doctor diggs, i found out where we can get platinum rod crafting recipe. its in story chapter 4-3-6... it is strange because the recipe itself mention no obtainable quest.. but the thing is it cannot be craft because it requires some limited materials that we cant get(marlboro tentacles) which only available in etre training quest. so i wonder if we could get marlboro tentacles somewhere else maybe in story chapter achievements? anyway do you know where can i farm wizard hat recipe in story chapter? i do want to craft wizard hat because i think that is the only doable since its crafting materials is available in many chapter.

Ive made a few Mythril Armours, but I just dont think any of what is available in the game currently is worth spending resources on. Better off farming, spending as little as possible & saving what you harvest.
You dont have to get smart coat high till later anyway the spirit roll defends against the spell blades and gilgamesh it's not just for mages that's why u dont need a high + on it
If I take a helm with - 8 evade and equipment with +12 evade what is my total? +4 or +12 since they only take the highest. Also, can u take a hero ring +6 evasion and stack with another +18 evade from Mythrial armor giving us +24 evade. I use hero ring +5 for evasion +6. Cheap & Easy to get/build
For your first question: They subtract from eachother. For your second question the "Box" Stat does stack with Evasion from other gear. We tested both of these on stream. :)
glad i watched this before i went in too deep i have a smart coat +1 right now ill hold off there and just focus on my mythril armor i have a circlet +1 but that happened before the event so yeah that'll get broken back down lol and my sage hat is +1 right now i'll focus that too thanks for the info
hey there, your video has been very insightful ! great work ! I have a mytril armour at lvl 50 now, dodge type. I have been using evade seal on every leveling up. I end up with a 10/18 evade. May i know what went wrong? how do i fix it?
You see that dodge hammer? Bang your armor a few more times =P. I did a few tests first at the start, if the dodge value succeed 4 or 5 times than i will continue. I am only using normal, +1 and +2 armor for trial, so the cost of reset is pretty low at start.
Regarding the coat, I think the main issue is spirit sand which is abundant in the Brutal one (good Multi required). Are you aware if there will be events in the future that will give us the spirit sand? Also, I just found you, I like how the information is presented. Subbed and will take a look at your other videos :)

Hi Doc, I need another prescription: I am looking for an armor for my LB4 Thancred. He currently has Lionheart Replica +4 Assault and Mont's TMR. I'm looking at Mirage Vest but I'm not sure as to which type and up to how many + is efficient for F2P. Also, I have a Mythril Armor +2 Dodge on my Gaff. If I'm going to follow your suggestion of not going for +5, how many seals and hammers do I need to get the optimum Evade 18? Thanks! 🍻
Gafgarion would probably be better served by an iron plate+5 but if all you have is mythril armor you should probably just grab that +18 EVA. For Thancred I would think maybe investing in a Smart coat right now would be the best option? Just maybe not a +5 version. Since it will defend him against spellblades as well. That being said I don't own a Thancred so I can't be 100% sure of the advice.
For Thancred it all depends on what tmr your using, if your using monts then go for an evasion hat, but I recommend either scholar robe (barrier) with soshas or Xizas tmr or mirage vest (shield) with any tmr accessory that will raise your accuracy (Freds is good acc 12, crit 12, hp 434) Your going to need the accuracy boost now we're entering the evasion meta, thats why most recommend the aim type on the lionheart
Also +7 magic atk resist makes it very balanced comparable to monts tmr so you could then use for example Freds tmr with it to get added crit and accuracy
For smart coat i think +3 is still viable but i plan to make it +5 in next event where secret book of armor is much easier to get +5 smart coat barrier will devastate mages 😍
I currently am using a sages dodge hat on mine. With his TMR or Monts TMR. However if I had an armor TMR like say I used Phoebe's hat. I would probably focus on evasion/accuracy ring.
the circlet +5 gives 7 evasion where it matter, the stackable evasion, so its 18 evasion for the circlet and 13 evasion for the hat. If you have an evasion TMR, the +5 circlet gets even better than the sages hat +3
While whales have certain advantages in this game, armor and equipment isn't one of them. Equipment comes solely from grinding, and they give enough NRG for even F2P to max stuff out. If I wanted to spend $1,000 today for better armor, what do I buy? I can't buy recipes. I can't buy books. And there are plenty of seals and hammers to make equips from the 5 times a day Arena monthly and Arena token spends. The us versus them divide is pretty bad in this game, and I actually think you do your F2P community a disservice when you set the stage like you did on this video when for the topic in question, there is barely a difference to be had for F2P or big spenders.
Mmmmm possibly. However my husband is F2P and seeing the struggles he is getting trying to get armor books, or getting kicked out of multi parties is a reality. So I don't think painting the F2P picture as grim on this event is completely wrong! The next event will be significantly more F2P friendly though.

Your husband isn't struggling with that because he's F2P, he's struggling because he is a pretty new account and hasn't properly built up a unit yet to be able to really be successful at that level of content - it's not a money issue.
@@sidra_games4551 Husband here! You're definitely right on my units not being ready! I would say the only main difference I see with F2P is there isn't as much flexibility building units. For example I don't have Cid or Ramza, and a lot of multis I see say only those units. Gaff needs to be in an ideal position to do good in the multi, a lot of people don't even want mont. Yes I can do the multi, but the contribution I provide is pretty minimal and slow down the run. Regardless of all that, the F2P community can definitely enjoy the game without worrying about too many disadvantages against people who do pay. If you do your research beforehand. Since the game has horizontal progression, the main disadvantage is just with players who have played longer and the time it would take to catch up is very significant.
@@Andy-fi2vv Yeah man spot on. F2P definitely need to make more efficient decisions and have less room for error. They also are going to have smaller viable rosters. I just think F2P is getting tossed around too easily as an excuse for anything that someone not spending can't do in game, when in fact there was plenty that player could have done without spending a penny which would enable them to do the thing they can't.

I am having trouble with the actual part of crafting. It says I inseficient materials. But it does t tell me what? Am I doing something wrong?

Wizards Hat+5 still takes 345 books. Would be better invested into Sage's Hat+3

As much as I like to do this. I can't convince myself to waste resources on a non +5 gear. And I can't continue until we get type selection.

mage hat +2 or +3 with dodge is also good for now until sage's recipe farming lands. +12 dodge with 2-4 evade is still very respectable.

Got a +4 Smart Coat barrier, I think I'm gonna stop here and build a Mythril Dodge. Full Awakened +4 can still be used for a +5 right?
It definitely can, just gotta be sure it's not favorited, in favorited equipped, etc.
You can, but you'll be burning a few books doing so. The +5 Smart Coat is "much" better than the +4 however.

Get loads of them from farming Golum/Cactuar and Iron Giant materials from chocobo expeditions I've got about 500 right now
