    Faith comes by hearing the Gospel.
    Repent turn away from wrong
    Confess with your mouth that God raise his son.
    Baptized for remission of sins

    there is a little hiccup in what you just said, the word "exercise." If the term *exercise* is the same as *action,* I agree. Let me first define faith, in the Bible it is a verb usually. If you look at it this way: hear the gospel, believe, repent (lifestyle change), confess (Jesus s the son of God, be baptized (in water) here is where the *exercise* of faith comes in, faith is acting on what you believe. Once you are baptized you have *exercised faith*
    If you do not look at it this way, absolutely not, it is impossible for repentance to take place before faith (notice I left out the word exercise). I also realize the *exercise* of faith is not only acting on what you believe by being baptized, but the continued exercise of faith because you have obeyed.

    What does the Bible say?
    The most important thing about the word "baptism" in the New Testament has nothing to do with water, based on Luke 3:16, and Acts 11:15-17, and Romans 8:9, and 1 Corinthians 3:16, and Ephesians 1:13, and 1 John 2:27.
    Based on John chapter 3, a person must be "born-again" of the Spirit of God to inherit the kingdom of God.
    1Co 1:17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.

      John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except one be born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God! - ACCORDING TO THIS being born again does include "water"

    • @SpotterVideo
      @SpotterVideo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RonMBar1 The "water" in John chapter 3 was the amniotic fluid which spilled out of your mother's womb the day you were born of the flesh.

      Which one comes from the "flesh"?
      Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
      What did John the Baptist say below?
      Luk 3:16 John answered, saying to all, "I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.
      Which of the baptisms above is related to a relationship with Christ?
      Rom 8:9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

    At 28:00, why do we baptize babies? Because we have a different belief in baptism. Infant baptism was practiced by the very early church, with documented examples going back at least as far as 91 AD. Baptism is too important to wait..... You yourself say baptism is essential to salvation.

    • @wardenphil

      In the Book of Acts, where Lydia had her whole household baptized in Acts 16:15. Whole household includes all children.

      warden phil Those in the household are those who were able to hear words "by which you will be saved, you and your household" (Acts 11:14). Babies are not able to understand and accept the gospel of Christ. "Crispus, the synagogue ruler, and his entire household believed in the Lord" (Acts 18:8). A baby cannot believe the preached word. The household of Stephanas "devoted themselves to the service of the saints" (I Corinthians 16:15). Infants are incapable of such a task.
      Baptism is for those who have repented of their sins (Acts 2:38). Babies are not sinners. The doctrine of inherited sin or total depravity is not supported by Scriptures. Ezekiel 18:20 illustrates that the punishment of sin is not transferred to others. The Bible never shows baptism being used as a "pledge" or a "promise" to adults. it is not used as a sign to bring a child up in a godly way. In the New Testament baptism is an immersion into Jesus Christ. It removes sin (Acts 22:16) and is for salvation (I Peter 3:21).
      There is no need to baptize babies. They are not sinners. They cannot repent. They cannot believe. Jesus said it best when He commissioned the apostles saying, "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned" (Mark 16:16). Origen was right when he said, "If there were nothing in infants which required the remission of sins and nothing in them pertinent to forgiveness, the grace of baptism would seem superfluous"
      The baptism of infants is superfluous! Let us be content with the Word and only the Word.

    • @wardenphil
      @wardenphil 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davidbridges6450 Except that Origen DID believe in Infant Baptism. Scriptural discussion focuses on adults being baptized because it focuses on how Christianity began, and on the first generation of Christians. For the time discussed in the New Testament, Christianity had yet to achieve a stable, multi-generational existence.
