Many times when a woman tells the new man what the men in her past did to her, the new man (when he gets mad) turns around and does the exact same things. Not only is it publicly known that Candi was abused over and over, but I believe in my heart she naively confided in each new man, which would set her up to be abused again. Example: She tells the new man, "my ex husband knocked the phone out of my hand, slapped me to the ground, then made me have sex with him". That becomes a fantasy in the new guys mind and he then uses that information to start the same behavior. Only thing the new person needs to know is that you respect yourself, and any signs of abuse (verbal or physical) means goodbye.
My comment is a question In Jamaica where I’m from and still reside Candi’s song “Stand by Your Man” was number 1 song on both radio stations and there wasn’t a night club or disco that it wasn’t played. But it wasn’t mention in this historical piece on Candi. Can you say why?
So do I. I always loved Tyrone's voice. My mother and I sometimes debate on who was a better singer: Tyrone or Johnnie Taylor? As great a singer as Johnnie was, it was something about Tyrone that pulled me closer to the good 'ol soul sound.
