Covenant salvation is two fold as Paul says in Eph.2-8-10. Paul said we are WORKERS together with Him in 2 Cor 6-1, and our faith WORKETH by love in Gal. 5. those denominational preachers remind me of Demetrius the silversmith at Ephesus who caused a riot because when the people were converted to christianity they gave up their false idols thus reducing the financial gain of the makers of the idols.

Paul was quoting from Genesis 15:6 - Was Gen. 15:6 the point Abraham was saved? No, Abraham was already offering to God back in Genesis 12! Surely he was in a covenant with God and had faith already. Jump from Romans 4:3 to James 2:23: "And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God." - James 2:23 Does a person have faith before baptism? Yes, they can, but is their faith "perfected?" (perfected from the Greek word, "teleioo" also could be translated as "complete") "Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?" - James 2:22 No doubt are faith saves us and continues to save us. The big debate that we have is when and how does a person become a saved child of God? Romans 4:3 and Genesis 15:6 are not the answer. I believe that Romans 4:3 is more of a discussion of continued salvation by faith rather than continual good works of merit which is what the Jews were struggling with. Considering Romans 3:27 - Johnny and I know that we can not brag, but that is not to say that we could not be obedient to God's gospel. It is still Christ that is saving us.
