Thanks a lot for the smooth and comprehensive explanation. I don't think it'll take a band 9 albeit. If you look at the sentence structures used in body paragraph 1, you'll find that they are mainly simple sentences or simple passive. We should use a variety of sentence structures that include the use of compound and complex sentences in addition to the simple sentence structures used in most of the essay. I don't know whether you agree or not. Regardless of that, I liked your teaching style. Thanks again!
Tnx for your comment. Getting a band 9 needs a combintion of four criteria and you definitely know what those criteria are. For example, considering grammatical range and accuracy, you should use complex and compound sentences along with different sentence structures without any grammatical mistakes. However, this does not mean you should go over the board and use many complex sentences. Ypu should be able to use different sentence structures. Overusing any structure or complex words will not work since examiners look for natural use of these structures and words. If you check the sample answers at the end of Cambridge series, you will come across many samples that are marked 9 but the sentences are simple.
