    I was born and raised in Florida and I can’t wait to leave FL when i was raised here It still had that small town atmosphere that is long gone most of the land was growing orange trees on it that’s gone we replace the orange trees with houses that was a mistake now the Florida that I loved is gone forever

      Everyone should leave their hometown! I was born and raised in NY and I've lived in many different areas and I've been really happy. Moving to sarasota shortly. I suppose it also depends on where you live or were raised. Oh and btw you could live in many other areas of Florida that im sure still have a small-town feel. you're probably just near a big city that needs to expand due to growth

    When I moved to Florida in 2000 it was a paradise. Homes were affordable, traffic was light, cost of living was low and the weather included some really nice winters. Also the political climate was quiet. All these things are gone.

    I was a Realtor in Connecticut. I now live in Tampa and the Rental prices tripled since I have been here since 1994. I am on straight Social Security now and the rise in the cost of rents are driving the retirees out of their rents. There are a lot of elderly living on the streets and that is what is really happening. So talk about some of that. I worked for Century 21 in Farmington CT. I hear the rentals are twice as much there. The new 1 Bed 1 bath rents in Tampa and Riverview since they are building new there and are starting at $2,500 per month. That is over my SSI income base and that is crazy.

      Florida rent is going skyrocket high ridiculous and if you rent a three bedroom for $2000 don’t think it’s going to be the same the next year because the landlord could go up $500 to 600$ and the rent the next year

    • @viralsheddingzombie5324
      @viralsheddingzombie5324 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @Justyouandmelord
      @Justyouandmelord ปีที่แล้ว

      @@viralsheddingzombie5324 yes it protect the tenant but when you start a new lease what these landlord is doing is making you do a new deposit of the new rent that you have to pay and there’s nothing to stop them from doing that because they can so every year the landlord will go up and your rent and then have you sign a new lease with a new deposit even though you had a old deposit from a years ago.

    Native floridian Tampanian here. Don't come....1) please don't move here!!! 2) we are over populated 3) No exaggeration, all the trees are being cut down to build houses causing air pollution and water pollution I'll explain below 4) we used to grow oranges and now all we grow is cement, concrete, car washes to wash all these emission producing cars, 5) Sink holes up the ying yang, 6) in 2023 taxes are sky high!!!!! Mucho dinero. My home taxes went from 1,900 to just under 6k raising my mortgage by $700 a month on a fix 2.5% interest rate 7) sky high home insurance 8) sky high car insurance 9) bumper to bumper traffic jams in Hillsborough County, Miami, orlando, and all other metro counties from 6am to 8pm. No longer is traffic heavy from 7am to 9am and 4pm to 6pm. Insead traffic is jammed ALL DAY LONG. 10) hurricane Irma, Ian tore us a new @** hole literally, 11) because so many people are moving here the prices of groceries and gas ( cost of living) is sky high because demand is high. We cant blame inflation for this one. High demand equals high costs.
    When we cut down all the trees to build concrete the sky becomes pollured because there are not enough trees to filter the air and produce oxygen. Also when those trees are cut down the soils becomere demineralized and cause water wash off into the waterways that then cause red tied, blue green algae, flesh eating bacteria etc. This is what's happening to Florida.
    P.s its not relaxing here. So stay where you are. We are over crowded.

    What about Port Saint Lucie? Research/data indicate cooler Summer temps from the Atlantic Ocean, plenty of job opportunities, inexpensive realistaste, significantly improved/updated infrastructure, parks, ocean access, newly built homes to withstand hurricanes and significantly lower crime than most other Florida cities. How did you miss this?

    Tampabay is becomming California. Never seen homeless like this before and the county commissioners are proposing three sites for homeless. Lived here all my life and looking to move to another state. Good Luck.

      That's not unique to Tampa Bay, or Florida in general. People are getting poorer and cost of living is getting higher EVERYWHERE.

    Florida is for retired married couples who love to stay inside with the A/C running.

    I'm here since 2004 as a snowbird and sold my PGI condo in 2015 & bought a nice 3 bed home in my FL flyover county. Low crime & low taxes. 4 miles from a boat ramp & its good here.
