I have had the same kind of skin that Jo has since I was 12years old, I'm now 47 and still get outbreaks, have a nose and chin covered with blackheads and ooze oil like a texas oil field. I have been so mortified by it for well over 35 years. I have scarring like you wouldn't believe. I now have a new form of acne, hidradenitis suppurativa around some areas which I am to embarassed to tell you. I would love one of those pillows, even helping the skin on my cheeks would be something to behold. I currently use The Ordinary's skin products to help with my cystic acne, but the damage has been done and my facial skin is truely horrible. I hate the adverts on TV that tell you to love the skin you're in!

Lynn Fenwick check out Dr. Dray on TH-cam -no more cystic acne since being on her day and night routine, and it’s an affordable (cheap) regimen.

Even though I’ll be 60 this month I STILL get the occasional breakout!! Aaarrrggh! I guess being so oily has helped me have fewer wrinkles though. I remember Clearasil!! Never seemed to deliver what it promised. Great ideas ladies! I appreciate it! 💝💝

How refreshing to hear someone inside the beauty industry speak truthfully about their skin struggles. I’m 48 and have had acne for 35 years. I also used everything from peroxide mixtures to roaccutane from my early teenage years and feel this video with resonate with many people. I now have menopausal acne...it seems there is no end in sight! I have changed my pillowcase every night for several years and feel it helps on some level. I would love to try the silk pillow and let you know the outcome.

I’ve suffered from breakouts my entire life, and while I have been able to find a few products that helped, it’s made my skin incredibly sensitive. So sensitive that sometimes I wake up with random and painful, red patches. As a side sleeper I also smash my face into the pillow and get the lovely creases in my face. Lol. While I am by no means a pink girl, I would love it if I won. Thanks again for a great video Nadine! I’m gonna try the IT CC as it seems it fits all skin types! Love having Jo and Yogi in the videos!

Praise Paula's BHA. It's a life changing product. She never gets the praise that she deserves for her formulations. Her cleansers are all I can use to deal with tenacious sunscreen. I love a number of SkinMedica products, but so much that Paula makes is in a class all themselves.

I had awful skin when I was 18. I tried everything but there were so few products available. I talked to people with my hand over my chin as this was my problem area. Eventually it did clear up but in my head I will always have that 18 year old skin so my heart goes out to people who suffer from bad skin. It just saps your confidence and you become slightly obsessed. Hopefully this video will give any sufferers hope. I would love the silk pillowcase as I’ve now developed that other problem - you wake up and your face is saggy and stays that way half the morning! Babies don’t know how lucky they are!

I’m 39 (almost 40) and am just coming out the other side of adult acne. I missed that as a teen, and now the buggers are paying me back. So not only am I ‘fighting ageing’, ya know, dull, loose skin, wrinkles, yada yada, but I’m also fighting the nasty little marks that these spots are leaving. In the words of Hugh Grant in Notting Hill, I think that deserves a brownie (Slip pillow sheet). Nadine, FYI your channel has changed my life!

I've been contemplating the purchase of this pillowcase for a while now. I've suffered from sensitive, acne-prone skin for as long as I can remember. I'm unable to take the contraceptive pill because it triggers my anxiety and I have a family history of blood clotting disorders. I've also just had a baby. I'm in my early 30s now and I too am a devoted fans of it cosmetics CC cream and gel products. I'm 6 months in to testing adapalene with very pleasing results. I'd be thrilled to discover a pillow case that doesn't harm my skin. I currently change my pillowcases every other day due to my sensitivity. Thank you so much for this series and for the opportunity 🙏

I have become utterly addicted to beauty pie. I just dove into their cleansers and I now have three of them and absolutely love all three. Because I'm spending quite a bit of money with beauty pie you introduced me to beauty pie, I feel like I should get a pillowcase. I have been struggling with breakouts since I turned 42 and having wrinkles and pimples at the same time is demoralizing. I just started curology and I feel like it has started to make a difference. Love your videos Nadine

I‘m 30 and recently got breakouts again and I‘m constantly picking at my skin, on the bumps and the dry flaky bits. My self-confidence is completely gone, I‘m hiding most of the time behind a scarf, my hair or simply in my apartment.
I‘m definitely going to try some of your recommendations and would be really happy about one of these pillowcases. Thanks to both of you for making such informative and funny videos!

    This video is EVERYTHING! ✨
I really relate with jo! Wow! I’m 23 years old and the only way I can describe my skin “A Confused Skin”
My skin can be dry, oily, dehydrated.. sensitive.. acne prone.. congested. You name it I’ve got it x I never feel like I fit into one category of “skin type” and I’ve actually had people tell me this. It’s bloody hard work but I do a good job of keeping it under control x I’ve always been intrigued with the silk pillow but always assumed it would benefit a more mature skin type.. maybe it would work for me after all? X
Thankyou for all the info! You literally save my life!✨✨

I've had acne for 15 years. I also love buying reusable beauty products that will last a lifetime, no matter what the price (just bought a Mason Pearson brush). A silk pillowcase will be perfect for my collection for so many reasons. Thank you!

Wow! I have been suffering from acne for 6 years now (15-21), currently undergoing a treatment of prescription tretinoin 0.1%. My skin is flaky, peeling and irritated and this pillowcase just sounds like a dream on my poor retin-A face! I am persistent with changing my pillowcases but this honestly sounds like it will help so much with the sensitivity whilst sleeping.
I love you Nadine and keep up the amazing content! mwah xo

This was very informative. Thank you. I have been suffering with bad skin since I was 11 years old and now that I am 25, I feel like it is really showing the damage. I feel very insecure about even going to the supermarket, and no matter what I do I feel like I need a layer of foundation to give me enough confidence to even leave the house. The silk pillow case is something I would like to try. Thank you

I'd love to be on the list for pillowcase! I've had problematic skin since my early twenties, with under the skin cystic bumps across my cheeks, chin and forehead when I'm stressed. It's hormonal but stress brings on an outbreak that can take months to calm down. I can really relate to Jo, and her comments about 'but your skin looks good right now'- such a frustrating thing to be told!! My skin has in the past really affected my mental wellbeing and confidence- and many treatments burn the skin or destroy the moisture barrier. I'm really careful with towels and bedding etc but even when my skin is 'good' it is still slightly congested.
I love seeing you two together, and hearing about other people's stories and skin journeys! Megan x

Hi Nadine, I’m so glad you got Jo back - I love you two together!! I’d love a pillowcase because I’m 17 and have had mild acne for a few years now and even though I know it could be a lot worse I am still self-conscious about it and hate not wearing makeup so if the pillowcase could make even a small difference I would be so happy. Thank you xx

Just came across this video. Love you ladies! I had bad skin in my late 20's early 30's and I started using Proactive. It was super harsh on my skin but thankfully after 2-3 years my skin improved. Now I use a mild cleanser, drug store moisture cream at night only then rinse my face with warm water only in the morning and it has made such a huge difference in my skin. Less has been more for my situation. Jo you are beautiful.

My skin journey....I didn’t start with cystic acne until after I had my second child. I was in my early 30s. It was so bad and I had no idea how to manage it. I now have major scarring and have just started accutane. My skin is now extra dry and sensitive but I think it is working. I have only been using this for 3 months but it looks promising. I am now 47 and hope a silk pillow case will help with the many new wrinkles now appearing and also with the sensitive skin I am now dealing with. Love these types of videos. Keep them coming. Thanks

You ladies make me giggle... I love the information you share and how down-to-earth you are. You certainly compliment one another. I recall using a silk pillowcase when I was a much younger girl to keep my curlers in overnight for Sunday Church! What fond memories! Perhaps it's time for me to try one again. It sounds like a worthwhile investment... just another step in my skincare routine.

Loved this, thank you! I have had cystic, hormonal acne since I was 17 and now at 35 am SO over it. The pill was great and the only magical cure, until I had to stop taking it due to migraines. Nothing has worked since. I am going to try all of these products, THANK YOU both, loved the chat and the advice!

I am 26 and have a condition called Pyoderma Faciale, which basically consists of angry cystic lumps appearing only on my face. I've had this for around 4 years now and have tried numerous oral antibiotics, creams, diet changes and thousands of different products! My dermatologist has now told me that we have "exhausted all options" and I left my most recent appointment feeling completely defeated!
I have thought about silk pillow slips before and have struggled to find them or unfortunately the ones I have found have seemed to be quite expensive - which has resulted in talking myself out of purchasing and telling myself that they probably won't help anyway or couldn't possibly be worth the money!
However, it would be amazing to have a chance to try them. Even if the only benefit is they are more gentle on my skin which often wakes me up at night from being so painful!
Thanks so much for posting vidoes on topics like these. There is an overwhelming amount of information on the internet on ways to treat conditions such as acne and those similar (although not so much on mine which is great!) but your channel is so honest!

I would love a pillowcase. Always had good skin then developed psoriasis in my 30s. So between that, using steroid creams and uvb treatment my skin has taken a bit of a battering. Now getting to “a certain age” getting hormonal breakouts that I never had luckily at puberty. I try to look after my skin as best I can and would love to try the slip. Thanks ladies. I’ve had hormonal acne for over 10 years, and feel like I’ve tried everything! I’ve been to see my GP many times and all they recommend is a Benzoyl Peroxide gel which I’ve been slathering on my face for years and still get the same acne ‘beard’😩 I have the contraceptive implant and still get these hormonal breakouts, and also get spots on my back.
Loved to see a video about acne/spots from someone who actually suffers with it, thank you!!!

Such an informative video! As someone who has suffered from acne since I was a teenager, I have tried so many different products to combat and soothe my problematic skin. It's so difficult when you think a product is so good, but a little while later I'll still get breakouts. So frustrating. I would love love love to try out the silk pillowcase but it's just so out of my budget to even consider spending that much. I've tried clearing up my diet and exercising which really helped at first and it's given me a stronger body (yayy) but my acne still hasn't cleared up. I've decided I'm going to strip back my skincare and makeup to the bare essentials and see how I get along xxx Thanks again for all the tips and advice

Thank you so much for this video Nadine and Jo!
I am so intrigued by these pillowcases - please put me on the list! Listening to Jo talk about her troubled skin - which sounds identical to mine, angry spots all the time but also dry skin everywhere - was really heartening. Few of the beauty bloggers who I follow have skin like mine, and it is so powerful to hear from someone successful in the industry talking about these kinds of problems, and with so much honesty.
I'm ready to try all of the above but, as a PhD student, the Slip pillowcase is slightly out of my budget! I'll have my fingers crossed :)

I feel your pain. It's such an emotional issue too - it effects self confidence, self worth - sometimes you just want to hide your face away. I'm convinced my skin is why I wear my hair long - so I can hide behind it when I need to. Anyway try the BHA - you will not look back, I promise. Try with the travel version first as it's £7. You will notice the difference after one night. And visit charity shops looking for 100% silk shirts and wrap them around your pillow - that's what my nan used to do and swore by it.

It is hugely emotional yes, especially as my skin has a tendency to flare up just when I don't need it too, adding to stress and lacking self-confidence. Thank you so much for the amazing tips, I will definitely be trying all of the above!

He has mentioned so many times that he thinks his pillowcase “spreads” it and I have always ignored him! He would be thrilled with one of these and I do think it would help after hearing it from you guys 😋 we are newlyweds and don’t have a lot of spare money so I would love to be able to try it out before spending the £90!!! thank you Nadine, love your videos! I was on dianette pill for years for my skin. My skin was great but my mood swings were terrible. When I came off I finally felt like myself again. When I came to conceive I had real trouble. The fertility doctor said being on dianette for as long probably contributed to my pcos. Being on it is the biggest regret of my life. I know it probably won’t happen to everyone but just for a wee bit of balance sorry.
Love the videos. You two are a hoot!!

I have struggled with acne (made worse by skin picking disorder) for 2/3rds of my life, how sad is that. Korean skincare has been a godsend because of their emphasis on being gentle with the skin and layering hydration. Plus, pimple patches! Omg! Wish those had been around when I was in high school. I used to absolutely punish my skin when I was younger, just like you ladies mentioned.
Skincare has come such a long way and I'm so glad I can now give actual good advice and products to my niece, hopefully she will never suffer the way I did feeling miserable and hopeless. It really does affect your confidence, especially having acne as an adult, I often feel like people judge me or don't take me seriously because of it.
But my skin is so much better now, I can count the number of spots I have at any given time on one hand! I do wonder how much of it is just my skin naturally becoming drier with age tho.

    Hello Nadine and Jo!
First, I wanted to thank you so much for this video. I have been struggling with cystic acne and massive spot breakouts for the last fifteen years and have had the most difficult time finding products, even those recommended by my dermatologist, that would treat my spots but not enrage my dry and sensitive skin. I really can't wait to try these recommendations and would love to see if the silk pillow case could work for me! I have spots on my cheeks, just like Jo used to, and would really like to take on the three-night test to see if they could be helped.
Even if I'm not chosen, I just want to thank you both for telling your stories and for making those that suffer from acne know that they aren't alone in their fight and that there are products out there that will help! You are both amazing and so fun to watch! Thank you thank you! :)

Love this vlog thank you... Jo's story resonates with me so much... I actually always dreamt of working in the beauty industry, but felt ashamed to ever follow that dream due to my awful skin that started to break out as soon as I hit puberty and like Jo I used Quinoderm, also Clearasil, TCP, toothpaste, lemon juice, Dettol, Tar soaps, there were none of the products available now back then....
I had lovely olive toned skin as a child, by the time I reached my late teens all the various products reduced my skin tone to the colour of wall paper paste and I still had spots :-( I'm so glad to have got older, in my late 40's my skin stopped being so problematic and although I still get the odd small pimple its nothing like it used to be....but I still have to wear foundation everyday to look half decent....People don't realise the effect acne/blemishes can have on a person.....
I'm so much happier now I'm older and don't have to deal with the constant anxiety of having to deal with breakouts....Dealing with wrinkles is nothing compared to dealing with bad skin. I use just a bit of Freederm now as and when needed luckily its nothing like Quinoderm which used to bleach the bed linen, clothes, every damn thing.
Thank you for sharing the product tips :-) Would love a silk pillow case....tad expensive though lol x x x

Hi Nadine! I would LOVE one of those pillow cases because I’m a 40 year old single mum with a beautiful 4 year old son who has cerebral palsy and autism. I’m wrinkly because I’m quite often stressed (!!) and sleep is something I don’t get enough of because my little boy wakes a lot in the night and it’s just me and him, so I’m often sleep deprived...😴. I love your channel and you’re my skincare guru! Lots of love, Fiona&Zander Haines❤️

Why do I deserve a silk pillowcase? Because I'm a beauty nag 😂😂 but also because I'm peri-menopausal so I'm in that sweet spot of hormonal break outs vs saggy lack of collagen skin, God I love my body!! So nice to finally see someone talking about skincare who doesn't have dry skin - so much content for you dry peeps out there about layering on oils and luxurious creams so it's great to have some recommendations for us sensitive/combo types!

Ive had acne since I was 12. I did roaccutane at 23, it cleared up for a couple of years and then it got back (lighter, thankfully). It left me with other problems for life. I’m 38, and I have to deal with hormonal acne, and the skin’s clock doesn’t stop, so lack of elasticity and wrinkles are on my agenda. I diligently take care of my skin, with vitamin C, acids, retinol and tonnes of hyaluronic (it’s dehydrated). But I still need all the help I can get to prevent the breakout beard.
Thanks for this video, Nadine, I’ll probably give the salicylic a try, although from other brands that I’ve tried it leaves my skin peeling a bit...

I neeeeeed that pillowcase! 48, clinging to the edge keeping the wrinkles away! Occasional perimenopause breakouts on chin plus keeping the fine lines away, this is what I need! I DREAM of skin like Nadine's! I don't care what color either!! XOX

I would LOVE to try the silk pillowcase! I'm 29 and for the last ten years or so I have had constant mountainous spots on my chin and cheek! I've pretty sensitive skin and don't get on with oils or acids. I'm trying to use the most gentle products at the moment so the idea of some pure silk helping me out is very appealing!!

Love this video, so refreshing to see troubled skin talked about so openly from someone who actually suffers with it 😊 I've been suffering with adult cystic acne for about a year now and am currently taking Roaccutane. I'm hoping they will help but would love to try the silk pillowcase as my skin has become so sensitive. Really need to try the CC cream too, you both look gorgeous in it!

hello to both of you beautiful ladies! I'm 21 and I struggled with my skin for 10+ years now. acne played a huge part in my life and I definitely felt the lack of confidence because of it... only now I'm starting to feel comfortable in my own skin. unfortunately, most things that you talk about aren't available here in Russia or they aren't in my preferable price range at the moment, but I really do appreciate these videos 'cause I always try to improve my skin care, so I would love to to try out the silk pillow case and see the possible difference. again, thank you for doing what you do for all of us 💛

I've added the lot to my wishlist! This was the best video I've watched about acne. I've had it since I was about 28 and I WISH I'd bumped into you two before my wedding :( Needless to say, I'm now 34, with a baby and back in acne hell.
I hadn't really clicked how many things I've been doing wrong.....layering it all on, using glycolic acids, using a bloody crap pillowcase! Anyway, thanks! xx

I would love to try the pillowcase, my story is very similar, having suffered with acne since being 12 and still as an adult now with rosacea, and trying to cover it up with make up. I have tried to embrace my skin since turning 40, but it has taken me a long time to feel happy with my skin 😊

Thank you both for sharing this video, the comment about when people comment on your skin being good (at the moment) is so relatable, something that has been said to me and it is never taken as a compliment. As a 22 year old at university I am often surrounded by friends with near perfect skin, even if I look after my skin better, eat better, drink less alcohol yet still my skin is never even close to perfect. I would love the chance to try a pillow case and see if it makes a difference. After using the ordinary salicylic acid, morning and night, and being on the pill, my skin has improved slightly, but would love to try this silk product and hopefully see some results! Thanks again for sharing x

I've been using my silk pillowcases for about 10 years and I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine. I wash mine on delicate and let them air dry. I acquired mine from my dad, who brought them back from southeast asia when he was stationed there during Vietnam....which just shows you how old mine are.

Oh my goodness I would absolutely love one of those pillowcases 😭 I have had acne for as long as I can remember, been on all the pills my doctor could prescribe for me until Now I’ve sort of given up.
Working as a makeup artist also has also been a challenge with this as I truly believe it all starts with skin and I love prepping clients gorgeous skin but feel like such a fake with my hideous skin and get so self conscious being so close to clients because I feel I am being judged and they will never rebook. I would just love to feel confident in my skin and will try anything!
Keep being an inspiration Nadine! I look forward to all of your uploads! X

    Hey Both :-)
I wouldn’t say I deserve this above anyone else - I’ve watched this video and I related to so many of Jo’s skin concerns - I’m now about to completely switch up my routine.. I was mid way through looking for a cheaper alternative to the silk pillowcase when she announced a giveaway! So, I’d love to receive one because of this - I may be preventative of more fine lines occurring and frizzy hair in my sleep!
Love you guys together, you really bounce off one another and listening to your science behind it Nadine, really gives us viewers clarity on what we’re putting on our skin!
    Thanks,Becky x

Nadine , can you please talk about hyper-pigmentation in your next video? Hearing Jo talk about how she used to be embarrassed about showing her bear skin , hit home for me ! I used to have perfect skin and that all changed when I was 30 for some odd reason (I've been told I had a hormonal change at one point and that triggered it ) .. And I've tried creams and serums recomended by dermatologists and chemical peels ( also under a dermatologist's supervision)... They always seem to come back no matter what I do :( ... Desperate in Beirut ! :)

Jo is brilliant fun to watch, you both bounce off of each other! I bought the IT cosmetics CC cream and it's totally transformed my daily routine! I often break out around my temples and cheek bone area, which stops me from being able to use highlighters as it draws too much attention to them :( would love to try the pillowcase. Love the hack videos, keep them coming x

Oh please consider me for the magic silk pillowcase! I'm 34 and suffered with breakouts for all my adult life on and off. Worse since coming off the pill to have my son. Who is, incidentally, 2 years old tomorrow, and not sleeping this week because he's poorly, so I could absolutely do with a little bit of a pick me up and luxury just for frazzled me. Always trying out new things to tackle my skin and looking for that magic key so this video was ace. Thank you :)

Great videos ladies, informative and fun x
