I've had this kit on my 2003 2500 as part of a 4" NTB Cognito lift for four years. It's seen 60k miles and lots of rough terrain and finally needed some attention. The jam nuts on both brackets were gone! I had to replace them with Nylock nuts along with thread locker. I also had to replace the Cognito HD alloy tie rod ends as they had a fair amount of play. I love Cognito's engineering, it's very tough stuff!
when installing mine I kept getting worried that the sleeve nut on the idler arm there were so many threads left over after torquing it. I kept thinking something wasn't going on far enough. It looks like yours did the same thing so made me feel a little better. At about 7:40 into the video I could see that yours was similar to mine. Thanks for the video, this is much harder on your back in the driveway with no room to work with..... very jealous of your lift. Thanks again.
You mind taking a measurement of yours? Mine is the same way and would like to verify with measurements to make sure we are in the same ball park with numbers
I just did this on my truck today. Definately need a large wrench I believe the correct size for the steering box nut is 1 13/16th" or an equivalent metric size, only had a 1 7/8th" and it worked. For the idler nut it is I believe a 29mm. The only really issue I had was my idler wouldn't go up high enough to get the nut off while still in between the brackets it was bolted to so I had to pop it out which wasn't hard. The hard part was getting it back in once I had the braces on. The key was turning the wheels and truly making sure it is going in square...if it is cocked even a little (it will even look like it's straight) it will not go in, no matter how hard you hit it. Over all I'd say this was pretty easy. I'd say it was probably a 5 out of 10 on difficulty level. Good luck. Also thank you for the video.
Junk! If it was good for your front end GM engineers would have thought of it. It cost me $2K in repairs on a brand new truck. It prematurely wears out your idler and pitman arm.
@@saltysteel3996 sure you have, look I know cognito has someone here defending their product, you already have a like on your comment in less than 5 hours? Early in the morning? The fact is, it does happen, I looked at a few Chevrolet forums and found it did happen to other people not just me.
I just installed mine yesterday and my truck makes noise like it was an old truck. It has a binding noise and it squeaks when you turn or when you slow down to a stop sign. I'm going crazy. Need to know if I really need it. Cause I ended up getting it with my leveling kit.
Thank you for explaining everything step by step

Mines the same way. Thread lock, torqued, no issues. There's plenty of thread engagement for the rated torque and stresses.
Great video. Very well done....After looking at truck videos all day, this one rises up....lol Thanks for making it.

43mm is the big guy
I just used a big adjustable wrench, beat it with a hammer. Wax on, wax off, was easy. Did the job in 2 hours taking my time.
Thanks for this video. It makes me almost want to tackle this project... almost.
Me and buddy did it in 2 hours at an average pace. Not bad. Just used a big adjustable wrench on that 32mm nut. Everything else wrenches and sockets.
Excellent video, thank you!
7:28 wow, that nut looks PRETTY shallow in that ball joint stud!
people have been complaining that this hits can you show a clearance viceo
excellent video
how to tell what center link i have. 15 GMC Sierra 3500 6.6L LML?
Does this fit only the 2500 diesel or will it fit all of the GM gas? I E 13 chevy suburban 1500.
will this kit fit if i have a steering stabilizer installed.
Yup.

Yeah, never heard of this. Know of multiple trucks running this kit for years and years, no issues at all. Including my own.
