I love mules. After my grandmother told me the stories of her father and his mule team, the relationship that they had, I knew the only riding I wanted is a mule. Since then, over my life, I have talk to people who also love mules. One memorable story is of a lady and her husband, she had a mule, her husband had a horse. Whenever her husband tried to ride her mule there was always problems. It was never a partnership, which is required when you have a mule. On this particular ride, they came to a stream that they needed to cross. Her mule refused to cross, trusting her mule she gave him his head defined up location to cross. Her husband mocked her for having an animal that refused to obey. They plunged into the river, and was in trouble immediately. Thankfully they had the ropes with them and they were able to save the horse. But now getting it out of the water was a problem. Well it took was a helicopter and Lot of manpower to lift the horse out of the rug at territory. His injuries were severe. It was unable to walk out on its own. Needless to say it was a very expensive vacation. Trust in your mule and it will take care of you. If it doesn’t think you can do it or it is unsafe, they will not do it. It will always try it’s best to do what you wanted to do and ask of it, but it must be a partnership. Mules are not stubborn, they’re intelligent and not at all stupid.
I fully agree. I get attached to animals. Unfortunately I got attached to our freezer pig when I was 12 years old. My father was so upset about it that he made my brothers and I put him in the freezer when the time came. Farming is hard work.
@@phillipff9923 I didn't eat pork for quite a while. About 15 years or so. Then I only had bacon occasionally. For the last 10 years no pork at all......😊
How much I agree with that... every day I will miss my horse. No one can replace him. Sadly for me the rainbow bridge came into our lives a little to fast. Never get rid of your best ride and best friend.
He’s young! He’ll learn the hard way! This may be his once inna lifetime mule! No amt. of money can replace that! Plus his wife (sorry, don’t know any names), likes her, too, and is SAFE on her!
What I love most about her is her personality! She’s so cute and she’s so willing. She reminds me of my hackney horse haviah who was 14.2 hands. However haviah had a playful rowdy streak haha, but she just has this willingness. She seems to want to be there with you. She’s lovely
So this mule gives you her all and her reward is to be sold. To go somewhere where they may not ride as good as you and the ques are different and she has to figure it all out. And you may not agree or realize but often time the reason an animal is so good I’s because they like you. I get ranching is hard but to have no loyalty is on you!
These guys are creeps!! Watch a few videos and you’ll see they don’t value their animals safety or loyalty. My husband and I have ridden all our lives and we would NEVER treat our mounts like they do. So cruel!!
@Leslie Gibbons Not sure what my age has to do with my opinion… but my opinion isn’t based on a Dunning Krueger affect. My opinion is based on decades of experience with horses and watching how they bond and respond to new owners. Most, or should I say many trainers don’t train animals to be able to cope with new owners. When you have taught any animal for years that two and two equals four and then they get placed into an enviorment where the ques now mean two plus two equal five it is very stressful to the animal.
Well, I glad to see that you didn’t choke the cow down and drag her. Someone did that to a couple of my cows where I was leasing pasture and both of my cows died.
Sad to see her go, but gotta thank her for a lot that she has done! Hope she finds a great new home and can go climb all through rough terrains and show off her skills.
She reminds me of my own mule Denny his mother was a mustang while his dad was a mammoth donkey he's a loyal and gentle giant and will do just about anything you ask him to. I truly hope she goes to the beat home and she will be missed
I have had the pleasure of riding both horses and mules and I would hands down pick a mule over a hose I love everything about them and love your channel keep it guys
The sad side of business is when you're attached to the animals you trained up knowing they'd likely sell one day. Been there, it still hurts. But they go on to help other people and it opens space and time for the ranch to work on the next generation of to-be-stars.
when i was a kid my family bought a retired mule named Jenny. she had a lot of sass and made a couple of summers very fun. congrats on your retirement, malibu. i hope you end up with lots of kids around who bring apples and carrots. look out for low tree limbs - a kid or two might be hiding on it to jump on you.
That mule was probably or the best I have ever seen. I mean some of the stuff that mule did in your video's was just absultly stunning and Outstanding. You just don't find mules like that. And allot has to do on training also. But just absultly wow. I don't know if I could get rid of something that was so Reliable. And clean up that mule looked good also.
For those that have a warped sense about animals, I feel sorry for you. First off buying and selling animals is fine, yet some people just dont get it, there is no rule that says if you buy and sell you cant keep any. Now first off a good animal, dog, mule whatever, will have a big part helping other animals and pass on really good behavior to the other animals. In other words its advantages to keep a good well adjusted animal around to help train others. Second loyalty is priceless, extreme loyalty that mule showed your family is rare. For those of you who never had a dog or cat or mule to bond with like the mule here, well like I said above I feel sorry for you. Buttt if you are not loyal, you will never experience the bond anyway no matter what you own.
Bronx and Doncs extended: Ch.2: It just seems so counterintuitive to sell your very best one that your wife even likes! Especially if you’re bringing on some new mules to train. Was she starting to get old or to suffer possibly from arthritis in her joints from all that time spent in ice water in the winter time, necessitating a less demanding gig/environment for her? Whatever the case, you should’ve brought out the best in each other, and I hope she’s every bit as happy with the “new” human. We all know you’ll train another animal to be exceptional.
My grandfather was a farmer. He sold the best sheepdog he ever trained and regretted it always. He told me it's business when the right offer comes along u had to take it.
What I see is a man that values Money more than the loyalty and heart that has been shown to him I would never subscribe to a channel that values money over loyalty. Yes, I'm one of the thumbs down.
have gold... platinum... not much cash at the moment... cash always goes away... some of my gold is from ancient Tibet... still valuable... always will be... solid... clinks when you drop it
she done youre work now time get rid .Why cant she retire with you ,you owe her that much ? People go mad if ppz dump their dogs IN UK. The States have enough problems unwanted badly treated horses etc
Youre videos are basicly the reason im gonna be getting a mule instead of a horse. While both are really good. I feel like mules would be best. But i prolly get a horse to
No one is forcing the sale, I am not judging, just saying I would never do that to an animal I cared that much about, besides life is to short and trading for paper for something that may come around once in a lifetime makes no sense to me................
@Leslie Gibbons Well, it's not just you. Even our good old racist slavers never understood how the abolishionists considered the 'subhuman' people of colour as equal to white men. Just like many never understood why women should be given rights equal to men. They preferred the regime when men were allowed to trade women and white men were allowed to trade slaves. You suffer from the same moral disability as them.
@Leslie Gibbons Thanks. It was a cakewalk diagnosing your moral disability after reading your speciesist comment. You oppose the idea that other animals have the same standing as humans. Is there any scientific evidence to suggest that animals do not suffer emotional and physical pain and agony? Racists believed that raping slave women is alright because they like it and that beating up a black man is the only way to make him learn something. They didn't use it as an excuse they actually believed it. How do we see those racists now? How will future generations see the speciesists of today?
How can you enjoy a faithful animal like that and then sell it? you have no idea how he will be treated or how many times it will be sold....this is the crappy part of ownership. not responsible.

The mule bonded but you treat her like fence post
Sell her to anyone she’ll not respond the same and be treated
Accordingly. Good luck

Bruh you haters need to shut up, this stuff is what makes a great horse or mule

Fingers crossed she goes to a home she deserves
You’ll be missed Malibu! Love you! Thank you for all the fun times and great videos you helped make. Best wishes on your future trails.
My Friend, you cannot sell her, that's part of you, like you are part of her.
Our LORD JESUS be with you and your family.
I just sold my favorite gelding, the kid who bought him was super excited, thinking back all the work i put into was him actually putting work into me
That's a great observation. It goes both way with horses, they are working with you as you work with them. So true
