Ceradust basically Yamigato tried to go to his phinal phase but he got ineterupted or something and that made him create a clone of his phinal phase by mistake. so basically the real Yamigato couldn't achieve his final phase with the disturabanse that Gao and his friends so he got saperated from his phinal phase. Not sure if you'll understand both explanation or not.
Ceradust Gao and co. interrupted Yamigedo during his final evolution phase and he accidentally made a copy of his final form by mistake, so that's why there's 2 Yamigedoes, that help?
His character just couldn’t be improved anymore, his past was he was obsessed with winning in martial arts and accidentally injured someone and made sure not to become obsessed again, has a strong sense of justice, is just awesome in general, he lost a brother to an unspecified Illness (I suspect cancer but it could be anything), by this point his character was being dragged out. Luckily Ace so far is pretty good, except the fights seem less intense, and the FUCKING NARRATOR OH MY GOD SHUT UP ALREADY FOR THE LOVE OF GOD NOBODY LOVES Y-
