  • Every waterfront property owner should consider owning a hovercraft! No need to build a dock, just skim across your yard and into the water effortlessly. You don't need to worry about algae buildup or barnacles. Tidal fluctuations, lake levels, or river gauge have no affect on your operations...even when winter comes and ices you in, you're still able to fly your hovercraft wherever you'd like to go! Your hovercraft is always at the ready; no mooring lines to hassle with. Just jump in, turn the key, and you're off.

    Excellent! This was an eye-opener for me. I had never thought about all the advantages compared with boat ownership. My dad owned a boat. He said the happiest two days in a boat owner's life is the day he buys his boat, and the day he sells it. :) Keep up the good work!

    BARRY PALMER IS A GREAT PIONEER NOT ONLY IN CONSERVATIVELY POWERED, HIGHLY EFFICIENT SEVS ( HOVERCRAFT), BUT ALSO ONE OF THE ORIGINAL DESIGNERS AND FLYERS OF HANG GLIDERS. VERY NICE MAN AND A GENIOUS. THESE CRAFT ARE BASED ON HIS ENGINEERING

    You just put a leaf mulching blade under that thing and you'll make millions. That's cool as hell. I got to build one of my own.

    Large skirt tears are rare, I've had 3 in the last 20 years. Smaller tears of about a 12" or less often go unnoticed until you put it on the trailer. A repair kit of Kevlar thread, a needle and awl are used to bring the fabric together until it is glued at home. Normal operation can be resumed once the fabric is brought back together. When you stop on the water the craft floats just like a boat. The hull holds air just the same as it holds water out.

    what happens when a log tears the bottom open? or you need to stop in the water?

    • @amphibiousmarineinc
      @amphibiousmarineinc  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We supply a kevlar-neddle-punch kit to stitch big tears, small ones do effect the operation. In 2000+ hours I've had to stop 3 times to do this.

      +Nathan JR (CheeseOverdose) The craft simply stops and floats far better than another boat its size. It is very light and wide after all.

      Modify to the job you want to do. Fiberglass or light material is best. You can sew fabric the reinforce with glue. It is fun to build

    Kinda noisy though

    • @amphibiousmarineinc
      @amphibiousmarineinc  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are you basing this on and comparing it to? It is less noisy than an equivalent jet boat, much less noisy than the majority of hovercraft. The noise level is nearly identical to a John Deere rider while cutting. I will say it is much louder than my tandem kayak.

    • @moenaguib2947
      @moenaguib2947 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fair enough, We used to have a local hovercraft manufacturer here in Kitimat BC, Canada. The man behind the company worked with me for several years. Noise was a constant complaint from people living along the lake. Today the sound from his machines pale in comparison to the Rap music from wake boats.

    • @amphibiousmarineinc
      @amphibiousmarineinc  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      I operated my business from Campbell Lake near Anacortes WA for 10 years. I never had one complaint. People were calling the police regularly about other jet skis, musical boats etc. At the same time I operated from La Conner doing tours and countless personal trips 3-4 a week, never one complaint about noise. I did get a complaint saying spray wafted on the wind and got on someones boat. I may have been the kinda boat that can't get wet though. A fellow got an air boat in La Conner and that generated countless calls until the engine blew. Yes, most hovercraft are noisy, but they don't have to be.
