Experience the evolution of model train history from the beginning of the industry to the latest toy train sensation of Thomas and Friends (Thomas the Tank Engine). From German built trains in the late 1800s; to mid 1900s US built Lionel trains during the golden age of railroading; to current Thomas and Friends TV train sensation and online railroads
We tour Sacramento Train Museum also known as the California State Railroad Museum which is a Smithsonian affiliated world class museum. We also share some of our personal collection from 3 generations of model railroading in the 1930s, the 1960s and the 1990s. Some museum model train exhibits are sponsored by the National Model Railroad Association. This is our part 2 video exploring the history of model trains, miniature trains and toy trains over the last 100 plus years. The part 1 video shows the other aspects of the Sacramento train museum.

This is a serious hobby. Some people get really into it. I have a couple model trains but never got crazy with it. This looks like the place to be for model train enthusiasts.
