I dont want someone who has had a "boost" to operate on me. I dont want someone who has had a "boost" to fly the plane I am on. I dont want someone who has had a"boost" to teach my children, or drive my bus, or design and build my house, or wire my house, or fix my roof, or fight for me in court, or administer my drugs in hospital, or run my country, or work at my bank , or cut my hair, and the list could go on and on. This makes no sense !!!! No wonder the media has gone crap....they are all DEI hires.
How about this, if you want none of them even tho they have to pass the same exams regardless of race, the pass mark for Maori/Pacific islanders is the same as white people. What we will do is bring in more people from overseas to fill those jobs, train them up and they can do all the above for you. Lots of jobs are hard to fill for example in healthcare and we are constantly bringing in people to fill these jobs from overseas. Train our own NZ people, yes they might get a Boost in the right direction but least they are our own people.
@@johnjones5995
Not sure that pass mark is the same in all.types of work. There in lies the DEI problem. But if the standard of excellence were.to be the same then yes great idea.
If only....
And slowly the mainstream media are falling. Sooner the better. Idiots

It's thanks to DEI that a Navy ship sits at the bottom of the sea.
They tried to blame it on a fault with the auto pilot. What's a bet she's gone back to the UK and we are left one ship down. The Royal Navy owe us a ship. 😂
Also looks why what was it 68 people went swimming the other night.

But the good news is that government and the mainstream media haven't covered it up.
As a woman who’s worked in civil construction for 40 years operating heavy machinery I can tell you from first hand experience DEI sucks. I’ve noticed in the last couple of years I’ve been getting the side eye from contractors when they see me in a rig. I can tell by the concern on their faces that they worry I’m in the rig BECAUSE IM A BLOODY WOMAN. Once I’ve proved myself AGAIN they relax. But this is because of DEI. The fact the boss entrusts me in a 3million dollar rig shows I’m competent but that fact doesn’t cross their mind. All they see is a woman and boom, I’m only there BECAUSE I’m a woman. And to top it off I’m half Samoan so I’m a “double” diversity hire. Bloody insulting. All my years earning my stripes down the drain
Your story is an example of the side effect of DEI. Every time I see a senior woman in the public service I have to ask myself, are they there because they earned the job and are capable, or are they a token, there by quota.
Thats so bad, DEI where merrit wins you the position, but they put DEI above merrit🙄. Stay strong, what a crappy struggle to have to cope with. All those "special" attention seekers did this.
Same as cross dressers and all the other fettishes ruining the gay and trans rights struggle.
Keep going. I have heard from other women in the industry that they care for their rigs much better than men???? and favored by bosses because of that. Don't know if it true or not but a great thought. Would suspect it has to do with the people's personality as well.
@@xxyzz-j7othey are also less likely to tell the boss to get fxcked.

DEI is basically hiring someone because you "feel sorry for them." Rescuing is not the answer - we have to encourage people to rise up by challenging them to be the best irrespective of whether they are women, men, white, red, black, etc. . Let's have a merit based and colourblind society - and nobody will worry if the work will get done without putting lives at risk.
Aren't the Olympics merit based.
That's true merit.

On that note though, we’ve had this for decades in our classrooms where pupils are never placed or compared, yet out on the sports fields the opposite occurs. Your bang on. Working in the steel industry in NZ we have a DEI policy to hire 30% women and extra % for 'others'. Its hard to not see people hired as DEI hires. Never had so many absentees, HR complaints, staff turn over or staff moral so low as it is now. The normal workers dont feel like they get a fair go at promotions without feeling like they have to put their gender or race as 'other' now. The quality and work environment has deteriorated and management don't want to know because they get a bonus if the meet their DEI hiring target. I want hiring on merit back.
I bet HR are as useless as tits on a bull too. HR people are just as guilty of this DEI promotion.
And real workers prolly in tiptoe waiting for HR to come crashing does for a offending joke
@@jasperhorace7147- and, ironically, HR is dominated by women
But there doesn’t seem to be any sort of programme to get more men into HR
Why don’t they want to redress that gender imbalance? 🤔
Thats exactly the case, its already happened about 5 cases in the last three years in a small plant alone. And it's often being used now to advance positions by bringing a grievance and then miraculously the complainant get promoted. Middle management know its all BS but HR and Upper management follow the grievance and get a kick out of it.

I remember the annual cross country at primary school. The teacher let the slowest start first. Then the medium, then the fastest last. Then me, twenty seconds after everyone else. This was unfair on me. I still won. But the slowest people actually felt even worse because they were favoured. And they resented me even more for beating them anyway. This type of 'equity' breeds trouble and division rather than fixing it.
That's the idea unfortunately, Stingray..A practice designed to cause disruption.

the medical training system for doctors at otago is pretty bad , out of 300 positions 120 are reserved for maori , pacifica and refugees , and they need lower marks to get in , buggered if i want a minority doctor i want the best

I would like to see both groups given multiple tests where subjective marking is impossible, pitting the 160 non DEI's against the 140 DEI's. It has to be non subjective (answers that are either right or wrong) or there is still a chance of markers grading the DEI's softer due to political pressure favouring and possibly promoting university professors with greater numbers of DEI graduates (reward for demonstrably conforming to the political agenda). If a greater number of the 160 non DEI''s consistently score higher than the 140 DEI's that tells us that had all programme recruits required the same marks (alll non DEI) we would be demonstrably more likely to have gotten a more intelligent and aguably more capable group of doctors graduating overall (all 300 non DEI rather than a mixed group of 160 non DEI and 140 DEI). Also, the argument 'the best isnt always the one with the highest marks' doesnt wash with me either because high intelligence and great bedside manners aren't mutually exclusive, you can have both. DEI is based on replacing the orthodox narrative with one from the margins. A noble idea except those that are marginalized are often in the margins because they are so diverse, so unorthodox and so personally challenged that placing them in any authoritative position within the mainstream would result in mayhem. And this is what has occurred within the Greens, Labour in parts and other organizations. And we should remember that diversity has its own exclusions. Particularly if you are conservative, white, straight or Christian; sorry, then you are NOT included, NOT regarded as diverse and will be regarded with both suspicion and derision. And if you raise an objection, then you are labelled and cancelled.

DEI is not about fairness, it is about seizing resources without paying for them. Labour have always pushed this kind of thinking, saying they're protecting people or the environment, whatever, by taking their measures. Ardern took this to another level by also using the tag, kindness. You mention trans, but this is only there to ensure the right people are in the right positions, to divert resources. When I say resources, I mean Capital, Land and Labour. If you control all these, you own the country. The current direction will never be corrected by the existing parliament. Luxon is moving left as I write this, along with his entire team. If you are a centrist like me now, you're far right. National are against farmers, business, churches, you name it. They embrace the woke agenda which is against all these things. The media are the guard dogs, employed to enforce the rules. It is a recipe for disaster, and may see NZ cease to exist in the not-too-distant future.
