- Adventure through the redwood trees on Memorial Day at this grove of ancient redwood in Memorial Park. The mystery of the redwood awaits us. Redwood trees are the tallest living organism on the earth and survive for thousands of years.
Find peace at Memorial Park located in the San Francisco area between Redwood City and the Pacific Ocean. The redwood trees are coastal redwood and many are "old growth" meaning very old. The park has 673 acres and is known for its hiking and family campgrounds as well as the outstanding old growth redwood trees. We also visit Alices Restaurant on Skyline boulevard as we leave the park heading toward the Redwood City. Another nearby town is Woodside. The redwood forests here were known as a productive logging area in the 1800s.

These redwood giants blow me away! They are so tall, but absolutely beautiful! I can’t believe how old they are. When you walk up close to it, that’s when you can really tell how massive these trees are in width too, wow. You captured absolutely beautiful footage of these trees. Amazing how fire would be inside and the outer parts keep it safe. I loved learning about these trees from you, the shelter for farm animals. And such a lovely forest to walk through. Your aerial footage of the forest is incredible too. Amazing how they measure the air quality. I like the example you provided with campfire. Alice’s restaurant looks like a great place to stop. I have always wanted to come see the giant redwoods in person. They look so amazing. I look forward to walking through the woods and seeing those beautiful trees towering above me. I have always viewed the Redwoods as being special in the world. Their height, age, beauty, and where they are found all add to it. It has been a while since I have been up to see them. How beautiful. You have to feel so small when you're in the forest. I've only been once, but it was so long ago. I would love to visit again. First time I've seen a recorder being played from inside a tree. lol I love hiking through nature like this. It's so different than in Florida.
