I’m 36, I’ll say one thing, this game is legendary, cs 1.3, cs 1.5 and giant leap is of course 1.6it united the whole world like Warcraft and Starcraft in their time
Man this game. Crisp movement, intuitive gameplay, good directional sound, no flashy skins or gambling. When the pro scene mostly played for respect not dollars, when cheating wasn't a huge issue.. Best days. CSGO is so crap compared to this beautiful masterpiece.
Cs1.6, Quake3, Unreal Tournament...Masterpieces in their own right. What astounds me the most, is how these developers back in the day managed to get this near to perfect balance of gameplay, and legendary maps. And they couldnt patch the games anytime they wanted, it all had to be calculated and "released", not to mention un-patched out-of-the-box game quality, which was very high. And they had no examples. CS was first of it's kind, so was Quake series. They hit all the nails on the head. Look at the development of games nowadays. They can patch it, micro patch it, there are endless technologies to be used in games, there are countless examples of other games fail/success stories, there is endless wisdom in game balance from last 20 years. And they cannot manage sh*t. Publishing companies to blame ? Greedy executives to blame ? Then don't go to companies where you will have no freedom, and you'll be forced by money to do things you dont want to. There is something about old games, perhaps their coding, that always feels crisp and lovely to just move your mouse around. Nearly every single new game, even at max fps feels like you're treading through mud.
Played for respect cause esports hadn't been anywhere close to established yet. My team would drive hours to tourneys just to break even if we won. And now we're all in our 30s getting de_stroyed in ESEA Open.

I still remember this movie by heart as I used to watch this when I was a young gun. Now 30+ and this brings me all the good memories of the OG CS 1.6 scene.
Amazing times! As a former CPL player, I am glad I was apart of the history. In my opinion CS 1.6 was the most perfected CS to date. Whilst I don’t blame Valve for trying to stay up to date with the newer versions. This one had the best gaming experience, simple but yet amazing!

the good old times. i remember there used to be a website where they were putting all the new frag movies and i was downloading with download accelerator or flashget cause torrent wasn't a thing and if you were downloading directly from a website you had no option to pause unless you were using those programs.
Good times from when I was 12 or 13 now I’m 37 and when it came out started playing in future shop and EBgames had it all started with half life then just in high school skipping classes just to play this at the library was so awesome back then. 😂❤ Will never forget this will never forget being a CAL-p and playing Cal-m with crazy team’s competitively loved it God bless everyone wish we could reunite like this again one day and maybe play like this maybe another game but I guess everyone now is busy in lives with bills and so on
Legendary frag movie used to get me pumped before playing. The younger generation will never get to appreciate this gamr which paved the way for CSGO/CS2

Today is 4th February 2023,I was just thinking about this CS 1.6 video in the morning and suddenly now in the the afternoon it came under "recommended videos". I will always wish for Counter Strike 1.6 to reall make a great comeback in PC or in Android phones. I do hope that Valve take a note of my comment and bring back Counter Strike 1.6 in both PC and in mobile phones.
The period I had playing 1.5/6 age 11 to 14 is one of select few periods of my life I'd happy to rewind everything on to do it all again. The pinnacle of competitive FPS gaming IMO - perfect gameplay and limitless replay ability. No game since has come even slightly close to being as good or having gameplay and mechanics close to original CS.
Counter-strike the best fps game ever made. I would like to think that somewhere out there in the multi-verse, there's an earth discovering this game for the first time. Please take me there!

qooqarecon Yes of course they have tournaments but it is nothing near to what we experienced a couple of years back in cs 1,6 which was at its best and cs go is just a manipulative game designed to make people buy higher graphic card else these peripherals company cannot survive which is why cs go was introduced. Im still sure a lot of people agree with me on cs 1.6 being the best when compared with cs go. .
