Sorry but you guys are wrong about the map size, it doesn't have to either be bigger or more dense with stuff, it can be both, I don't know why you'd want a smaller map with how small GTAV feels
Gta4 feels massive because of how dense it is, gta5 feels bland cause theres nothing to do, gta4 is way smaller than gta5 but is somehow better. I hope gta6 is dense like gta4
I hope it is that big. Would make a lot of sense as to why the game has taken so long. I very much see VI as the "GTA San Andreas" of our time. I suspect Lucia's ankle monitor that we may be locked to certain areas. It also gives credence to laying low in other areas across the state. I can see Rockstar focusing on side missions/encounters in these rural areas. But for most casual gamers, the highway system will blow through large swaths of rural land. Leaving a lot of places for Easter eggs. I do suspect, though, that the North part of Leonida may not be present at release. It makes sense to me that in order to preserve time that they may very well just focus on the areas of Port Gellhorn and Vice and add the northern portion either through the Online component, or as DLC in future years. Either way, I'd love a massive map that would take ages to explore!
It would be interesting if the scale of the map made airplane travel actually meaningful. Maybe there's a whole lot of nothing between the cities (of which there's plenty in Florida), so you could take a 30 min road trip and enjoy the view, or hop in a plane and fly to the other side in 10.
This would be perfect, the water and setting of Miami in general gives more purpose for the water than GTA V had. And with a much bigger map, like you said, it would give a reason to take a plane trip! So few people actually travel by flying in GTA V unless they're just trying to kill others. This would give a good reason to and also you can make it interesting by flying low by every single city and town and dodging so much more
30 second flight times across a map really are pointless. I'd love it spaced out to allow slightly more realistic travel times. Throw in fast travel options for the impatient.
Wish the guys would do a retrospect because in reality, Vice City, San Andreas and 4 are brilliant. The rest, in particular 5 have aged so poorly. I HATE GTA5 it's just "old" feeling where others don't. RDR2 and RDR are timeless masterpieces.
I realized recently that maybe the "statewide" wanted system from RDR2 might return in GTA 6 in the form of the various counties in Leonida, I'd imagine that in the game counties like Vice-Dale, Kelly and Leonard county from the will be locked off depending on the point in the story, or getting up to 5 or 6 stars in a county can cause the area completely lock down and become dangerous to enter since the player would be wanted in the area for a set amount of time. Maybe bounties will be in the game too.
Call it a stretch, but code name fireball could refer to the rapper Pitbull. One of his most famous songs is “Fireball” released in 2014. Pitbull is from Miami, FL. 2014 is probably around the time GTA VI started early development. The song itself would seem to fit the party nightlife aesthetic that was super prevalent in the trailer, and very fitting for Miami. Edit: just realized that it was once project americas, so my 2014 theory probably doesn’t make sense. Although could it be possible to have multiple code names for separate aspects of a project? So for example, americas related to the map/story and fireball is more of the music/social scene. From an internal perspective, it would make sense to split up a game so that what we are doing here isn’t as easy. If it was all under one name, links would be easy to find. I’m probably over speculating, but it’s fun.

It's already well established from the leaks (more than 1000 ambient events and super advanced NPC AI) that the game world is gonna feel more alive, I think that's their primary emphasis. If they're making it bigger too, I'm confident that won't come at the expense of detail and immersion, and I don't see a downside. Remember - V's map was designed for 2006-era hardware, shouldn't we expect that a game made for hardware two generations and 14 years further advanced will have a significantly larger map? Right now, we know a decent amount about the size of the South of the map courtesy of the mapping community, and it appears to be 2 or 2.5 times bigger than V's map, if there's more in the north too, including a panhandle, it could be 4 or 5 times bigger. It's pretty exciting to think about.
The map can be bigger and denser there doesnt have to be sacrifice in either, Rockstar are magician game devs and can pack in so much detail and now they have the current gen to work with, i think the map will be atleast 3x what V was. Regarding the map, the road signs for a "state road" (vs a 'US Highway' or 'County Road' or 'Interstate') in Florida do have the outline of the state with the road number imbedded (for lack of a better term) in the outline. If you see any of those in a trailer, if Rockstar took note of that and decided to do the same, you might see at least a rough outline of what Leonida will look like as a state. The state road signs are white-ish gray, for reference.

It does not take 20 minutes to move from North to South on GTA V’s map. It’s more like 5-10. GTA VI’s map for me needs to feel like RDR2 in terms of relative size. It takes around 15 minutes to move from Blackwater to Van Horn and around 20-30 minutes from Tumbleweed to Annesburg. Now I’m not sure scale wise what GTA VI would have to be with the much higher than horse speed, but it would be ideal. I would love being able to cruise on the highways for 20-30 minutes with high speed and not make a loop. I do think that quality and density of the map is more important, but if we’re going to be playing this game for 10+ years, I want quality and size.
the bigger the map the better. The real focus is going to be the longevity of online & we're gonna need room to breath for the 10+ years that GTA VI Online will exist
Thank you, someone that can see the future as I do, with RP Servers and Mods and future DLC's you need a lot of space that can lengthen the playability and longevity for GTAVI's Map. Look at GTAV right now, I know It was big and detailed for its time, the Map hasn't really survived after a Decade, and I know of the game was limited by that old Rage Engine. But it looks really small now, even with modding and RP servers online there is too much overplay in certin areas and being in the same place on a map gets really old, really fast, so having the whole State of Leonida really helps for the replayablity and leaving the space and room for the game to grow if Rockstar decides to expand Single and Multiplayer options.
@@winslowsart535 my only real concern with a larger map will be the potential for more flying vehicles. They will be an aid for crossing the distances but also a griefers wet dream.

The bigger the better, means flying will be more enjoyable as it will take longer to get from one end of the map to the other, and therefore feel like you can cruise at a high altitude
I had a thought about the size issue vs mass appeal. Obviously there are fast travel options, but what about simple mission/ story structure? If the missions actually guide players around where one mission ends not so far from where another one or two kight start. This negates the need to drive too long. The option can still be there to not do every mission in the intended "mass appeal" order but if followed it helps those that want more structure.
One comparison I think we are missing as well is how big are expecting this map to be vs RDR2. Going back to GTA V O’Clock also, and what Lezlie Benzies said all that time ago, are Rockstar preparing a map this time that can be added to later on, for Gta Online, this next iteration will surely have to last as long if not longer than V
I will always take a massive map over a small map, I doubt we will have many if any missions take us all the way across the map, plus RP players are gonna love the amount of variety unlike sandy shores, so for players like me that don’t like the city settings as much I LOVE having a lot of rural land to explore unless I’m in a RP group
I believe it can be both bigger in area and density than the GTA V map, I'm personally fine with some open space as well, as long as they do SOMETHING with it, other than useless collectibles, whether it be main missions, strangers/freaks, random encounters, hunting/fishing, races, games, etc.
Not only can those bumper stickers represent the political atmosphere in the game, but if we are to believe that's the case then it's obviously also pointing out the hypocritical stance of the person because it's a gas powered car. The opposite, really, of those bumper sticker messages. Happy Wednesday!
Good job I didn’t listen to this one on Spotify. Love the work though. What radio stations do you expect and do you think they bring any back from Vice City?
I'd be interested to know your thoughts on GTA+ and whether that might have any impact on GTA 6, it might just be intended to juice the most lucrative GTA Online players, but I thought it could potentially be underway ahead of the launch to work out the kinks ahead of the new game. Could it play into James' (JJ's) days of the week theory? I also thought the map could expand over time with downloads, similar to major updates like Dogtown in Cyberpunk 2077.
I think for sure it will, battle passes ect have already set that precedent. Sub to this thing get rewards every month / week ect. Map extended overtime also feels realistic - JJ

Follow thi last fish supper!, additionally painkiller was not the original tweeter for the map info and was stealing content from 2 other sources atleast. Shame to see that miscredited. The bigger the better, means flying will be more enjoyable as it will take longer to get from one end of the map to the other, and therefore feel like you can cruise at a high altitude
Maybe vehicle speed will be completely different and they’ll compensate for the size of the map with increase how fast vehicles top out at.
That character description for project rush was for Davey's fib partner. Surprised you two didnt see that.
Collab with CyberVice I think that’ll be awesome
I had a thought about the size issue vs mass appeal. Obviously there are fast travel options, but what about simple mission/ story structure? If the missions actually guide players around where one mission ends not so far from where another one or two kight start. This negates the need to drive too long. The option can still be there to not do every mission in the intended "mass appeal" order but if followed it helps those that want more structure.
Hey will this episode drop on Spotify and other platforms? I was hoping to listen to it yesterday but it didn’t show up..
Yes it should! We'll check on it but it should be live already
@@GTAVI-oclocki dont see it on spotify, usually listen on my drive home!
@@GTAVI-oclockAWESOME!!! Thank you very much!
Great point.
I believe it can be both bigger in area and density than the GTA V map, I'm personally fine with some open space as well, as long as they do SOMETHING with it, other than useless collectibles, whether it be main missions, strangers/freaks, random encounters, hunting/fishing, races, games, etc.
I play MSFS 2020 and the map is pretty huge
Good evening fellas, once again.
Not only can those bumper stickers represent the political atmosphere in the game, but if we are to believe that's the case then it's obviously also pointing out the hypocritical stance of the person because it's a gas powered car. The opposite, really, of those bumper sticker messages. Happy Wednesday!
Was thinking that myself... save the bees, drives gas guzzler
A bigger map could also means faster cars and airplanes
I swear I just watched last episode a day ago and it's Wednesday again
Welcome back;
Good job I didn’t listen to this one on Spotify. Love the work though.
What radio stations do you expect and do you think they bring any back from Vice City?
Ohhh we have a whole episode coming up about the music and radio stations.
11:43 kind of looks like a gun
That blob looks more like a gun than anything
Pretty sure Mitch Hayes or whatever is Steve Haines the main bad guy for Michael with the FIB 23:55
Would love to have that giant hand drawn map!……love big maps!
Have a look on the subreddit someone pointed out that it’s not a map of the state on the bumper sticker it’s a parody of the key west flag. Have a look! It’s so obviously that.
We'll talk about this on the show next week
Looking forward for this one ❤❤❤
I can’t wait for GTA six :-) it only took me 15 minutes I clocked it to get from the city up to the county by car😀
I’m glad this game feels more mature than gta 5.
OH MY GOD STOP BREATHING INTO THE MIC PLEASE I BEG
Ikr they need some noise gates fr
Can you time code some moments of this for us? We're really keen to fix it.
@@GTAVI-oclockListen with headphones, 5:40-5:50. It’s pretty much the whole way through tho. Still loving these episodes tho!
I want to get lost in the Bermuda Triangle.
So do we!
I think I comment this every few weeks, but I'm so disappointed in GTA V. I hope VI is a sunny, humid GTA IV with lunatic Floridians.
Same. It was cool on the 360, but there were very little improvements if any when brought to PS5. They could have opened the interiors, modernized some of the physics to justify the costs.
It was great for it's time. It was made for the Xbox 360 era though you have to remember.
@buddhamack1491 But so was IV. I think in the end V just felt a bit hollow and superficial for me
@@philiptaylor8223 IV was fantastic, definitely better in some ways. Hopefully they'll mash all of the things people loved about all the previous games into VI, along with wonderful new things.
We can dream!
Nice cities with red dead open world on a map 3 times bigger than gta 5? Sign me up, baby
Put James and Dan in GTA 6, Rockstar! Make it happen.
We're ready to book those tickets!
Keep it up
Ive been replying gta4 recently and my god i hope the driving and city density is like that in gta6 maybe tune down the suspension physics a bit😂 but rockstar definitely needs to take notes from gta4
Radio Hinterland nice
We need a gta 6
It's weird, AC Valhalla is so awful because the game is littered with crap to do. But I'd happily have all that stuff in GTA6. It's like Rockstar make a world and put no actual content in it, it's a playground to mess around and I'm not 14 anymore, I can't go on a killing spree, get chased by Police AI and call that a fulfilling weekend.
Maybe he's a radio voice for selling the clothing brand hinterland like on a advertisement break on a radio station as a radio announcer, or maybe nothing to do with GTA 6 atall only time will tell.
Its a cannon. From what i see.
shouldve had the rdr2 map and the gta v map fpr better scale
The video is muted guys
Load the video again, it's fine now
Peoples idea of map size is weird. Gta5 really isnt big. The city is about 1.5 miles wide
Mans breathing hella hard in the mic. It’s distracting.
Apologies. We'll make sure this is fixed
Bigger is better in this case! 🤤
Get out of it with making everything condensed and close together.
I like how it feels real with things spaced apart. Also the GTA V map isn't huge.
The mad max map and just cause 3 maps make GTA V map look like a postage stamp
Why more airports for one city? 😂
Could be one n airport, and various air strips and air fields.
Often there are major airports for commercial airlines and local airports for small aircraft
Why not? London has 6 and LA has 5 and London is tiny in comparison.
@@deetsitmeisterjd fly from same city to Same city? Not worth it unless city is big
Omg you guys!😂 you can already fast travel and have been able to since gta 4. It's called taxi cabs.😂😂
Well what do you expect from young generation that's only play GTA online, even in gta 5 story mode taxi basically fast travel as well.
@HUNK__S they were doing this channel pre gta v
Wait, we know that. What are you referencing?
@@GTAVI-oclock I'm talking about this 14:31
Bumper sticker is a parody flag of the keys. BOOM debunked.
Follow thi last fish supper!, additionally painkiller was not the original tweeter for the map info and was stealing content from 2 other sources atleast. Shame to see that miscredited.
As for the size and length of travel theres much more to it, even next gen gta v has much faster speed limits on vehicles because streaming is faster and therefore things can move across the space much quicker. So thats not an issue if anything a faggio could take an hour but a super car might take 25 minutes like gta v was.
I'm pretty sure there will be a panhandle on the main map, it makes sense if GTA 6 is set in the state of Leonida, I'll be very surprised if there isn't. (just like how I think there HAS to be a Bermuda Triangle)
Bigger is better for sandbox games

I really hope Jason character is a Right wing, and he goes hunting and fishing along with being a police officer
a right wing cop that kills other cops? unlikely
He definitely looks like he will be. Looks like a true Floridian guy.
Looks like a tough character
Police officer? You think he might be an undercover agent?
@@buddhamack1491Or an informant
Hhhh
Bro, work on your breathing. It’s so irritating.
Lads I love the show but please cut out the nasal breathing down the mic.
Can you time code this so us? Really want to make sure we're catching it in future
