- I am so excited to share this extreme closet clean out with you today. I hope it motivates you to declutter and organize a space in your home. This took me about 5 hours to do which was longer than I had anticipated but I got it done and I feel so good about it. I ended up with a pretty good amount of stuff to throw away and donate. I just decluttered my closet, I think that I got rid of five bags full of clothes, handbags, coats, jackets, sweaters, sweatshirts, tees and shoes. Wow I can now actually walk into my closet. The funny part about it is that I’m not done yet.. now that I can actually walk into my closet, I’m going to do another sweep just to make sure that I have gotten rid of everything that I just don’t wear . I must say that I feel so much better about removing these items from my life and my home, you will too. Once I put something in the bag it’s gone goodbye . I know how you feel when you said how good it now feels to walk into your closet. Well done
I love this so much! I can relate to everything you said here. It’s a huge job but so worth it in the end. I just went through the space again and took out a couple more small bags worth of clothes. It’s a work in progress. Great job! ❤️

I did a huge closet declutter. I decluttered so many of my clothes. I had plastic hangers and I decided to buy slim hangers. That was a game changer in my small closet. At the end of each season I look to see what I can donate.
Maybe you can get a shoe storage rack for your shoes and other footwear. You did a great job!
So much easier to watch others declutter than doing it myself! It helps to watch, I just wish decluttering could happen at warp speed in real life!

I listen to one de-cluttering video after another, all day, to keep me motivated when I am organising. Today its the turn of my wardrobe. In UK we don't usually have big closets, usually free-standing wardrobes. Mine is built in, but tiny and short, as its in the eves if the house. It gets so congested! I have decided to decongest it today and store my winter stuff under the bed in tote boxes. In UK the weather can give you 4 seasons in one day! For this reason I will keep the boxes accessible 😂
We also had very little as kids in our family, all 3 sisters and a niece have to curb the hoarding tendancy! At least we know we have it. 😊

You have done a beautiful job! May I suggest color organizing each group based on the rainbow. White, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, ingego, violet, brown, grey, black. It makes putting together an outfit super easy.😊 And I found that shower curtain rings work really well for indicating a separation between groups of things. And you can write on them if you need to like for kids sizes etc.

New to your Chanel . I find looking at photos of me in outfits on my phone helps me get rid of things . I was 3rd girl definite hand me downs I understand the buying more than we need keeping it for longer because of growing up with not much money . I have found giving to a women’s shelter or freecycle to people that need things has helped me. I also put tags on the hanger of things I’m not sure on use or loose . Once you’ve done the first pass it does get so much easier.

I gutted mine last year and got rid over half my shirts. It was nice to have space and room to hang coats and storage boxes again.

New subscriber here, I'm so glad I've found this video on the suggestions. I struggle so much to discard some stuff like any old clothes that can't be donated or nicer paper clutter like magazines/catalogues or even just some clothes stores flyers. I usualy put stuff I declutter in bags like you've did, but I leave them in the garage forever instead of either decluttering things righ away in the regular trash or at least just dump the bag for real haha. But I very rarely seen someone filming while discarding clothes so it gives me motivation. Mosst people only film the clothes they donate, but do the rest off cameras, but it's easy for me to declutter the clothes I can donate so I'm happy I could find some motivation in your video. I hope I'll find more like this and maybe one with the nicer paper. Even if it's not a declutter, but just few random things you find around while cleaning, I always look for motivation for this 😇

I feel a lot of people judge people who throw certain decluttered items in the garbage instead of donating, but in my opinion I feel like there is always stuff that can just go right into the trash; so I do try and include that in my videos.
I am a lot like you with the holding onto paper items and having a hard time getting rid of that stuff. I am about to start a decluttering series where I will be getting rid of over 1000 pieces, lots of paper type items and other random stuff I have been holding on to. As much stuff as you drug out of that small closet, that's amazing. It look like it was never ending the stuff you was bringing out. I HATE you throwing all the clothes in the land fill.

I am donating the majority of the stuff I didn’t want to keep. I actually goggled where to take the clothes I want to garbage, and I learned H&M will take them to recycle so that’s what I am going to do with those. ❤
I used containers sideways top f closet to put folded items in
I have sweaters in them easy to pick a sweater and see Looks tidy
Velvet hangers take way less space fyi
Temu and some dollar stores have shoe storage as in 1 pair fits in less space taken

You may want to look into a better closet system. Know someone with same system and it gave way one night. Weight of the clothes just tore it out of wall. Clothes are a lot heavier than you think.
Hey Janet, thanks for the feedback! We don’t own this house otherwise I would definitely be customizing the closet with drawers and shelving. I did notice whoever installed the longest shelf doubled up on the brackets at both ends which is great. ❤
My Alberta closet is about the same size as yours. I have a double dresser and high boy dresser in the bedroom that are used for t-shirts, leggings, sweaters, etc which allows lots of room to organize a small closet. I also have a small Sterilite 3 drawer organizer in the closet for miscellaneous random outfits. I even have room for a Swiffer and Small vacuum cleaner so that I don't have to go downstairs for these cleaning products. Key to organized small closet is constant decluttering and removal of unused items. I enjoyed your video. Thanks for the suggestion to also clean the doors, something that I promise to do today. You might consider adding battery operated lighting on the wall to enhance the lighting in the room.
I guess because I'm not in the business workforce it would take me 30 mins to go through my stuff, probably less.

So you're hoarding shit you dont need (all the bins and boxes) in a place you'll forget about them existing (the basement) because you enjoy the clutter and mess? :/ This was horrible....
Haha, no not quite. The bin has seasonal and sentimental items in it and the 2 boxes which held some of my daughters keepsakes, clothes that are too small which we keep for our next child are now moved into the appropriate bins in our storage room. Our basement is actually a space in our home where we spend time and our storage room is super organized and clutter free, everything is sorted and labeled. 😃 Thank you so much for watching!
