How are you as a parent teaching your children how to clean. You have to teach them not just do the cleaning for them. They need to be involved with the cleaning. I’m not judging you just trying to convey that cleaning is also a taught skill.
There’s a mix of you do it, here’s how I do, and let’s do it together. As younger kids they used to clean the rooms with me and I would direct them but I no longer have them on video that long. I record real time also so I stopped cleaning with them. We have the top 3 things for me are 1. Remove dishes 2. Empty trash 3. Bring down the laundry. And then they have to “clean up” stuff and put away and wipe down after that. I tell them weekly to pick up and do the top 3. They manage that on their own for a few weeks until I go in and actually help. My method for helping these days is helping to coordinate and get them started. My youngest for instance when it’s her turn for dishes i have to do the same because she don’t want to do them. It’s a more new skill so I stand with her and tell her where to put things, grab a couple items and place them so it’s “together” but she is doing the most. As I said you have to remember these rooms look very good for me not cleaning them in 2 months. They have been doing a good job keeping up with it, but it needs a reset of “fully done” as well so they have a standard baseline of my clean.

I would do the same thing. My girls would clean, but there's nothing like mom's clean. Everytime I would go in they would spend more time in their room. Today they are grown women. They clean, cook and work. I feel I did my job as a mama. As for the cooking i didn't know they were paying attention. I was like 😮. When they started cooking for me.😊.

I do laundry all in one day. Always on Sunday that’s the only thing I do, if I get other things done then great but my main focus id laundry. Washed, dried, and put away. I’ve been doing this for a few years now and it’s been great! I still clean my youngest sons room and I don’t care what people think, none of their business. My house, I do what I want. Hopefully you can communicate with those around you to get more in sync and compromise. I definitely know what that is like. I don’t know the depth of your situation but for most things like this I try to reframe my mind and remind myself that I don’t know everything and everyone ain’t me. I had to learn my family has their own preferences and opinions outside of my own. That’s ok we can still be a unit and have our autonomy. We just have to work together to get ahead and when the kids are grown they can do things their way but some stuff is just done certain ways in my home. 🩷💜

Hey friend, just a recommendation, with laundry have you thought about maybe doing laundry by person. Meaning each child does laundry a few times a week and has there own days and the same for you and hubby clothes together. That way the laundry doesn't have to be sorted and each load all goes to one person. The kids each wash and dry there own clothes and then put it up. This really helped my son when he was around 7 to start this. Now as a 14 year old he understands clean clothes only comes from his effort and not momma now. Bonus momma no longers does his clothes. I have but I haven’t been strict to implement. I love the idea though. We did better in summer but with their schedules now I like when they have down time.

The problem for us is that I don't have the funds to have laundry detergent wasted because my 14 and 12 yo girls will mix their recently cleaned clothes with dirty ones. I've talked with them, showed them how to wash their clothes, but my oldest especially is just careless. Or she'll wash like 6 articles of clothing that she wants to wear instead of a full load. And my husband STUFFS the washing machine. Sometimes I just leave them to figure it out, but usually it's just me so that we save money and have truly clean clothes lol
@peachy_reina yea been there. When I did try the routine of them doing their own it got in the way of me doing stuff that needed done because they were not done or I didn’t do like also. lol so it’s better if I just do it. I have them carry their stuff down, collect clothes from the upstairs bathroom and their rooms and put in laundry area. I also have them separate out their clothes sometimes and put away but as you said it doesn’t always go up properly. I also have this guilt knowing I may need their help in the future to get by because of my vision loss, hopefully far away from losing all my independence but one day I will need their help dominoes they remember I took care of them so I’m not a burden. My husband is short I time to donor he ever washes it’s just his own stuff so his clothes are the one J make sure are done on the weekend so he is ready for work.
Fellow michanger here too .Just went in every other day for ten minutes and did it together where as my daughter who was older and didn’t not have ADHD did t need help at all and yeah my house was and still is all in me to clean and with lupus and arthritis is so hard but keep fighting the good fight cuz our families ar worth it❤
That’s so important ok because you should be able to lean on the fan more with your health issues. I agree a quick clean is good but when we put everything away here is keeps us from doing stuff and staying on our phones. Jordin will pull out many crafts and have days where she just makes things all day and plays and I try not to disrupt that. The downside though is the next day is nuts because we don’t put away throughout play. Intense days of creativity usually lead to the worse mess lol

They are just the standard waterproof mattress covers from Walmart.
Just cutdown on the clothing, there’s only so much clothes you can wear🤷♀️
