It took me a long time to decide on a new 125 scooter but in the end I went for a 2022 Medley S in black. I wasn't sure on the Nmax styling, too bulky at the front and the PCX's drum brake at the back a deal breaker for me. I nearly went for the Aprilia SR GT but only CBS!! What were they thinking. Piaggio Medley S, best combination of style, features and performance in my humble opinion.
Must admit, I do love a rear drum brake! Very little brake dust in and around the gearbox / engine. Easy to clean, and adjusts in seconds with an adjustable spanner. It’s still powerful enough to lock the rear wheel on the Liberty / Vespa Sprint and is incredibly easy to maintain.
@@Keef-cd9os I believe you can, but only if the drum brake is hydraulically operated, which adds further complexity. A lot of bikes with disc brakes front and rear seem to run combined braking instead of ABS. A rear slide is controllable, even by a novice. A front slide is the dangerous one. Even on cars though, there are pros for rear drum brakes - mainly that the brakes become tighter as they cool and secure the vehicle on a slope. With disc brakes, they become looser as they cool. The main negative for drums is that they take a longer time to cool down, so you wouldn’t have them on a sports bike.
@@Keef-cd9os no you can't have abs on a drum brake. Abs still won't stop you coming off if the breaks are slammed on around a corner. Which is what most beginners riders do.
Comparing this Liberty S to the previous Liberty you reviewed, I find that there are more than two seconds in the 0-100 test. ¿Did you notice this engine to be less powerful than the other? It's supposed to be the same euro 5 engine... Thank you.

What is the difference from the liberty 125 20’ the 21 has more power and torque and why did you upload it because you have already one with a Liberty ?
@@JDMz The i-get is still 3 valves. The Euro 4 to Euro 5 differences are quite subtle. Peak power is ever so slightly higher, but is also at higher revs. I believe it’s mostly changes to the exhaust but haven’t confirmed this.
It's easy. Just look where the dipstick is. Then go under neath and you will see the sump plug. Undo it. Drop oil. Refit sump plug along with a new washer. Tighten it back up but not over tight. As for spark plug. Get a spark plug socket. Undo plug. Refit new plug. Job done. Also be worth doing the gearbox oil. Brake fluid needs to be changed every 2 years.
@@majdichlegou8786 The reason it lights up BEFORE you start the bike is to show that the bulb works. Then it should go off when the engine starts. In the past, some people would try and damage the light if there was a problem with an engine - so it’s always good to see the light works and then it turns off!

A modern drum brake works fine, no problem with them.

The liberty s has a different motor. Where as the old one had 2 valves. The new iget motor has 4 valves. The liberty s has Bluetooth.
