I can't even believe this was even possible because one of the main things holding this back was a clean water source since soaking up radiation will get dangerous plus you can't use items.
An incredible video, and congratulations on your hard-fought victory against the true enemy of any New Vegas run: Fallout: New Vegas. I look forward to seeing your next videos and streams.
@@matrialeagle2788 That is actually hilarious to think about in any context other than this run. It would kind of make sense honestly, so I'm incredibly glad that was not the case

literally the most stupid idiotic stupid run i've ever seen. magoodog you're insane, glad i subscribed to someone who might be the only person in the world who doesn't lie
Yeah, I would imagine fallout four’s survival mode actually makes this significantly easier, since survival mode is a difficulty setting above very hard, and it completely recalculates how damage is dealt making you way stronger, as opposed to fallout new Vegas, where the survival mechanics are added on top of bullet sponge ‘very hard’ Bethesda enemies. Also, if I’m not mistaken, I think in fallout four, if you were to use this exact rule set, I think you may actually be able to find suits of power armor that get around it, Since I don’t think the power armor pieces actually end up in your inventory, they are technically stored on the power armor frame (provided there was a fusion core already in the frame)
Yeah, thats worth a subscription. Cheers man this was hilarious and painful. The problem solving to exit the brotherhood bunker was such a beautiful misuse of game mechanics!
@Ivan4n09 That was actually how I got out when the ranger cornered me in the room with Crocker. Only reason I didn't directly mention it is because anytime I used it just delayed things a bit so I could get to an NCR civilian. The ranger is pretty fast, so once he gets close, the chances of me getting to stop punching to do any action is slim, which usually led to a reload anyway.
So let's imagine the events from about 1:30:00 onwards as though those four Paladins were real people; what they experienced was an encounter with a being who had achieved CHIM and was acting to achieve a goal which would be absolutely incomprehensible to them. From their perspective some red-haired psychopath, barefoot and in his undies, comes running into the bunker and they come out expecting to take him prisoner. When he starts throwing punches against their power armor they think their laser weapons will turn him into an ashy red smear. Instead this nameless outsider just won't stop punching - the punches aren't doing much but he just won't stop and refuses to die! Now he's warping around from place to place in the blink of an eye landing punches and stomps on them, impossibly quick movements. That goes on until they witness one of their friends gets punched so hard he's knocked down despite being in power armor. Then with dread they can only look on as their downed comrade has his body warped in impossible ways, as though the stranger's punch was powerful enough to alter the state of reality and begin ripping the Paladin between dimensions until he finally gets snapped back to this reality and tossed around like a ragdoll. And all this time the Paladins are *certain* they've killed him hundreds of times during this fight. Only for time itself to run in reverse to a few seconds ago and the events repeating over and over until things go differently and in favor of the wastelander. Now they're trapped fighting this stranger who is motivated by some inexplicable need to keep punching them and there's nothing they can do to escape this unwinnable fight. That's got to be the worst thing, though, right? Realizing that this is the manifestation of a being who is so immensely powerful he can alter space and time, it's obvious he could snap them out of existence, and instead he's *choosing* to beat them to death with his bare fists.
@@MAGOOdog Thanks. :D Incredibly good videos btw. Honestly, huge respect for setting yourself up with stupidly tough challenges like this (and not just chugging healing items while beating the game on the easiest difficulty but just in some tedious way). It's really impressive that you cut down and edit together hours and hours of stream footage like this and then present it with entertaining narration and editing.
@Tebbylous I appreciate you saying so! I know it's a gamble to click on a 1-2 hour video from a creator you've never heard of before, so I just appreciate people giving me the chance. I try my best to set my challenges apart from a lot of what else is out there so it feels unique in the space. I'm glad to hear that some people are seeing it that way!
@@MAGOOdog Actually the first video I watched wasn't this one but the "Beating Skyrim Without a Mouse" one. Which I clicked on thinking I wouldn't watch it, skipped to the middle, went "...Why does he have the mouse on his head?" And then just had to watch the whole thing :D I do have one criticism: Consider doing a bit more clickbait on the thumbnails (it's only bait if you don't deliver!). It's not like I'm a *fan* of the meta for thumbnails but it is what it is! So I'm half convinced that if the "no mouse" video had you with the mouse on your head in it? It would've gotten more people to click-through, there would've been people like me who'd go "Why has this guy got a mouse on his head...?". Granted youtube's algo is capricious and unknowable, but the thumbnails and titles really are the one thing you can futz with to get people in through the door as it were.
@Tebbylous I will say that youtube has a "test and compare" feature for thumbnails which allows you to upload 3 and it tracks which one performs best. Up until now, every time I have put my face in one, it performs about 15% worse than ones that don't. I think people hesitate to click on a face they don't know sometimes. I'll likely try some more tests with that kind of thing in the future, but I just figured I'd say why I didn't go that route on the no mouse vid in particular. I'm always working to improve on the thumbnails though! Glad you enjoyed the video!

@Sisyphus_MMV that's what I did for most of the run. I think the clip you probably saw was when I was drinking irradiated water and I was just going slow there to make sure I didn't get too much radiation. I regularly drank water to fully heal at the beginning so I typically just held to drink until at full HP
@Sisyphus_MMV Not at all! I think I included a couple of clips of single drinking, and to be totally fair, at the beginning of the run, someone in my chat DID have to remind me of that (or teach me? Not sure if I forgot or never knew lol). So I appreciate you saying so to check!
