@@iamdondawsonIf Papa Roach had done the song slower, as Jacoby wanted when it was written, it never would’ve become the hit that it did. Radio won’t play Ronnie’s version. It’s too descriptive and visceral.
Ronnie is a very unique guy. His vocal range is amazing. He puts a lot of passion and emotion in his music. I don't care what it is he makes you feel it in your soul.
Wow I haven't thought about that soundtrack in ages but it slapped honestly. I listened to it like crazy.

The revisioned version video really at the beginning visualizes my depression. I can feel nothing and feel alone. And im geting help but Ronnie Radke gave me a visual of it.. and i thank him. Cause i felt alone too long

Hi Don, I liked your reaction because I see that there is no fake reactions, it is pure honest and I like that. The same way I have seen that you not always react positively to what you see... not like other serial reactors that are just a copy of each other. Therefore I would like to give you my congratulations! This kind of approach may not deliver you the views that other people get at the beggining (because the fans are looking only for possitive reactions). But you are the real thing! My advise, if you want to see yet another face of Falling in reverse is that you look at the songs "voices in my head" and "Zombified". Hope you will like them (but even if you don't like them, I hope you will be honest as you always are!)

This is one of those songs that the emotion behind the reimagined version is so powerful beyond words, I feel like it was meant to be. This is right alongside Hurt done by Johnny Cash for me. You can make something this masterfully without having gone through the pain. 💔❤️🩹
If no one else has suggested it, you should consider checking out Jacoby Shaddix's reaction of Ronnie's reimaginesd version of the song. It's something special.

I grew up with Papa Roach's song and I don't know what it is but i listened to this version of Ronnie a million times now and it still hits me hard everytime. I'm not an easy crier but this always gets me. Ronnie did something incredible here.

Since the first time I heard the reimagined version, I’ve said that the original is like a scream of exasperation and the reimagining is a plea of desperation. So good it hurts.
Great reaction, first time I’ve seen both videos back to back. The poppa roach version came out when I was a teen is the loud angsty teenagers ballad, the FIR is the more melancholy version that resonates with my age now.
People have already recommended their newest hits, but you should react to a few of the older songs too, like “God, If You Are Above…” “Born to Lead” “Chemical Prisoner” “Brother” “Fuck the Rest” “Self-Destruct Personality” “Just Like You” “Stay Away” “Raised by Wolves” and more! Their first 3 albums are just Amazing! Coming home has some good songs too

The best way I've seen these two songs described is papa roach's version is teenage angst raging against the world versus FIR's version is an aduld crying for help in a world as messed up as ours is today. Loved the reaction, keep up the good work!
You are right, the lyrics have such a different impact with the way Ronnie delivered them in this version of the song. Another comment recommended great songs to react to next. I’d also add the trilogy, but listen in this order for the full impact: Losing my Mind, Losing my Life, and Drugs.
A side note: I’d highly recommend checking out the band called Bad Omens. A great metal band that plays around with their sound and the lead singer Noah Sebastian has an amazing vocal range. Songs to consider: Like a Villain, Artificial Suicide, Death of Peace of Mind, and The Grey, but there are many more great songs by them.
I saw Bad Omens open for A Day To Remember in 2022, and I remember really enjoying their set! They’re on my list for future reactions!

Ronnie radke has such a vocal range, and i have listened to the original many times but never really listed to the lyrics before Ronnie's version.

@@iamdondawson Sean composed. orchestrated and played piano on this and the reimagined songs. Sean sent Ronnie the modern equivalent of a mix tape of classical versions of FIR and other songs. Sean is a youtuber and says there will be more songs coming out but won't spill the beans any further :)
If you like this, you should watch the original versions of The Drug In Me Is You, and I'm Not A Vampire and then watch the reimagined/revamped versions (both versions by Falling In Reverse)
I think Ronnie gives the text the right, worthy framework. The Papa Roach version is too rocky for the seriousness of the lyrics. That's exactly what Ronnie conveys in this song, the pain and the fight with and against evil thoughts. Surely only people who have psychological problems and fight their demons every day can understand this. How often her mental world collapses and threatens to bury her. How many times do you think, “I can’t go on like this” and fight your way out, only to find again and again, “Nothing is okay.” But you keep fighting, every day. They fight with all their strength against being buried under their collapsing world. The sad thing is that too many people lose this battle, ultimately running out of strength and being buried under their collapsing world.
To me who grew up with the papa roach version, I feel that the original is the person in the moment and the cover is the person years into the future looking back to that moment and remembering being in that situation.

That's the only perspective that makes me able to even get through. I personally love the original and find the reimagining lacking. Not lacking but..... some parts just don't match up i.e. Don't give a F if I... With a slow piano? That just sounds weird AF. Anyway, it did get better

@iamdondawson @stephinewade2973 I agree with both of you. I find that even though the Falling in Reverse one is good, it is lacking in the power of I don't know how to word it. I think about ferocity, madness, pain, hurt, and expressing it with the growling of the song. The new one is powerful but not in the same way, so it lacks.

same reaction when I first heard the Falling in reverse cover for Last Resort. A recommended band I personally like is From Ashes to New The Future album and All Good Things, Hope in Hell album. They are both Alt rock

If you want a really emotional punch, I highly recommend Brother by Falling In Reverse. Actually all of their songs I've heard are exceptionally good.

am a HUGE Creed fan. Human Clay was one of the albums that shaped me growing up. Also am a Falling in Reverse fan and i just subscribed because you have great taste obviously!!

Another cover that Falling In Reverse did was Coolio's Gansta's Paradise. From interviews, Coolio's son likes Falling In Reverse so Coolio approached them to have them do a cover. Coolio is also in the video.

In my opinion Disturbed's version is one of the best renditions of a song ever. I have tickets to see Falling in Reverse open for Disturbed in February. (I saw them open for Avenged Sevenfold in September but I mainly went for FIR. I love Disturbed also, so I can't wait)

Falling in Reverse are one of my favorites and the final testament (for me at least) to a band's/singer's talent is how good they sound live in comparison to their studio recordings and FIR was amazing live. I don't listen to Avenged Sevenfold as much but they were really good live. There music is loud and hits you and it was great. I'm so excited to see Disturbed. David Draiman seems like an awesome human and he has an awesome voice. I've wanted to see their version of The Sound of Silence in person ever since I saw them play it live on Conan.
While I love the Papa Roach version, I have to be in the mood to listen to it. Ronnie's version... it never gets old. I can listen to it 10 times in a row and I get choked up and goosebumps all over my body.. Every. damn. time. Last Resort has become Ronnie's song... he mastered it... completely. No question. He truly captured the true emotion behind the subject matter... sadness and desperation. I thank Papa Roach for the words to express feelings that are so hard to put into words... but Ronnie took those words and made us feel and process the pain in those words. I won't even get into the visuals in the videos... that just brings it all to a whole new level. Great reaction. I look forward to more of your content.
If you want another case where the vocalist singing a song changes the meaning in a massive way, give Hurt by Nine Inch Nails a listen and then listen to the cover of Jonny Cash
100%. Another far less serious example (although just as impactful) is Alanis Morissette’s version of My Humps by the Black Eyed Peas.
He has a good voice, but I prefer the original because it has that energy you spoke of. It loses it significantly. Two songs with two different emotions.

The the vocal and instrumental production and the music video are beautiful... buuuut, im not the biggest fan of this cover personally. Obviously its subjective and this isnt bad by any means, but im just not a fan of this one. Id recommend their original song coming home, beautiful imo.
