I was a big Killer Bees fan in the 80's. They were my favorite. Since you are correcting B. Brian Blair, I will do the same. Blair was talking about how the Killer Bees name came about. He mentions the name of Nick Buoniconti and the Miami Dolphins defense inspiring the name the Killer Bees. That era name was called, "The No Name Defense." That was back in the early 1970's. It was the 1980's era Miami Dolphins defense which would be known as the Killer Bees. It began in the 1981 season and lasted until the mid 1980's. They had members like (Kim Bokamper, Bob Baumhower, Doug Betters, Bill Barnett, Bob Brudzinski, Lyle and Glen Blackwood) to name a few. Sorry to correct you B. Brian Blair.
I remember when B.Brian Blair left CWF Florida in 1986, he lost a first blood loser leaves town match against Jesse Barr AKA Jimmy Jack Funk back then, then he appeared in WWF a couple months later
Killer Bees would of been a great WWF tag team Champs. Unfortunately they were lied to. Killer Bees were super talented. The colors and the masks were so cool. The Nike gym shoes were also cool and stuff. Bronzel had the greatest dropkick on those Rock n Roll era.
The post WWF, Masked Confusion was a better gimmick name. They were good but they were in fast company with the Harts, Rougeaus, Bulldogs, Studd & Bundy, Demolition, Strike Force or Can-am Connection, The Rockers, in 88 in came Tully & Arn. Those were the days of great tag teams. Never ever to be seen again. A shame.
I did not know that the Killer Bees were promised the belts three times. I read an article with B. Brian Blair years ago, where he said the Killer Bees were promised the tag team belts twice. He would know, because he was there. Anyway, I think I figured out the first time. It was probably around late 85 or early 86. The Dream Team (Valentine and Beefcake) had the titles and dropped them to the British Bulldogs at Wrestle Mania 2 in April of 86. The Killer Bees came together in mid 85. This was probably the first time they were promised the titles, and that chance was taken away for whatever the reason. The second time was more than likely in 87 right before summer. The Killer Bees defeated the Hart Foundation in a non-title match using Masked Confusion. The next week they were on Jake "The Snake" Robert's Snake Pit for an interview talking about their win. I was really excited. I was a big fan of the Killer Bees. The buzz kept going over the next few weeks on the Saturday morning WWF wrestling shows. As the summer came and went, I waited for the announcement for their title shot. Nothing happened until August. Mean Jean Okerlund was announcing upcoming matches at venues around the country. He said that the Killer Bees were finally getting a title match. I was excited, but knew in my heart that since this match was not going to be on television or in a big event, the Killer Bees were not going to win the titles. That time frame came and went, and nothing was said anywhere. The Hart Foundation still had the belts come that Fall. Years later I saw a wrestling magazine that said the Killer Bees lost the match in New York by pin. I think Vince McMahon black balled the Killer Bees over their testimony during the steroid scandal and the fact that they sued him over royalties related to their dolls. He screwed them and they sued to get the royalties, and I think they won. So, he more than likely took their shot at the titles away from them. I wonder when the third chance happened. Anyone know?
I saw an interview with Jim Brunzell where he said that the Killer Bees wrestled the British Bulldogs back in 1986 in Montreal Canada. The Bulldogs were the tag team champions at the time. He said the match ended in a time limit draw. I looked this up and saw it listed on some wrestling site that gave recounts of matches from each year. I had never heard of this before I saw this interview a few years ago. It is shocking it was never shown on video somewhere. I would have loved watching this match at the time. Heck, I would love to watch it today. Baby face teams almost never wrestled each other, so you would think this would have been recorded and sold somewhere. Does anyone have a copy or know where I can get a copy of this match? One of my older brothers was a big British Bulldogs fan and I was big Killer Bees fan. He used to tease me about the Bulldogs having the tag team titles, and the Killers Bees never having them. This match would have been war in my house at the time.
thanks for the story behind the Bs... No surprise the name came in BBRantford... lol. Another B . I enjoy any story about Brantford and wrestling, saw all the greats at one time or another cause alot of filming was done there.
I started to think the bees wearing masks was a mandella effect until i recently seen a picture of them in masks. Does anyone know the story as to why they wore masks for such a short time?
The Sheik says the B in Bees stands for ' boring' and they were killer because they bored you to death. The Sheik says this no talent, no gimmick having JOBBER JABRONI is always saying he was promised belts. The Sheik says this is bullsh*t and the Sheik will smack him again the next time he sees him.
Blair and Brunzell were a very good team.
Brunzell had the best drop kick in wrestling. Loved him in the AWA.
The dropsault
No, Paul Roma had.........
I used to agree until lance storm went to WCW and his dropkicks were 10/10.
I still have my killer bees tee shirt, got to see them live 3 times,Thank you for all your hard work.
I gotta thank Brian for aiding Mr. Wonderful with his final shoot interview.
Yea that was a tough one but I'm glad it happened
I'm going to assume Brian is talking about Lord Alfred Hayes and not Lord James Blears.
I was thinking the same thing

The Bees got a raw deal by WWF after 1987.
Word. Should've been given Lanny as their manager.Heel OR face. No reason given why they had no title win?
@@fredericbarclay7468 Neither did the Rougeaus, Rockers, Power and Glory
@@chadk890 the Mountie was 3 time tag team champion as the quebecers
@@r0ckstar666 Not with his brother that's my point
@@chadk890 doesn't matter. One of the Rougeaus, made it to the top

A favorite tag team of mine. Top-notch gimmick and ringwork for sure.
As a fan in the mid-80s I love when the killer bees put the mask on and switched places

Jimmy had the same dropkick at 50 years old, as he had when he was a high jumper...
Brantford or Bradford Ontario? I remember the house shows in Brantford. Wonder if that's what he meant? If so, easy mix up. Great interview.
Love the Bees! Always remember that win over the Hart Foundation on Superstars!

Yep I’m surprised WWE hasn’t come there in decades
If it’s Thursday Tammy(Sunny) must be in a nj jail
Killer Bees

WASSAUPPPP
Killer Bees. Mask Confusion.
Brunzell is 8 years older than Blair.
Who knew?
Lord Blears???????
Vince brought lots of people into WWE to take away all the wrestlers from other territories. He then buried most of those people.
Fyi Hannibal check out TMZ Sunny has been arrested again on felonies. Your next news story lol
