And then I had purchased a different one citizen off eBay and it broke during shipping. I had messaged you on Facebook a long time ago and we talked on the phone and I had spent Three full days trying to get it back to working within a year. Today I was determined. I spent seven hours on it I finally got it working. However I want to state that both my Consew and Citizen are timed at 3 o’clock as the needle comes up. Not 9 o’clock. I did 9 o’clock first and I realized it was acting really weird I had to put the needle in completely the other way and it was Mossing and i skipped stitches. I finally looked at the Consew how it was timed and it was 3 o’clock. So I did 3 o’clock on this one and it worked! Two years later I’m finally using this Citizen machine from India.
Oh my goodness yes!! I have heard of one other machine that rotated the opposite direction from the singer and I guess you have found them also. At least I hope that because I explained and complete detail how the Machine Works you understood and you applied that knowledge to fix your machine. I am glad to hear! I think now you understand your machine completely and you can be friends with your machine and make beautiful projects together. I got a chain stitch machine to sew chenille letters. I knew I needed to find out how to thread the needle and which direction the needle needed to go. Thank You so much, this has been invaluable.
We are having trouble with a loud screeching noise and cannot find anyone to work on our machine if you could possibly help us troubled shoot this problem. Our small business would be greatly appreciated.

Hi sorry - question?? At 25:01 Is the need at absolute bottom of its stroke? So far brilliant - "unpausing" Okay. Post pause. Needle should have thread in the hook with looper at 9:30. Got it. 👍👍 Made it to the end. Might be interesting to see a slow-mo with the machine being threaded with the needle plate off.
@@ChainStitchEmbroidery when the new machine comes in. First set in table for fitment. Then oil. Then take needle plate off and check alignment. The hardest questions to ask are if an unknown subject. Thanks for increasing my vocabulary and knowledge.
If you are getting anew Mauzer, the timing should be set from the factory and the Machine should be working when it arrives. The only thing you would want to verify is that your worm gear is set to chain stitch and not Moss Stitch. I have a video about that as well in case you need help figuring out which Stitch the worm gear is set for
@@ChainStitchEmbroidery yes, I’ve seen those, they are great! I’ve worked on so much “new” hardware in my life I’ve learned that things that need timing need to be at least checked. Even knives, snow skies and ice skates need sharpened out of the box. Besides, doesn’t hurt to look. The machine coming is shipped from India. Falak-FK114.
I have watched this video so many times. I find I am semi-frequently adjusting the timing on my machine - maybe every other day - is that normal? How often do you have to time/retime your machine?
I never really have to adjust the timing on my machine. It sounds like maybe one of your other gears maybe loose. Or the needle bar is rotating. It's a little more in-depth but you could take 220 grit sandpaper and rough up the shaft that the worm gear is attached to rubbing in a parallel Direction with the shaft to give it a little bit of grip but I'm not sure what your problem is I don't have enough information. Sorry I wish I could help more.
Hi Holly, this is really a great informative video. Now I know that my "Madame Cornely" has perfect timing. However, I can't understand the needle height thing. With this "ideal needle setting" I get bushy loops on the fabric similar to the moss stitch and chain stitch setting. Maybe that's because the old nipples in my stock all have slightly different heights. if that is the cause then other users with antique machines and nipples will also get such "fluffy" results.
When the loops are sticking up above the fabric my first guess is that your spring underneath the table is not fully functioning. The last spring the thread goes through before the Looper is important and it needs to have as much back and forth spring action as possible. Take a look under your table while your machine is stitching verify that last spring is moving a lot and if not try to reorient the spring to get more action out of it should help you to get loops that lay down on the fabric I hope that makes sense
Hello, don't get me wrong, I have no problems with my slightly lower needle positioning when performing chain stitches. The (thread feed) spring is well positioned and works great. Only when I set the needle as high as described here do I get this moss effect. Maybe the nipple from the fourth... fifth... hand on my machine is just a bit short.🤷♂️ For me, that's the most plausible explanation why I have to lower the needle. Of course, with thicker materials I have to set the needle a little higher... and with thin ones maybe a little lower, but that goes without saying.

Ansewerd at 25:40. It's " on the up stroke" the important points are the alignment of the notch in the needle and the rotation of the Looper

Nipples height should be the same standard height. Singer nipples are different than Cornely's.
