Adding the need to fuel cars doesn’t have to be tedious. The frequency of needing to fuel the car could have a similar cadence to needing to feed your horse/rest in RDR 2. I never found that mechanic to be tedious or get in the way of fun. It would add bit of much needed color to the quite frankly stale car mechanics of the GTA franchise. Having to fill up your gas could make you prepare a "get-away car," which the car Lucia and Jason could be riding away in. What if rockstar addressed gas/electric efficiency in cars? Maybe some trucks are gas guzzlers, while others can go around the map twice before it runs out? This is already a big post, and you see how far in I am. So...
Playing devils advocate… I’m a gameplay programmer so I’m running by you the rollercoaster of my mind as if colleagues & I were talking about this. If you have a gameplay element as large as fueling up your vehicle, why would that mechanic only be implemented during heist or getaways? There’s a huge disconnect off the bat but moving forward. Lets say fuel was only implemented with those missions. Mmm, we have a 15 min mission roughly with 8 of those mins dedicated to getting away. I would have to tune fuel consumption numbers with all possible car models to nearly run out before those 8 mins to create tension. And also tune consumption to punish those who didn’t prepare correctly. Running ballpark numbers through my head, that fuel consumption would have to be so aggressively gameified in order to make the mechanic make sense in mission, I think it would create too much of a disconnect between that & the open world. The open world would fall apart with those numbers. That’s not even accounting for electric vehicles & gameplay ramifications. Now I’m thinking about gas stations in proximity of mission locations. If I’m preparing for a mission, I would have to keep in account that drive between fueling up & getting to the mission itself. What if I fueled up & had to drive 2 mins down the road? That’s 25% of my tank gone! That’s if we keep the rough math of consumption in line with the mission structure. But we can just bring gas canisters with us & fill up at the mission. So now we introduced a whole other element with canisters that we have to account for. Ok…so 5 gallon canisters are common place. So am I fueling up 3 canisters to fill up an average tank of gas now? First off, that makes no sense because who interacts with the world like that? Secondly, it just isn’t fun. Thirdly, the disconnect is almost too much. Cars have more than enough fuel to drive across states. But here we are gassing up for a quick getaway drive? I think this is way too messy of a mechanic to be implemented correctly. The closest mountain range to Florida is the blue ridge mountains in the state of Georgia, I believe the potential for parts of Georgia to be included has been discussed on this podcast before. Regardless the amount of cites included in the game and the huge potential for a section of the game set in either Cuba or South America could make up for the lack of topography.
Florida isn't all that flat. South Florida is mostly flat, yes, but even up towards Orlando, Tampa, Daytona Beach, there are hills. No mountains here, but the I-10 corridor (from Jacksonville on the Atlantic Ocean to Pensacola, by the border of Alabama) there are definitely hills and even some rather sizeable ones. If you're driving up from the east to our state's capitol building (whose shape would fit in very well with some of Rockstar's more... naughty themes...) is on top of a hill that is rather steep. If you want a good laugh, do a quick google search, something along the lines of "what shape does Florida's capital look like? But I digress... Flat in south Florida, yes. But the northern half is rather hilly. And yes, "topography" is definitely a word. Cheers!
I second this. Never been to Florida myself, but my best friend grew up in Georgia and always said the same. And I also still wonder if we’re going to get part of Georgia. And like the guys were saying, the game doesn’t have to be 1:1, so I hope they take the picture you’ve painted and embellish on this a little.
I know it's a little late, but I'd like to thank you guys for covering the "story leak" on the previous episode. As one of active creative writers on GTAForums, I can assure that you guys are right. Someone has unfaithfully modified TheHoover69's concept and passed it as leaks. GTA Concept Writing has been a huge part of GTAForums since GTA IV era. We're just happy to imagine our own GTA games and that includes our vision of the upcoming GTA VI. So if anyone sees another "detailed leak" circulating around, verify it. It could be the same case of an irresponsible someone making use of the forums' concept threads. Please kindly avoid the leak, visit the original threads instead, and inform others. Don't be afraid to show us some supports :)
Well in the leaked gameplay there are little mountains seen and a mountain curvey road going upwards behind the Waffle restaurant you can see for just a few frames. Also the general country side footage doesn't look like Florida to me. Theres a chance they might do Georgia to some sort, which is why i am hopeing we get to see more of the north part of the map in the next trailer/screenshots since in the leak somehow there is almost nothing found about that map side of things. But fair to say in that leak, even what we saw looked very unfinished, which may can be just that they made Miami first and then focused on expanding towards the north. Also there is some interesting weather dynamics in Georgia and other areas where there is sometimes very cold winters with even snow because of the mountains. It would be a nice opportunity to make a contrast in that area against the sunny lively Miami city.
Not that I’m against it at all however I always felt that vice city even though it was small it had a great map. I don’t believe you need mountains or hills to enjoy the beauty of the landscape but if they do include it then it will be nice. Also all of the mechanics from RDR2 I would love to see return. Hunting, eating, hot/cold and also only carrying limited amount of weapons and storing more in your vehicle. I also install mods to make it more survival like. Also would love to see some new mechanics such as fuel for vehicles. As always amazing work guys and I love watching your videos every week. I get excited for every Wednesday
When the game comes out it’ll be 2025. No reason in 2025 we can’t have an option for more or less realism. If you want to fill up gas in your car it should be a selectable option. In ghost recon breakpoint, there is this thing called “world parameters” every single thing in the game is customizable to how you want to play it. Rockstar could easily do this, and should.
Have not watched the episode yet, but have you guys talked about coffee dynamics yet? I think it would be really cool if when you order a drink, you can ask how you like it and that would affect your cores. What do you think?
the way the lines are cut together in the trailer honestly reminds me of movie trailers that would play before movies in theatres or on dvd. feels like they used that same sort of technique
From what i remember the 3 characters were atop the building like that talking to each other in the Blitzkrieg mission - not sure it was a misdirect. I know it happens, its' just i dont think that moment is one of them.
It’s funny you should point this about masking the story because I always thought that when Lucia and Jason break in the the store and make it look like a robbery. 1. The store is shut so why would you have guns up in the air and 2. Jason looked left and right like he’s looking at people
OMG I've got it I think!!!! Listening to the isolated audio, and how soft and caring the "gonna get through this" line is. I think she has a daughter. And now I'm convinced the scenes towards the end are them going to pay to get her daughter back! Mark my words!
Florida is really flat unlike California so they are making the state of Leonida based off of Florida so they can add a lot more stuff like cities especially because Leonida in gonna be 2 times larger than San Andreas
I swear you guys have never spoke about skateboards on GTAVI O'clock, I might be wrong tho. It's ironically the one thing I've wanted you guys to discuss, skateboards, maybe you can do an ollie and kickflip, if they add grinding you can also utilize the environment in a new way. Different options other than the bmx would be sick
lmao imagine having a mission like blitz play but the car that was supposed to have full gas but maybe it got a leak or something so one of your friends has to drop off another car or imagine a plane but your buddy has to do a midair refuel
In DayZ you have to open the food container before you eat it. If you don't have a can opener/knife, you can't eat the food. I'm not saying this amount of detail would be good for GTA but those mechanics are out there. I do like the idea of fueling a vehicle but only for the interesting element it would add such as stealing a getaway car that turns out has no fuel.
I was just about to say this. Marvel did alot to build up hype. One I can remember I think it was no way home and they had a scene in the trailer of both iron man and spiderman together flying and swinging through the city
@@Mucker-le6ld they can’t keep them out of their mouth though, so I think the opposite. Conspiracy time! Bonnie and Clyde is the public facing side of the trailer, it's what anyone would think of from watching it. Bonnie and Clyde were a team nothing could get between B&C, but between J&L there's a K factor, a kid? An antagonist? A love triangle? Silly, but it's a throwaway thing i can see getting posted on gaming news websites as a hidden easter egg that's been around from the very beginning in two years time
Haha i see so many people getting mad because this game is going for immersion instead of the arcade feel gta v was in, you don’t have to buy the game! I will buy it twice if not more anyway, they are not losing money if you are upset😂
I think it would be cool to add a bit of generic Appalachian Mountains to the north. It's not that far from FLA. Could add plenty of strangers and freaks stuff, and Bigfoot of coarse.
You could have all of those things you talked about added into the game simply done by animation. You wouldn't have to do it. It would just be part of the animations. Games have been non-realistic forever, it's time that we change our pace and move towards realism. Red Dead already started doing this with shaving, bathing and many other things.
I think it's very funny the way people try to construct the entire narrative/story of GTA VI from just the few lines in the trailer. So in their theories it's always about *just* their relationship, and they said the word "Trust" so there's gotta be betrayal, and stuff like that. If we did the same for GTA Vs first trailer, it is now a game about being a retired dad.
GTAV is a game about a retired dad? That's Michael's entire arc… he's 'made it', retired, has big family issues, and it's the thrill / danger of what he used to do that lures him back. Obviously, the game isn't all about attending therapy sessions and school sports days, but it is intrinsic to who Michael is. Know what you're saying
Hello friends, I noticed that your voices sound very harsh, and I have to lower the volume because it hurts my ears. If you are using audio engineering, please lower the hz because it is very sharp.
I would love the gas and gas stations, but the distance should be consistent with reality. And I would also love no gas bar on UI, but rathat you could look in first person to speedometer. Lucia and Jason would also have like 100 diferent cool sound lines of "Getting low on gas". That would be so cool :D
Oh I don't doubt for a second this trailer is packed with misdirection, and the next trailers won't be any different. If I had to guess any scene that's been switched, Lucia in the bikini is my guess, it feels quite out of place given the general vibes the trailer gives, her being at some sort of rich people penthouse party doesn't match the petty crimes we see her and Jason doing.

Extrapolation is back, thanks guys! 😂
I think there will be a massive cave system, with a new mystery, america is full of them, there's a really famous one that's actually at a theme park.
I would love if Queen of Kings was one of the songs on the radio in GTA 6🇳🇴
😂 These fellas are THIRSTY for news at this point
@@Pmccaff2009 it's almost like some new news is dream like...
Franklin was in the first trailer too, in the red sports car
and CJ😎😂😂
Yes, Play-Doh Frank was indeed in the trailer.
This is why we need dream extracting tech from Black Mirror so we can see these screenshots and videos
@@JamieAubrey totally agree. If only you could have seen what JJ saw.
Hahaha, Dan had a few things to say about exactly this (and not entirely positive)
the way the lines are cut together in the trailer honestly reminds me of movie trailers that would play before movies in theatres or on dvd. feels like they used that same sort of technique
Lol those gta 6 dreams... so we've all been there..
From what i remember the 3 characters were atop the building like that talking to each other in the Blitzkrieg mission - not sure it was a misdirect. I know it happens, its' just i dont think that moment is one of them.
Damn, now I’m hearing the differences in the dialogue clips. Definitely some clever editing going on.

I can't believe gta6 will also have air
@@MammanAnimations unconfirmed, for now
It’s funny you should point this about masking the story because I always thought that when Lucia and Jason break in the the store and make it look like a robbery. 1. The store is shut so why would you have guns up in the air and 2. Jason looked left and right like he’s looking at people
After re-watching the trailer again just now. I think they aren't robbing the store, but they have gone in to pay the money!
OMG I've got it I think!!!! Listening to the isolated audio, and how soft and caring the "gonna get through this" line is. I think she has a daughter. And now I'm convinced the scenes towards the end are them going to pay to get her daughter back! Mark my words!
If Lucia has a baby then that could be her previous lover in the motelroom in a flashback
Meat on the horse and tip of my brain cracks me up.
I also think bedroom/ heist guy isn’t Jason. The leaks guy looks really different.
I'd be more willing to entertain this theory if he wasn't also featured on the main key art with Lucia (and the car).
What happened to Tim Weaver (from the previous podcast)?
@@RedMisfit we're still in touch (he's writing awesome crime books now) hopefully we'll get him back as a guest one day
@@GTAVI-oclock I think I speak for all the fans of this show by saying, we would ❤️ that!!
Marvel was famous for editing their avengers end game trailer to mask the story
Mafia 2 did the filling up gas pretty well I wouldn't mind it if they applied like that
In DayZ you have to open the food container before you eat it. If you don't have a can opener/knife, you can't eat the food. I'm not saying this amount of detail would be good for GTA but those mechanics are out there. I do like the idea of fueling a vehicle but only for the interesting element it would add such as stealing a getaway car that turns out has no fuel.
Don't you also need to have a can opener in RDR2 to eat canned food?
They need Atlanta and Alabama for mountains and hills expand GTA 6 Map
1 zillion percent agree fueling should be optional and hardly every run out it would be too demanding
I think it’s time for biweekly episodes.
Thor Ragnarok had an altered trailer like that. Hell, a lot of Marvel movies will scrub stuff from them
I was just about to say this. Marvel did alot to build up hype. One I can remember I think it was no way home and they had a scene in the trailer of both iron man and spiderman together flying and swinging through the city
No Hulk in the Endgame trailers come to mind. Funny, no-one even wants to watch the films or trailers anymore
@@Mucker-le6ld they can’t keep them out of their mouth though, so I think the opposite. People just want to see them do better but can’t express that in any other way than to say they fell off or no one’s gonna watch it. I have faith that we’re gonna see that that strike gave them time to retool and course correct.
@@joshuasimmons6693 it was Homecoming, but yes! In No Way Home they also scrubbed Tobey and Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Men
Ah yes, frame by frame analysis. Missed those times. Vice City wasnt a problem as it was flat too.
Had a dream where they announced the release for Sept 18th 2025 woke up and released that V was 17th Sept 2013 haha
Conspiracy time! Bonnie and Clyde is the public facing side of the trailer, it's what anyone would think of from watching it. Bonnie and Clyde were a team nothing could get between B&C, but between J&L there's a K factor, a kid? An antagonist? A love triangle? Silly, but it's a throwaway thing i can see getting posted on gaming news websites as a hidden easter egg that's been around from the very beginning in two years time
there was rumors/leaks that Lucia and Jason have a kid and that's the main motivation behind their crime, you may be onto something
Refuelling will not be a thing in GTA VI I’m making that prediction now.
"Bullshot" is one of my favorite gaming terms lol
I wonder how in the hell Last of Us part II is going to be structured in the TV show.
Rockstar, please give this man some contente, we're talking about dreams rn wtf
@@gone8792 could you drop them an email?
@@stepik0dvo this isn't that unlikely. It'll be interesting to see at what level, if any, this gets implemented
Yeah, I don't want to have to refuel/recharge my car. The mafia II idea is much better.
I’m team DD with this. There will probably a mission that we fail multiple times and failing due to no petrol sounds shite and like a meme
Terminator 2 did it with Arnie..
The “Jason” character looks incredibly basic. I don’t think he’s the second protagonist
What is this comment 😂 did you even watch the leaks mate

@dark_mode Jack doesn’t have much sins to redeem. Micah on the other hand… And since R* loves killing off their protagonists, we already know how it ends ))
@dark_mode I think Sadie in South America would be more interesting.
Honestly, at this rate, all of us will be gone by the gta 7 release. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Other games are less realistic than GTA. I want GTA to be the most realistic game there is. When there is AI generated virtual reality I will then ditch GTA for that (if I live long enough)
Yes, everything is bait
Early again
Fuelling cars sounds miserable.
You two muppets have just ruined the Last Of Us tv show and second game (if there is one. Didn’t even finish the first one!)
NEVER SPOIL BIG DEATHS 😮😢😂!
But carry on doing the Stella job you do with this gta content/platform.
And refuelling cars in game would be cool so long as it’s incorporated so it’s not totally and always in your face and necessary. If they can make it so it’s more novelty/if you choose to. Maybe a must in a few missions
Also rockstar trailer being changed of tweaked? I certainly would prefer not to know the entirety of the storyline/plot/game before I’ve got the most from a probable £80+ game…
