I got my first bottle of this in one of those TJ Maxx samplers that my aunt got me for christmas when I was in like, 11th grade. Been my signature ever since. Classy, distinctive without being gimmicky. Subtle enough for the subway or office, which is important IMO. Sprays on cleanly, starts out crisp and bright and mellows out over the day into this gorgeous woody, bourbony totally huggable come-down. Drives the ladies nuts. I won't wear anything else.
Very iconic fragrance. I got it for Christmas last year and for the first time.I love it!!! It brings back memories of the 1990s. I remember always wanting this fragrance. My younger brother had it then.I wore Quorum(1982 ).I love it too. This fragrance always had me envision a confident, fit man and I wanted to convey that image. This fragrance personifies that kind of man.
I remember trying this when I was tiny and instantly fell in love with it and mens fragrances. I wear it now as my office scent. My husband and I use it but it smells masculine on him and becomes sweat on myself. It's a must have.
I'm using eternity when I was on my 20s and I'm on my 50s still using it👍👍👍😇😇including SAFARI,HUGO BOSS,POLO SPORT ,FAHRENHEIT These are my favorites Classics 👌
I bought some yesterday for pretty much the first time ever. But I know this fragrance from a long time ago. I was living in London in the 90's (90-98) and used to work in fragrance depts in dept stores, mostly Harrods. But before I got more permanent spots there, I went from store to store as needed and one day I was sent to Harvey Nics to do an Eternity for Men promo which lasted about 2 or 3 full weeks. Just me and this girl standing around in a quiet corner of the store with very little foot traffic and some signage and a small temporary physical display of the stock. Holding the bottle and offering to spray it to passersby or offer them a test strip if they preferred. This was about 91 so it wasn't the launch per se but they were still trying to plug it and boost sales and it was a brand new fragrance. I had access to all the fragrances at the time working in those places and I had a couple I wore and liked, so wasn't in the market for a new one at this point in time. I remember when I first smelled it, I thought it was a bit overpowering, a bit brash, not bad, like not awful and horrible by any means, a little overwhelming and in-your-face for my taste, but I just liked others more so wasn't interested in it. But I do remember that standing around for several weeks constantly smelling this fragrance, it left me with this really lasting impression that it was powerful and strong and gave me a headache and imprinted itself (not in a good way) on my mind and memory. I got really sick of the smell. It was cloying and too much. But this was because I was basically bathed in it all day every day for 3 weeks or so. And this left a lasting impression for years and years. So anyway, recently I started getting back into fragrance after years of not caring and started looking for something I could wear, and of course referred back to those which I used to wear. But most of them are gone, discontinued, or reformulated so badly they are no longer what they should be and have lost what made them great in the first place. I looked at others, more recent ones, basically just trying to find some scent which I could wear on the daily for errands and give me that little bit of elevation and something extra. Nothing ground shaking, just a nice well put-together fragrance on the lighter side. Had a few misses recently, ones I thought would be great and just disappointing and not it for me. But yesterday I was in the pharmacy and the bottle of Lagerfeld I am almost out-of after trying and not really falling in love with is almost dead so I looked at the wall of fragrances in front of me and thought what should I try next. I saw Eternity there and the Lagerfeld had in fact reminded me of it for some reason, they're not the same, but it did remind me of that old Eternity promo I did back in the day. I thought to myself why not get it, it's cheap (one of the cheapest there tbh) and will do for now so I got it. Well it's been really reformulated and had things taken out, and like so many others from back then, has lost a roundness and opulence and strength and power which was the norm back then for so many fragrances with those ingredients they are no longer allowed to use. They've just had the guts totally ripped out of them. You used to put them on and it was wow, and you would be surrounded in a power cloud and really get value for money and it would last forever and dry-down to this wonderful something-or-other on the skin with the real oakmoss etc, but nowadays it's watered down and just a shadow of their former selves. But in this case, with Eternity, it actually works in its favor. It's lost all the overbearingness of it, and what's left is a tight and modern but classic, very versatile fragrance which could work for office, casual, many seasons, I would actually prefer to wear this in the summer and wear something heavier in the winter. It doesn't seem to have suffered much from the reformulation, and seems to have in fact benefited from it. It's no longer that heavy cloying thing I remember. I really like it and am going to probably keep wearing it for general daily use. One thing I will add is that on Fragrantica I saw a comment that it had the rose note removed or at least heavily reduced, and was now hard for people to discern. Well I also own some Black Aoud by Montale (definitely a beast mode frag) and have been using that almost like a deo, a couple of sprays on the pits will last you all day and waft around you bringing joy, the notes are heavy on the Aoud and Rose. So I'd sprayed this new Eternity on my chest and was lifting my shirt out to sniff it (I find that's a really good way to see how your skin chemistry and body heat affect the end-resulting fragrance, just spray it on your chest and wait a few hours and then stick your nose down the top of your top and sniff the enclosed fragrance) and realized I was also still getting trails of the Black Aoud and the combo was very nice indeed, so if someone wants that rose note added back, layering it with Black Aoud from Montale is one way to do it. In a world where fragrance-making seems to have turned to simplicity and minimalism (maybe to deal with the bans on ingredients and manufacturing cost factors today) it is nice to be able to have a still complex old-school fragrance like Eternity to wear and also at a decent price.
First smelled 15 years ago, now I can't really go away from it. Alyway purchased different scents and then returned to eternity. Its just amazing and my signature for sure.
Just bought a bottle recently. It's just how I remembered it. It opens in a bright aromatic fruity top and the dry down is creamy which is fantastic. This and Drakkar Noir are my go to back in the 90's and I absolutely love it till now.
Me too Max It was my signature scent for so long, I used to rotate it with Obsession and Polo Green. this fragrance has a very special place in my hart. Great review and so good to see that you take the time to review fragrances like this, Cheers!
My Classic's would be #1 is CK Obsession for men, #2 is Hugo Boss number one, and #3 is CK Eternity for men. My honorable mention's would be Drakkar Noir, and Brut!
The big question is....Why reformulate??? I love the old one. They last forever but now just 2-3 hours damn that sucks!!! Bring back the old Formula ASAP!!!
That didnt make sense to me too but i learned that over the years the laws regarding using certain ingredients change and some stuff gets banned so they have to make a new formulation without that ingredient, and its usually the good stuff that gets banned so thats why some classic frags get weak over the years
I always keep Eternity in my lineup for Fall, Spring and Summer. To me it's a lemon and woods bomb. Very lemony 🍋 over a base of smooth woods. I absolutely ❤️ it
Calvien Klien Eternity was my signature scent for the longest. I still own and wear this fragrence its classy, elegant, sexy and fun. #1 Calvien Klien Eternity #2 Ralph Lauren Polo Blue #3 CK One
love it, unfortunately I used it as my signature during a great relationship that ended badly. Due to the sad nostalgia, I can’t buy it even if I love it.
Great review! My all-time love for fragrances. The one that started my fragrance journey, years ago. I always used to get compliments for it. It's perfect for summer.
Ahh! boy do I remember this classic.. 2000 was out for the night with a few buds in LA needed a spray my boy gave me a couple of sprays, this was so pleasant and appealing. Great night and memories.
I got infinity for men which is a clone for cheaper price and used the whole 100ml bottle in 3 years.. Great timeless scent. Smells confident cozy inviting safe smell. Great for every starting man that wants a memorable scent.
Hey Max! I absolutely love all of your reviews and they’ve helped me a lot in purchasing the right perfumes for myself. I was hoping if you could do a review on the perfume Ck Free.
Hey Max great video. Yeah I just purchased the current formulation. You are spot on in your description, about 90% of the original scent. Longevity is definitely lacking in the new formulation, I would say average at best, but still quite nice and a lot of fun to re visit! Thanks for all you do for the community!!
This was my signature scent for years but after the reformulations I can't get myself to buy this anymore. The performance on this, especially compared to the 90's is abysmal now. Obsession is the same and I'm still holding on to my old bottle of that with what juice it has left as the new ones colour itself looks weak as.
Boss by Hugo Boss (#1[winter only]), Obsession by Calvin Klein (winter only) and Azorro Chrome. But Eternity is my signature but rotate it with Euphoria.
It’s really difficult to keep my classics at three. My number one is Ralph Lauren Polo Sport (blue bottle). Number two: Cool Water by Davidoff. Number three: CK Eternity/Obsession.
Alot of ppl say " For the office" yet EVERWHERE I go as far as offices and places of business...are scent free zones. I actually got a talking to about wearing a fragrance to a meeting last week.
Hey Max, I’m trying to find your video where you talk about your favorite first release from the House the original vintage Calvin cologne in the tall dark blue bottle with just the word Calvin on front - I think I’ve seen you mention it in at least one video as being a favorite from the House.
It's not a bad scent. Definitely not one of my favorites, however it's pretty good. It's very clean and fresh, very upbeat and vibrant. Sounds weird, however it smells positive. lol.
Can you review English Leather by Dana? It used to be made by a company named MEM and it was reformulated by Dana. Still smells the same just a bit weaker. That was my very first fragrance waaaaaaaay back in '96. I was about 10 or 11 yrs old and people still remember me wearing it!! Its really cheap nowdays but I still rock it!
it cracks me up when i hear a reviewer say,, you can just spray it and go, lmao.. if i gotta do a spinjump marathon ice skate pole vault to get my cologne to work, im finding somethin else to wear lol
I have a question about the sprayer the one I bought for a gift the bottle didn't have a cap. Then the one i bought for myself the bottle was same for men but there was a cap to it wasn't the same as the one I bought for a gift. Why is that?
You don't by chance own chanel egoiste do you? If so I'd love to see a review. It's the one chanel I don't have. Polo green, acqua di gio and Joop! for me
My signature scent for many years. This is a true classic. I’ll always have it in my collection.

This was my Dads scent in the 90's. Beautiful nostalgic fragrance. I would spray it on my self when I was a kid for special events. Classic.
This fragrance personifies that kind of man.

that's really cool, thanks for sharing!
CK eternity was my all time favourite & reordered again ! I am expecting it today ! 👌
Scents don't age...they mature. Classic is where it's at.
I'm using eternity when I was on my 20s and I'm on my 50s still using it👍👍👍😇😇including SAFARI,HUGO BOSS,POLO SPORT ,FAHRENHEIT These are my favorites Classics 👌
1. Calvin Klein Eternity for Men
2. DavidOff Cool Water
3. Paco Rabanne One Million (Don’t know if it’s a classic, but I like it either way)
And Tommy Hilfiger and Polo Sport, for me
And Paco Rabanne Pour Homme
My three favorite classics are Acqua Di Gio, Fahrenheit and Cool Water.
Fahrenheit too! You’re a legend!
I bought some yesterday for pretty much the first time ever. But I know this fragrance from a long time ago. I will be covering some older juices for sure, the classics never die!
My Classic's would be #1 is CK Obsession for men, #2 is Hugo Boss number one, and #3 is CK Eternity for men. My honorable mention's would be Drakkar Noir, and Brut!
Great list!
Obsession smells like something a guy in his 60s would wear.Hugo and Eternity are nice tho.
Didn't care for Obsession. It smelled too much like vanilla for me,like phemonen. I'm about to re order Eternity though it's a masterpiece.
The big question is....Why reformulate??? I love the old one. They last forever but now just 2-3 hours damn that sucks!!! Bring back the old Formula ASAP!!!

My top three favorite scents are: Issey Miyake original, Eternity Original, and Cool Water original in that order. Nothing beats the originals.
I always keep Eternity in my lineup for Fall, Spring and Summer. To me it's a lemon and woods bomb. Very lemony 🍋 over a base of smooth woods. I absolutely ❤️ it
Classic favorites Jovan Musk, Lagerfeld and Drakkar.
Calvien Klien Eternity was my signature scent for the longest. I still own and wear this fragrence its classy, elegant, sexy and fun.
#1 Calvien Klien Eternity
#2 Ralph Lauren Polo Blue
#3 CK One
love it, unfortunately I used it as my signature during a great relationship that ended badly. Due to the sad nostalgia, I can’t buy it even if I love it.
Ahh man, that sucks
That sucks. I had the song stubborn love by the lumineers ruined for me by a bad cheating woman that I was good to. Great song ruined. It’s a bummer
Don't take something away from yourself that you loved before. This fragrance will always be there no matter what. 👍🏾
Wimpy.
😂
Great review! My all-time love for fragrances. The one that started my fragrance journey, years ago. I always used to get compliments for it. It's perfect for summer.
My scent since 1990 I was 15 and literally just brought a bottle two days ago
Drakker Noir, Davidoff Cool Water and Aqua Di Gio!!
Ahh! boy do I remember this classic.. 2000 was out for the night with a few buds in LA needed a spray my boy gave me a couple of sprays, this was so pleasant and appealing. Great night and memories.
Love this frag. Even though it's an oldie. Have it in my collection right now
I'll always have this in my collection.
I like Chrome, Escape, and Burberry. Eternity is nice but a little goes a long way because its kinda potent this actually was released in 1989.
Without question this the most favorite fragrance of all time...
Great review Max. My favorites are Fahrenheit, Polo green and Drakkar noir.
Keep the great work my friend.
thanks Sergio
Reminds me of being in high school. That and Cool Water!
Polo Green (of course!), Obsession, and Drakkar...(Honorable mention = Paul Sabastian)
Please review Eternity Aqua also :)
Wore it in 1990 and just bought (2 )6.8 Oz bottles. It’s amazing 🌟
My 3 classic are dolce pour homme, opium by YSL and Dior’s Fahrenheit.
all 3 are staples in the fragrance world. I will definitely be covering them, I've actually reviewed D&G pour homme!
It is a real old school barbershop scent. Have an old batch miniature of 15ml in my collection.
Hey Max great video. Yeah I just purchased the current formulation. You are spot on in your description, about 90% of the original scent. Longevity is definitely lacking in the new formulation, I would say average at best, but still quite nice and a lot of fun to re visit! Thanks for all you do for the community!!
In 2018 its still good!
All I get is melon, start to finish!
Love it
i LOVE CK Eternity and POLO Blue
Hey Max, I still have 2 bottles of the vintage juice. I can totally tell the difference from the reformulated one. I love it!
so true!
What's the difference between the vintage and new? Did the reformulation ruin it?
This was my signature scent for years but after the reformulations I can't get myself to buy this anymore. The performance on this, especially compared to the 90's is abysmal now. Obsession is the same and I'm still holding on to my old bottle of that with what juice it has left as the new ones colour itself looks weak as.
Great Video Max!
Boss by Hugo Boss (#1[winter only]), Obsession by Calvin Klein (winter only) and Azorro Chrome. But Eternity is my signature but rotate it with Euphoria.
Azzaro chrome was such a bad one for me. Smelled very metallic just awful
It’s really difficult to keep my classics at three. My number one is Ralph Lauren Polo Sport (blue bottle). Number two: Cool Water by Davidoff. Number three: CK Eternity/Obsession.
Eternity is number one for me
Alot of ppl say " For the office" yet EVERWHERE I go as far as offices and places of business...are scent free zones. I actually got a talking to about wearing a fragrance to a meeting last week.

I will look into reviewing it, I enjoyed it back in the 90's as well!
Why do they reformulate fragrances?
Where can you get the 100ml and 200ml bottles for the prices you said? Links please!

I have a question about the sprayer the one I bought for a gift the bottle didn't have a cap.
Then the one i bought for myself the bottle was same for men but there was a cap to it wasn't the same as the one I bought for a gift. Why is that?
lucas Lucas was it a tester ??

Is it better then eternity aqua???
I like it better, but it's subjective. You should try both and see what you like best.
