- What does it take to develop the 2021 Yamaha R1 into a race-winning WorldSBK machine? It takes teamwork, with everyone from Yamaha's engineers to the team personnel and the riders - Toprak Razgatlıoğlu, Andrea Locatelli, Garrett Gerloff and Kohta Nozane - all working together to refine the Yamaha R1 into the most competitive package possible. The process starts with the engineers responding to rider feedback from the previous season to develop the bike over the winter. During preseason testing, the teams then take over, working with the engineers to assess the impact of updated components and working with the riders to improve the lap times. It makes for an intensive preseason schedule for the engineers, the teams, the mechanics and the riders, with the only real measure of success coming at the first race of the season.

Of course the technicals are very hard working cool guys but i think everybody agrees that If Yamaha wins the championship this year that's going to happen because of Toprak's skill. Yamaha doesn't look to be the best bike on the grid.
It's doing pretty well in BSB
For me the best bike in motogp or wsbk is the bike constructor winner. And for this season Yamaha is the bike constructor winner in WSBK.
But in MotoGP, we know if the champions is Yamaha rider. But the bike constructor winner is Ducati.
Kawasaki is dominating WSBK in last few years. But for this season, kawasaki are below Yamaha and Ducati in term of bike constructor rangking. It's show how good rea is/was because no other kawasaki rider can go further like what rea did.

Guys, respect for all the job you are doing. But on the straight in Mugello you must have seen what others did when Toprak was fighting with Kawa and Ducati. You must do better.

The Yamaha will always pay a penalty when it comes to top speed if they continue to use the cross plain engine
The balancer shaft they need for this engine is the problem. Having said that, that engine also allows great control at the limit of cornering power, it's a serious trade off. The Yamaha is not a slow bike as some people say, yes it doesn't have the same top speed of some of the other bikes, but makes up for it in other ways. It's a quick bike, just different, I love it, and I love Yamaha's persistence with it. Always loved Yamaha machines.
Put the 31 Garrett Gerlof in Vali's seat next year at Patronus and watch him kill it after the first learning year. He is that good on a fast bike. After year 1 on a Superbike he was leaving our current champ and beating him 2 to 3 secs per lap faster. Once he gets comfortable he flys. So exciting to watch ride a bike!

It is very nice. However, we couldn’t hear anything your the strongest rider who is racing with number 54? It is kind a disappointing for me because i am really wondering his ideas. 🤷
Unfortunately, Toprak tested positive for Covid-19 during this test and had to self isolate, so we weren't able to include him.

Unfortunately, when this video was shot, Toprak was self-isolating after testing positive for Covid 19.
Toprak riding style is really good and the r1 front tire holds up very well braking late and turning the bike sideways into the corner is something and sometimes i feel that the r1 has better front end M1 is a closest thing to the R1 good job Yamaha

This is why the have headphones with mics on the. It records their every word for a breakdown later. Seen most in the Moto GP pits. If this is in fact what your talking about.

Why yamaha cannot make a motorcycle like Kawasaki H2R . Ask Kenan sofuoglu the master and he will tell you all about it and how to make the best of the best motorcycle . Yamaha has to make way better motorcycle
The supercharger is not allowed in world superbike racing.
My two takeaways: 1. These guys and gals at Yamaha Racing make me proud to ride one, amazing work! And 2. besides being proven beyond any doubt whatsoever to be absolutely worthless at stopping a respiratory virus, face masks make everyone looks like ABSOLUTE IDIOTS.
