For the longest time, I thought they had made a fighting game using the characters of the movie version of Fatal Fury but it turns out that after watching clips of this, it was just this game the whole time. The Obari designs character triggered a long lost memory and it finally settled it.

it was indeed a step on the raunchier side of town, mostly due to having tons more fanservice than what SNK allowed him to pull in the Fatal Fury OVAs and the downright stated incestuous affairs of the Platonic Twins, but overall it was a straight-up action show.
That's because the creator of both anime is the same, Masami Ôbari. He also created Virus series and many more, and his characters always look the same. :)

I prefer the Neo Geo CD version for its sound track. Its all vocal themes for each character done in a cheesy 70's-80's Super Sentai style opening. Makes the game much more enjoyable.
it's infuriatingly sad that a true genius of animation like Masami Ohbari, the main character designer of this game as well as the 4part animated OVA of it & the 3 Fatal Fury animated movies is now reduced to designing hentai (Angel Blade, Marin A Go-Go & Diva Mizuki). he needs to return to his true call: making amazing action anime like this. hope you guys agree with me!
If you are going to make a longplay of a fighting game don't show the same moves over and over again to the finish! It's very boring to look at, and have no purpose at all??
In concerning the debate of level-1 vids. I know that cubex longplays is not based on your skill level but it does supposed to be entertaining. When everyone is butter it's not as entertaining. (this is not for all vids, but just saying...)

The OVA for this game and Battle Arena Toshinden are among my favorites. I love Obari's work, especially from the late 90's.
