    The frozen strawberries will be quite mushy, they’ll be alright possible on top of porridge straight from frozen but unless their in a smoothie or stewed they won’t have the same texture as a regular strawb

    Frozen fruits better in a smoothie, I find them too watery for breakfast or to eat alone. 😊

    I absolutely love sweet chilli sauce mixed with a bit of mayo to go with fish cakes or to dunk pawns in. I love eating the frozen fruits party defrosted more so in the summer as a substitute for ice lollies dully defrosted they go to soggy for me. Grapes washed and dusted in jelly crystals and frozen are a must try

    Lovely gift ideas,
    do enjoy salad bags I add a folded kitchen roll as it absorbs the moisture & lasts longer...
    strawberries are mushy when frozen although I chop them up in a fruit salad so you don’t tend to notice.
    Do like cranberry sauce & cinnamon in porridge..
    Sorry but my don’t judge me corner is fresh fruit as I’m dairy nut & alcohol free ...food allergies 🙄

    I love your silvery gray motif you have going on with the ribbon, tissue paper, and the bows. In the US, the only real name I can find for the "floofy shower things" is "mesh shower pouf/poof". If you just say "fluffy shower thing you put the shower gel on", or something similar, people will know what you mean. I don't know if they are the same in the UK, but the ones in the US are kind of crunchy and harsh feeling until you get them wet. I think the wide ribbon goes better with the woven or wicker basket type situation and the metal or plastic basket goes better with the curling ribbon. I think the curling ribbon might not be strong enough for using on the woven or wicker baskets. I don't mind the lack of cellophane, but I do wonder how you'll carry the woven ones unless you do it one by one since they don't have visible handles like the metal or plastic one does. I include plastic because I can't tell for sure if it's grey painted metal or just grey plastic. I would love to buy those tins of chocolates, but they're INSANELY high priced in any place that delivers to the US or has them directly imported. For example, I found the "Celebrations" tin, that has the mini bars in it like the Bounty, for no lower in price than, I kid you not, $35.00! The others like the ones you have were all over $40 or $50. The only difference I noticed, I think, in your food purchases is that I don't see any large bell peppers that you use in the stir fries. Nobody will blame you for buying the pre-sliced cheese. It's not really a convenient thing for a sandwich to slice the narrow blocks that way. I personally don't live in a place where many people eat raw cucumber, so I am not sure how they'd eat it, peeled or not, if they did. Texas is a big beef place in the US, so you'll find huge steaks at a lot of restaurants and in the stores that have a meat section. A lot of Americans like to eat steak either very rare, I mean bloody, or very very well done. I don't eat steak as it used to be a migraine trigger for me as a teenager, but when I did, my family ate "A1" steak sauce with it. The closest UK thing to that product is either HP sauce, as it's called in Canada, or what the UK just calls the "Brown Sauce", I think. It's in the tall vaguely squarish thin bottles with rounded off corners. I don't know if this is an American thing or just a Texas thing or a jus my family when I was a kid thing, but we'd always have steak with cottage cheese and pear or peach slices with it on the side. I don't know if cottage cheese has a different name in the UK, but it's the curd bits with the whey and some of the brands are rather salty. Frozen fruit, if thawed out slowly enough, should be ok to eat as if it were fresh, I would say. It will have a slightly different texture, but it's not very noticeable unless you have a tine tuned palate. I know this is already a very long comment, but for an American who has never seen "Turkish Delight" In a general food shop, can you explain what exactly it is and what it tastes like? Google doesn't give it a very thorough description other than "gummy" type candy flavored with rose water. It's funny that you have a 'Graze" product in your "Don't Judge Me" section because that brand is considered, literally, a "health food" that people in the US eat who generally wouldn't touch anything processed or fast food. I might have mentioned this before, but "After Eight" mints are kind of considered a "posh thing" in the US, so I don't generally see them very much. My only "don't judge me" things this time of year are that I let my self have a jar of spinach dip and a large bag of cheddar cheese flavored sesame sticks. :) I don't eat those together, though.

    • @MummyofFourUK
      @MummyofFourUK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Turkish delight - it's pink and sort of jelly / chewy and floral rose flavoured (sounds hideous when you say it like that )😂 and wrapped in chocolate. Maybe I should eat one in my next haul to show you 🤭

      @@MummyofFourUK That would be nice of you and an excuse to have some. : ) Before I found UK food hauls on TH-cam, the only time I ever saw the term "Turkish delight" was in watching a TV version of the Narnia books by C. S. Lewis. I just love your channel!

    I have to admit I leave the after eight wrappers in the box, every year. And every year I feel disappointed when I go to have one next and it’s empty wrappers. Will I ever learn lol. And the covid numbers around here are very high! We’ve had to isolate for 2 weeks as people in 2 of my children’s class has tested positive. There’s over 200 children off school isolating. The head teacher has still kept the school open. It’s crazy. I’m keeping mine off till next year now. I’m too scared to send them back

    trying to ask this in the best way... has Santa wrapped your presents yet? Or will you show us what Santa got your children before Christmas Day? Hmmmmm..... tricky one. I don't think Santa has wrapped the presents yet but he said that they are all bought ready. He & I chatted and we won't be sharing the gifts that he has bought before Christmas incase my children watch the video. Santa has the gifts that he has bought in the North Pole, but the gifts that I have bought for friends and family are hidden in the attic, some in kallax & some under my ottoman bed until I wrap them. Hope this helps 😉
