mag for the Shield .45
I just got the M&P 45 Shield today, and I am excited to carry that over the full size 40 S&W that I have been trying to conceal carry LOL I'll be carrying the shield most of the time but I will still carry the full size 40 S&W when I go to larger stores like Walmart for certain obvious reasons.
Just got my NTS 45 Shield and I'm impressed! I had the 9 and 40 Shields and just could not get over the feel of them. They were earlier models and I had heard l and handled, newer ones and almost ready to give them a chance again. But back to the 45. Great pistol, easy shooting, natural pointer. What I wish SW did or will offer soon: 1) I think the crazy slim grip could have been widen just a few fractions of an inch and the magazine staggered a bit more and 7 or 8 rounds could have fit. 2) SW offers the 9 and 40 in this size! Just feels right!
TheFireArmGuy my manners are absent! Great video, love the channel! I first picked up my 45 Shield, my eyes opened wide. Feels awesome, maybe just a tad too thin (Talons on order!). Never had the 9/40 Shield feel that good. And I can shoot "with just two fingers", you know the short handed weapons like the Baby Glocks, XDS, Mustang, TCP, LCP, etc. But never could get the 9/40 Shield to work for me, was bummed because a lot of coworkers carry the Shield 9/40. But man, if they ever come up with a 9mm/40SW chambered Shield in the 45s sized frame....sweet! A slightly staggered magazine (if it can be done, SW please try!) with a capacity to rival the Baby Glocks. Well so much for dreaming, but that's on my Christmas list. Take care and be safe!
Got the G36 for $400 out the door. It was love at first grip and after 2yrs. hasn't changed. Great video and I like the looks of the Smith but just haven't had the urge yet.
For a 45acp I picked the Glock 30S , 36 slide on a 30 frame and 10 round magazine. The better option in my opinion , plus shields for some reason just don't thrill me.
Dan, you picked two perfect firearms to compare. I rarely hear anyone mention the G36 and they are great guns. Nice to see it go head-to-head with the new kid on the block.
I'll take the .45 Shield all day long. It's more accurate than a gun that size should be. Even out to 50 to 60 yards. The recoil is totally manageable, as well. Nice comparison Dan. Keep 'em coming brother.
HOLY $h1T! Someone finally compared the .45 Shield to the Glock 36! Thank you sir....I am Subscribing to your channel and looking forward to your future videos. Thanks for making this comparison vid.
Great review I am one of those glock 36 owners I remember when it came out and oh so many didn’t like it. I went the other way and haven’t looked back I use the 36 as my bed frame gun I use those magnets not sure of the brand but they work period. As far as the shield I haven’t bought a .45 yet but I do own the .40 and a 9 and I’ll never sell either both have run flawlessly and I run everything but steel case and have yet to have any failure. The only thing I did was put apex carry triggers in both my shields and the glock was a pawn shop save it had night sights on it other than that stock and again my kids will inherit it.
this is one of the few glocks that have not alot of aftermarket goodies...all ive found for mine is night sights and a plug for the magwell .. very few parts out there for this guy
I got the SHIELD 45acp with stock SMITH@WESSONS stock night sights which are trijicons tough and brights model. Bought in JULY 2020 for $550. 3 mags. (1) 6+1 and (2) 7+1. I also have the SHIELD in 9mm aswell. Carry the 45acp daily!!!!
I had a 45 Shield 2.0 but later traded it in for a new G36. The Shield is a nice gun and hard to beat for the price, but I can’t seem to get along with the hinged trigger. I am used to my other Glocks, so the G36 was a no-brainer. My only gripe is that they could have upgraded it to the Gen 4 grip texture, at least.
Between the Glock 36 and the Shield 45 I’d pick the Shield 45, but I’d chose the Glock 30 over any of the three. The Glock 30 is 10+1 in 45ACP for the win.
Randy Wittmann - Be careful of those low boars - they have a nasty habit of slipping under the fence and biting your legs. You don't routinely wear shorts, do you? Oops, my bad! You meant, "bore".
I wonder if you get sufficient ballistics out of the Shield. It's such a short barrel for .45 ACP. I just picked one up for $225 brand new from Palmettostatearmory (after $75 rebate from Smith).
Glock 36 gen3 much better than S&W Shield 45acp it just looks Cheap and Service dept is just impossible to get them for anything so that's why Glock is number 1💯👍
I just looked at a 36 in my local gun shop and yours has the exact same thing I can't get over with those guns and why I didn't buy it. The slide always looks out of battery compared to the frame I hate that makes the gun look bad to me good vid though keep em coming
Love my Shield 9 but the jury is still out on the 45 for me. I just like a full size gun in 45 cal more in line with a 1911. It's a good looking hand gun for sure.
I had to file down the thumb safety because it was cutting into my thumb when shooting it. a Dremel and some sand paper fixed the issue. I don't use the thumb safety but when I bought it they were hard to get and my local gun shop only had one so I jumped on it. Not disappointed.
m&p for the win. Going on 800 rounds FMJ no failures not one failure to feed eject light primer strike I'm not exactly keeping up with the maintenance either kind of a long-term torture test and the new stippling is amazing in the way it reduces the felt recoil of a 45 ACP as compared to an original 1911.
Dan to answer your post from 3 week ago, I haven't made any videos in quite a while. I started a new job last year which has kept me pretty crazy busy. Which is a good thing, I like the job and it's very busy. Plus in February of this year I had a major stroke, been in rehab since then. I hope to get back to work at the end of September. I'm recovering very well, as a matter of fact, better than most of my rehab counter parts!! Some of them are as much as 30 years younger than I and some of them can't form a full sentence and or have some type of parallis!! My prayers are mostly for them after I thank God for my great recovery!!!! I'm now a non-smoker and my BP is under control!!! I can speak fine and have full control of all my limbs!! Thanks to my wife who told the doctors to do whatever was nessary to save me from the worst!! She is the BEST!!! Love your channel keep up the great videos!!
I grew up shooting revolvers. trigger weight doesn't bother me at all, and most people I know don't care about trigger weight so much as how smooth the trigger pull is. a Ruger GP100 trigger pull (in double action) is about 8lbs (give or take based on how much it's been fired) but it's smooth. Glock trigger pull tends to be gritty or squishy (until you get it worn in or until you do a polish job or replace trigger parts) my G19 has a ghost rocket 3.5lb trigger connector (I think it's the rocket, it's the one you have to modify to work, but I've had it in there for 4+ years) and a NY 8lb spring on it. the trigger pull is about 7.8lb last time I check. but it's so smooth and you don't get that "stop" before the break. upped my accuracy with it quite a bit! I have yet to shoot an M&P shield in any caliber so I can't comment on how those feel. guess the choice would come down to what a person wanted to be able to accessorize their gun with and what brand they prefer
Well I bought the S&W. It had to go back for some issues; very hard to rack the slide (it was scraping the brass ammo somewhere from under the slide and also making a gouge in the brass from the ejector), slides didn't always fully go back into position and a few Failure to feeds. Just got it back. Didn't take it to the range, but I still see the ammo being scraped, also now the trigger bar so you don't have to pull the trigger when field stripping doesn't engage.I guess back it goes again. Any thoughts?
Thumbs up! I’ll take the M&P, love the lifetime warranty. If I was to buy the Glock, I’d get the 30. More rounds and the ability to run larger back up and range mags from other models.
Another great video bro! I actually got to handle the new Shield the other day and I really liked it! might have to be an upgrade to my Shield 40 at some point.
Shield 45 is my choice. I like the thumb safety on a striker pistol. It's also not as bulky as a Glock with a better trigger. I don't use lights on guns. I use with a flashlight.
I’ve watched your channel a while now and I just wanted to say thank you. I really appreciate every review you do . Very informative. Thank you from a Texas patriot to another 2nd patriot
WAS WATCHING A OLD VIDEO OF YOURS. GLOCK 36. VS M&P SHIELD IN 45. HAVE THE 36 CARRY IT FROM TIME TO TIME. RIGHT NOW AM CARRYING WALTHER PPS M2. AM DISABLED NOW DUE TO WORK ACCIDENT. WOULD LIKE YOUR OPINION ON THE MP EZ. IN 9MM. ONLY BECAUSE 36 IS A BIT HARDER FOR ME NOW TO RACK AND CARRY. WAS ALSO THINKING ABOUT GETTING A REVOLVER. LOVE THE CHANNEL. ITS RIGHT TO THE POINT..
I bought a 36 when the They came out many years ago. now mine has a 2 1/2 pound trigger. Used to be one of my main carry gun's. Until I went back to the.357 mag wheel gun.
Why buy a glock and spend more money to customize it to fit your hand better and add better slide release, trigger connector, mag extensions, mag release, trigger undercut, and the list can go on forever. Point is after market business can make your glock a good gun after all. That being said if you buy a glock it fits your hand and is reliable like we know they are buy night sights and call it a day then glock works for you. But all these glock boys buy a glock and dump stupid amounts of money into them.
I think you answered your own question. They buy the Glock because they _can_ do all those customizations. Aftermarket support for Glocks is insane. The G19 is the Honda Civic of guns. It's not the best, but the level of customization is unparalleled. For the record, I do not own nor plan on ever owning a Glock. I actually plan on building a Polymer80 compact by using all 3rd party parts, just to have a "Glock" without a single Glock part in it.
600 bucks after tax to buy a glock that needs add ons to improve it doesn’t make any sense my shield 45 has better sights and trigger right out of the box but hey they do give you a plastic box thanks glock I’ll stick to my well priced ready to go USA made gun anyway!
Just hate the idea of Mags holding so little Ammo...Anything out there compare to these 2 guns that holds more ammo FireArmGuy?Within same $ range?Thanks..Love the videos!
Both are great guns and I have owned both. The Shield would drive nails, same as Glock. But the Glock to me feels better built. I currently own the 36, but wouldn’t hesitate to buy another Shield.
I carry a glock 36 and have fairly large hands and don't have any problems, for the $500 price range I would like to see glock have upgraded slide release and better sights, but I picked up my 36 for $350 brand new so I made out way ahead to be picky picky.
I have a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm and I have a Glock 23 !! I shoot the Glock 23 better because of the site radios my questions to you which one of this pistol's shoots better ??
Have you ever done a review on the 30s? Thinking about it or a 36. I have a used 36 at the shop I work for, just can't make up my mind on which I want? I like the capacity of the 30s, but I can get the 36 for several hundred bucks less.
No mention of HEIGHT and BORE AXIS -- the first is critical for concealment and the second is a good indicator of how much muzzle flip and felt recoil will effect followup shots. The Glock seems slightly shorter and has a much lower bore axis.
I have had issues with my 45 shield and my 357 sig s&w compact. I replaced my 357 sig with a Glock 33 357 sig, my first Glock and I are to say while I won't be replacing my 9 shield or my 40 compact or 40 (soon to be 357 sig FDE s&ws but I think I'll be buying Glock from here on out. And maybe sig.
XD full size, XD mod 2 Subcompact, Armscor 3.1, Para Ordnance P-12 all in 45 ACP. Most are pocket carry pistols. Plus too many 9mm to list 🤔 Can never have too many pistols 😳🤓
Great comparison. I love the fact you can do a thorough review in under ten minutes. Most reviews are 20-30 minutes and they lose me half way through.
Thanks Gregg. I try to move quick
I own both the glock 36 and shield .45, I carry the shield daily. It's thinner and easier to conceal than the G36.

Jerry Howell Thanks so much. Great thoughts
Yeah, I really am digging the 45 Shield! I'm just going to start saying, "Add it to the list!" lol My list is long.
My list is long too shango
I just ordered a 45 shield today, can't wait to get it and hit the range.
I hope you love it bud
Got the G36 for $400 out the door. It was love at first grip and after 2yrs. hasn't changed. Great video and I like the looks of the Smith but just haven't had the urge yet.
The G36 is a great choice Wesley
Wesley Kish I tried Smith I just don't like them.
For a 45acp I picked the Glock 30S , 36 slide on a 30 frame and 10 round magazine. The better option in my opinion , plus shields for some reason just don't thrill me.
Great way to roll with Glocks Ron - thanks man
Glock 30s for the win!
Great channel and reviews man
I appreciate that!
Dan, you picked two perfect firearms to compare. I rarely hear anyone mention the G36 and they are great guns. Nice to see it go head-to-head with the new kid on the block.
Thanks pinkie. Many guys wanted to see the differences
The M&P Sheild 45 is awesome...I thought the recoil would be to much be it is not..Very smooth shooting.
I'll take the .45 Shield all day long. It's more accurate than a gun that size should be. Even out to 50 to 60 yards. The recoil is totally manageable, as well.
Nice comparison Dan. Keep 'em coming brother.
Much appreciated Mick
I own G36. love both weapons! they both kill
Both are great no doubt
I think I'd go with the S&W myself. Thanks for the share!!
HOLY $h1T! Someone finally compared the .45 Shield to the Glock 36! Thank you sir....I am Subscribing to your channel and looking forward to your future videos. Thanks for making this comparison vid.
Thanks bud. I do many comparison videos and general reviews.
Very cool Scott - thanks man
this is one of the few glocks that have not alot of aftermarket goodies...all ive found for mine is night sights and a plug for the magwell .. very few parts out there for this guy
Thats a good point racex
I got the SHIELD 45acp with stock SMITH@WESSONS stock night sights which are trijicons tough and brights model. Bought in JULY 2020 for $550. 3 mags. (1) 6+1 and (2) 7+1.
I also have the SHIELD in 9mm aswell. Carry the 45acp daily!!!!
Great review
.. I bought the 45 Shield several months ago and am impressed by how soft it shoots...
Yes its a soft shooter and well worth the price
Talked with my local range the other day. They now have the Shield 45 in their rental case. I'll report how it shoots!!
Looking forward to your thoughts DJ
I had a 45 Shield 2.0 but later traded it in for a new G36. The Shield is a nice gun and hard to beat for the price, but I can’t seem to get along with the hinged trigger.
I am used to my other Glocks, so the G36 was a no-brainer. My only gripe is that they could have upgraded it to the Gen 4 grip texture, at least.
How do they compare shot ability wise
Between the Glock 36 and the Shield 45 I’d pick the Shield 45, but I’d chose the Glock 30 over any of the three. The Glock 30 is 10+1 in 45ACP for the win.
Great video as always !! How do they stack up against your Kahr 45?
Both are quite a bit larger. The PM45 is much smaller and lighter
+TheFireArmGuy I figured as much. I know the Kahr has a nice high grip and low boar axis so I was curious about the recoil on the Kahr
Now thats a great deal quinn
NEED to do a shooting comparison!
Glock 36 gen3 much better than S&W Shield 45acp it just looks Cheap and Service dept is just impossible to get them for anything so that's why Glock is number 1💯👍
Thanks Dan. I see you stopped in for a look.
Yeah for sure DJ. I noticed you havent made a video in a year
I just looked at a 36 in my local gun shop and yours has the exact same thing I can't get over with those guns and why I didn't buy it. The slide always looks out of battery compared to the frame I hate that makes the gun look bad to me good vid though keep em coming
Thanks Jordan
Love my Shield 9 but the jury is still out on the 45 for me. I just like a full size gun in 45 cal more in line with a 1911. It's a good looking hand gun for sure.
Nothing like shooting a 1911. I agree Deputy
Just got my shield. Can’t wait for range time.
Very cool Tom
Appreciate the video.. And thank you for loading the mags before weighing. Gun with empty mag means nothing to me.
I agree John - thanks
I had to file down the thumb safety because it was cutting into my thumb when shooting it. a Dremel and some sand paper fixed the issue. I don't use the thumb safety but when I bought it they were hard to get and my local gun shop only had one so I jumped on it. Not disappointed.
Thats excellent bro
m&p for the win. Going on 800 rounds FMJ no failures not one failure to feed eject light primer strike I'm not exactly keeping up with the maintenance either kind of a long-term torture test and the new stippling is amazing in the way it reduces the felt recoil of a 45 ACP as compared to an original 1911.
Very cool bud. Im glad its working well for you
I'm waiting on a Performance Center Shield 45 no safety please, excellent review
Al
Thats awesome Al. Send it to me for review ha
Once again I agree with you %100. I would carry the glock with confidence but would rather have the shield!
Good stuff brother - thanks
Im holding off for the Shield 9mm in the 2.0 style, im tempted to pick up a .45 but I got too many different calibers already!
The Shield 2.0 will be interesting if it ever comes around
Sorry to hear about that. I am glad you are recovering well. Thanks for sharing that with me DJ
Glock trigger pull tends to be gritty or squishy (until you get it worn in or until you do a polish job or replace trigger parts)
my G19 has a ghost rocket 3.5lb trigger connector (I think it's the rocket, it's the one you have to modify to work, but I've had it in there for 4+ years) and a NY 8lb spring on it. the trigger pull is about 7.8lb last time I check. but it's so smooth and you don't get that "stop" before the break. upped my accuracy with it quite a bit! I have yet to shoot an M&P shield in any caliber so I can't comment on how those feel. guess the choice would come down to what a person wanted to be able to accessorize their gun with and what brand they prefer
Thats some great insight - thanks Raging
Well I bought the S&W. It had to go back for some issues; very hard to rack the slide (it was scraping the brass ammo somewhere from under the slide and also making a gouge in the brass from the ejector), slides didn't always fully go back into position and a few Failure to feeds. Just got it back. Didn't take it to the range, but I still see the ammo being scraped, also now the trigger bar so you don't have to pull the trigger when field stripping doesn't engage.I guess back it goes again. Any thoughts?
I have no thoughts on the issue other than SW should have fixed it right the first time. I hope they do you right this time
Thanks, me too.
Thumbs up! I’ll take the M&P, love the lifetime warranty. If I was to buy the Glock, I’d get the 30. More rounds and the ability to run larger back up and range mags from other models.
Good point DJ
I'll take the M&P 45 Shield.
Great things on both. It all comes down to shooting them to see which one I'd choose! Decisions, Decisions. I remain Semper Fidelis!
Good stuff Luis. I agree about shooting them side by side
Owned both, and would prefer the M&P, plus it’s cheaper.
Great review. I think both are great options. It's hard to choose which one is best.
I agree Eric - thanks bro
TheFireArmGuy
You're welcome my friend.
Another great video bro! I actually got to handle the new Shield the other day and I really liked it! might have to be an upgrade to my Shield 40 at some point.
I wouldnt rush to get it bro. Prices re already dropping
I used to be a Glock fan but S&W and CZ are winning me over.
I agree Jared
jared lee CZ'sare awesome
CZ vs the world!
Does CZ have a compact 45? I too have been into there guns lately
What's the difference between the glock 30 & the glock 36?
The G30 will accept larger mags from the G21
Do you have a video shooting the two?
Wow thats a light trigger. Good stuff swatnc
Great review. Thanks
No argument with that comment
I think you answered your own question. They buy the Glock because they _can_ do all those customizations. Aftermarket support for Glocks is insane. The G19 is the Honda Civic of guns. It's not the best, but the level of customization is unparalleled.
For the record, I do not own nor plan on ever owning a Glock. I actually plan on building a Polymer80 compact by using all 3rd party parts, just to have a "Glock" without a single Glock part in it.
ytmndan exactly. Because they can
600 bucks after tax to buy a glock that needs add ons to improve it doesn’t make any sense my shield 45 has better sights and trigger right out of the box but hey they do give you a plastic box thanks glock I’ll stick to my well priced ready to go USA made gun anyway!
That hinged trigger though.. ughh
Some good guns as good info and I don't think you could go wrong with either...Good vid...
You are right Scott - thanks man
I've owned both. I much prefer my M&P .45 and my XDs .45 over the G36.
Just hate the idea of Mags holding so little Ammo...Anything out there compare to these 2 guns that holds more ammo FireArmGuy?Within same $ range?Thanks..Love the videos!
Yes MagGuts is working on expanding the capacity of the 45 Shield - th-cam.com/video/VnKmFTLSQ4o/w-d-xo.html
That Shield sure is a sweet looking gun.
No doubt chevy
I've never owned a pistol with a hinged trigger...what's your feelings about them cause it seems weird to me
FNS also uses a hinged trigger and I really dig that pull
thanks Dan the man
I have a 36 love it also had the shield and in 9mm then in 45 and 45 broke I had it repaired and sold it.
I was bummed like the shields
The no thumb safety Shield .45 is available, I saw one at my LGC. It's really a nice pistol, although I didn't get a chance to shoot one (yet).
Ok thanks David. I wasnt sure
Both are great guns and I have owned both. The Shield would drive nails, same as Glock. But the Glock to me feels better built. I currently own the 36, but wouldn’t hesitate to buy another Shield.
Great comment Kane
I carry a glock 36 and have fairly large hands and don't have any problems, for the $500 price range I would like to see glock have upgraded slide release and better sights, but I picked up my 36 for $350 brand new so I made out way ahead to be picky picky.
+partywithJdub Where did you get a G36 for that price? Must have been blue label
TheFireArmGuy a friend bought it, he never shot it and let me get it super cheap.
I carry the shield with a technaclip, its such a great setup for regular carry.
Very cool Chris
The shield line is very reliable and shoot very well for most people I have trained.
Good stuff D - keep training and educating bud
I have a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield 9mm and I have a Glock 23 !! I shoot the Glock 23 better because of the site radios my questions to you which one of this pistol's shoots better ??
The larger G23 would be more accurate for me
I think you misunderstood my comment !! what I meant is between the Glock 36 and the shield 45
Have you ever done a review on the 30s? Thinking about it or a 36. I have a used 36 at the shop I work for, just can't make up my mind on which I want? I like the capacity of the 30s, but I can get the 36 for several hundred bucks less.
Many guys like the 30s for the 10 rd mag but for hundreds less I would get the 36
G36, pre-rail is the way to go (for me)... I've got 2 of em'
Thanks man
No mention of HEIGHT and BORE AXIS -- the first is critical for concealment and the second is a good indicator of how much muzzle flip and felt recoil will effect followup shots. The Glock seems slightly shorter and has a much lower bore axis.
Good comment Rich - thanks man
Did you actually see the glock next to the shield?the glock is less concealable
I really enjoy my new shield 45, it's a great shooter! Carry On!
Good stuff Big Johnson
Can you do a short size compare of 45 shield vs your new Kahr PM45?
I have had issues with my 45 shield and my 357 sig s&w compact. I replaced my 357 sig with a Glock 33 357 sig, my first Glock and I are to say while I won't be replacing my 9 shield or my 40 compact or 40 (soon to be 357 sig FDE s&ws but I think I'll be buying Glock from here on out. And maybe sig.
Thanks Joe
Dan good comparison thanks.
Thanks Lou
Does glock work with LEGO for the baseplate for thier magazines ?
I don't have either but I am going with the g29 SF 10mm and g19 all the way I don't like the 45 caliber.
Ok, thanks Rodney
Hey man, I don't know if you saw it yet, but BigDaddyHoffman1911 mentioned you in his new Desert Eagle video. :)
Yeah I saw that. Thanks buddy
I saw the video and I don't remember him mentioning Dan.
PDIcomics It was about the Kahr Speed Shooting contest. We were neck and neck and I pulled ahead at the end
I like the shield better just as reliable lifetime warranty and I’m sure they have sold around a billion
I really love my Shield .40 so I have my sight on the Shield .45 down the road.
Prices are already dropping on them
Good deal.
They both look great
I agree - thanks bud
I own both. I do not like one more than the other. Both are great handguns!
I agree man
XD full size, XD mod 2 Subcompact, Armscor 3.1, Para Ordnance P-12 all in 45 ACP. Most are pocket carry pistols.
Plus too many 9mm to list 🤔
Can never have too many pistols 😳🤓
Very true Hon
