From 1762 thru to 1789, John Wesley, a Church of England minister and founder of the Methodist movement preached at Gwennap Pit 18 times to thousands upon thousands of Cornish miners and their families.
Gwennap Pit is a fascinating place to visit, particularly if you’re interested in Cornish mining history, Cornish heritage and the history of Methodism. Highly recommend. Our word of advice set your satnav for Gwennap Pit, not just Gwennap.
