I just put a deposit down on a 1999 Capri, and picking it up next weekend when the owner is back in town. My first boat, but my wife grew up on the water. We are going to make some good memories with our kids, even they are 17, 20 and 22 now.
@@nelsonway We had it out on the lake 3 times this year. It was SO fun. I am sorry I resisted getting one for so long. It is put up for the winter, but looking forward for having it out in the spring,,,
Ha cool. I love watching old things like this. I like those old national geographic magazines with the car advertisements from the 70's. Thanks for sharing
I had the 2052 cabined one. Best value for money ever. No boat with same hp (4.3l 200hp) and mass would be faster. I managed to do 43kt over navi in ideal conditions. Crazy.
Just bought our first boat as a beater to see if we like it or not. It’s an old 84 Bayliner Capri open bow with I/O. Can’t wait to test it and see how it goes.
I owned a Bayliner out board, I really liked in how it moved through the water. although choppy water not so good. we had a 89 model...... We often took it to the Colorado river, I never put it in the ocean.
This was when Bayliner was still based in my home state of Washington. My family had a 1996 1850 Capri SS (which is red whereas the LS you see here is blue).
I never thought of launch the boat this way till watching the video, we would normally just have someone (me) inside. But if dock is available may do this more.
I have just aquired a 2000 Bayliner Capri 18ft, 4.3l Mercruiser. Please don't think me bragging, I'm begging for help. I really need an owners manual if somebody knows of a downloadable file? Is there a VIN number on a boat, like a car. That Identifies it specifically and where is it located? Thanks.
Skip the boat, I'll take Mrs Chandler! Truth is, by now, any Bayliner still in existence from this time period is probably completely waterlogged with major structural hull fractures. They say "they don't build 'em like they used to!" I say, Thank God for that. These were and still are the absolutely worst boats in the industry. If it wasn't for Mrs Chandler, I would have dismissed this video out of hand, but since she's there, I'll get back to viewing!
I had a 1995 Capri 2052. Just sold it. Not one problem whatsoever except some wirings and wearing. You don't know what you're talking about. This boat smokes any other brand within same range and hp.

That's awesome, I have mine and want more. Its why I wont sell it until they are out of the house.

Yes, I agree its a beautiful boat in calm water, I have had mine in the river a few times. San Diego bay is nice on calm days.
Love my 1996 Capri Cuddy. They don't make them like they used to.
If she comes with the boat I'm sold!!
She’s like 65 now

Hot tip
When backing up any trailer. Use handheld radios. Avoids the hand gestures and yelling at each other.
That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard
I have this exact boat

Truck is a 96 or older. Boat is likely a 94 or newer but could be as old as 90 based on the Mercruiser and not an OMC.
