Did 1995 honda odyssey head still at shop for machining. Timing belt failure bent valves. Mileage at 300,000. Have a1999 toyota rav4 same engine as the video did combustin test tested good stayed blue, coolant leak under intake unable to locate leak maybe an external blown head gasket. If so will be doing same job as you.your video will be priceless. Much appreciated
I wish I was healthy enough to do this job myself on my 99 5SFE. The thought of a mechanic doing it makes me want to buy a fresher Camry when she finally lets go.
Thanks, your video answered several of my questions that I had about bolts and head removal.
Great video, but if you edit your title to include 5S-FE, you'll help a LOT more DIY Camry owners with this engine.
Is this the same for a 2.0 engine toyota camry LE its a 4 cylinder?
Should be similar.
Hour much would this cost me if i where to take this to the shop?
I’m no mechanic, but I would think 3 hours. Average independent in my area would be at least 85 an hour.
Im working on a 97 camry 2.2 liter LE, anyway anybody could send me a link or let me know the crankshaft location ?
Are you talking physical location or timing marks? Physical location is behind a plastic cover behind the driver front wheel. The timing marks are a groove in the crank pulley itself near the engine itself.
I have a service manual diagram I could send you. You can email me at tom2rn@aol.com.
thank you well described
