Thank you for another fabulous video. I actually AM a part of the ww program which really HAS been helping me. But my goal is for this to equip me with lifelong tools for healthy sustainable long term weight loss and health, since I dont plan to stay on the program forever. You are very inspirational. 💕

Wowww sounds like you had a great week!! When I was in ED recovery, one of the focuses was being able to eat and go out with friends and family. I’m glad you had a good time with your friend! When it comes to exercise, I used to use it as a punishment but when I started only exercising because I wanted to, I started loving it! There’s something great about having a good workout and feeling tired but strong. When you find what exercise you enjoy, it becomes more like a hobby not a chore! Hope you enjoy daily walks~ I walk for morning work meeting on my phone 😂😂

Exercise terrified me for years, I feel like PE in school does no one any favours with that 😂 I also get panic attacks when I get out of breath which wrecked my cardio! However, I started doing Blogilates beginners calendar back in April and I found myself enjoying exercise for the first time ever? Like the burn from my muscles and the sense of achievement was so good, and I was able to build up my strength and stamina. And the calendar format helps me so much with decision fatigue. I'm trying to lose weight, but I don't even mind that I haven't lost much, because I feel so much fitter, and walking with other people for example as you say doesn't scare me anymore! It's those none scale victories that make me feel like I'm reaching my goal of not dying at 50 😅 She does have some incorrect nutrition advice and occasionally questionable messaging, but if you're wanting to get into exercise I can recommend her workouts because they're low impact, whole body and don't throw you straight into too crazy cardio. I love how you're going about things, well done on pursuing such a healthy mindset amongst all the diet culture bullshit! 💕

I find when I tell people I'm losing weight they assume I'm on a diet. I've been asked "so how long for???" like uh... Forever? This is how I eat now? Like the concept of giving up certain foods cause they make me sick is ridiculous to them. I don't need that stuff, I'm happy with what I eat!

    • @ChloeShrinks

That's super interesting! It's funny how we've been conditioned to think of a healthy lifestyle change to be some kind of plan that we turn to when we've become overweight that has a beginning and an end. I'm happy you're happy 😊

Interesting about your thoughts on ww and SW. I do sw, and for me it is a life plan/will be my constant way of eating rather than a diet (I.e something I'm doing for now). I have lost 6 stone and been doing it for 17 months. In my recent video I talk about finding a plan or diet that works for you and this definitely works for me. The financial gain of others I guess is bad, however I get therapy every week for 4.95. which in my opinion is more than worth it. Also I think it is good that the company provide job opportunities for people but I equally do think they don't 'vet' these people as much as they should as I've definitely met some not so great consultabts in my time.
I've strayed away from the plan about 6 times in 17 months but I don't even believe that it is me being 'off plan' everything I eat is part of the plan because no food is out of bounds. I think it comes down to mindset. If you see things like ww and SW as 'diets' and something that essentially one day you are going to stop doing or following, that's where it isn't going to work.
Well done on your fantastic weightloss this week! :) I'm so pleased I found your channel, I enjoy how engaging you are and passionate, really good stuff!

Hey Kt! Always so happy to see your lovely comments, thank you 🥰 a 6 stone loss is amazing! Congratulations!! I totally understand that many people have had great success on WW or SW. I agree, spending money on a therapist is definitely worth it, however I think the comparative spend in terms of weight loss would be a nutritionist rather than a SW or WW plan, but I understand that isn't a very feasible expense for most of us! The trouble I have with SW and WW is that they've turned weight loss into a subscription service and that doesn't sit right for me, as well as some of their terminology and past campaigns (speaking mainly about SW 'syns' and WWs children's weight loss app).
I like your thinking that if you don't think of SW or WW as a 'diet' then it'll work for you. There's definitely a lot of complex psychology when it comes to language and food and I think a lot of us see the word 'diet' and think restriction, rules and punishment. But like you said nothing is off limits with SW! That's definitely a positive aspect of their plan. Just to reiterate, I don't have a problem with people following plans that work for them, whatever they may be - it's always amazing to see people becoming healthy!

@@ChloeShrinks I appreciate you taking the time to respond! Yes I do agree some of their terminology is off, I also hate the fact that 'healthy fats' carry a syn value, but I do encorporate these into my meals and syn still. This I believe is called 'savvy syning' ahah. I did not know ww had a children's plan. Bloomin eck!
Yeah I think eventually I will go down the nutritionist/personal trainer route but I believe the sw principals will always be with me. I suffer with BED and when I've tried restriction - say calorie counting etc it always makes it worse for me personally.
I'm a massive advocate just like yourself of find something that works for you. I think a lot of it definitely comes down to mindset and your approach to the weight loss. I think from what I've seen in your videos your approach and mindset appears to be super healthy and positive which is brilliant.

Fats being "BAD" for your heart is so not a real thing. Except for the linoleic vegetable and seed oils. I've done keto and improved all my health markers including lowering blood pressure.
I have always had such an issue with the foods being measured in "SINS" points. Absolute disgrace. Does nothing to address individual "relationships" with food and leaves room for self sabotaging.
The only true "anti diet" is starvation. Eating is dieting. I think you mean "anti diet plans". I can go for that.
Always a pleasure to watch your videos.

Hi George! Thanks for watching and commenting, I really appreciate how respectful you are. I'll definitely do some more research into fats and cardiovascular health!
The word 'diet' actually has two meanings, one as a verb and one as a noun. I believe you're referring to the noun in which case I totally agree; however the verb 'diet' means restricting or eating special kinds of food to lose weight, however this has obviously become skewed over time with diet plans, programmes and products. Those unsustainable 'diets' are what I'm not cool with. But again, totally understand where you're coming from!
Thanks again for commenting, you always give me something to think about and I love that!

    • @georgearnold841

@@ChloeShrinks your verb definition is also used in the noun as well. Verb or noun it doesn't really change what Diet actually is. Anything else is a social construct. Food is life but life is not food, well except for those of us that are chefs. We eat therefore we diet, whether or not it's planned and restricted. Sorry. It doesn't really matter. I can just be a bit aspergers about things.
I am glad you think I am respectful. That's not everyones take on how I communicate. Or, are you just being rather British about it? LOL
