    For folks who are complaining about the price , I’ve been researching teardrops for a good while now and they beat their competitors easily. One in Springville, UT, STARTS at $18,000 and that’s bare bones without options (they are also heavier). Another in Wanship is comparable, but not fiberglass rather wood and aluminum - pricing is competitive.

    To those who are complaining about the price of these. You are Not the target market!!! These are being marketed to adventure seekers who are mostly younger professionals who don't mind paying more if they think it's worth it. Hell, they'll pay 2 or 3K for a bike so less than 20K for this sounds good. I wouldn't pay it either but there again I'm an old man who wouldn't be able to get in and out of bed in this camper. I don't even like camping!!! But this isn't designed for me so the manufacture doesn't care what I like!

    • @SignalChange
      @SignalChange 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That doesn't justify the insanity.
      I like these, I really do.. a nice quick bug out unit. But FFS they're overpriced.
      What your comment tells me is ' young broke professionals who are in debt to their eyeballs and can only afford to buy clothes from the salvation army wouldn't mind sinking nearly 20k on a couple hundred dollars worth of aluminum.
      You can even hear it in the guys voice how it sinks to a whisper as if he is embarrassed at the price levels.
      Look you can sell a couple a year for 20k, or you can mass produce these at 5k, make huge profits and the brand explodes.

    • @pete1853
      @pete1853 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@SignalChange - "or you can mass produce these at 5k, make huge profits". No, you can't. At least, no one does, or comes anywhere close to that. And you talk about "insanity"? I wish you were right, but you aren't. Look at the competition, and you will not find anyone who isn't at least 2x what you claim for a price that "you can mass produce these" at.

    • @moarsaur
      @moarsaur 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SignalChange You don't know what materials or workmanship cost, and there's no market to "mass" produce these. It's a bespoke product for a niche market.

    • @repetitivemotion
      @repetitivemotion 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Onetrack what company do you own? What product do you manufacture. Are you a manufacturer? Are you a builder? Anything? I doubt it. If you were you wouldn’t make the stupid comments that you made. It is very expensive to build a product such as the Bean trailer. The cost of labor and materials, not to mention real estate, tools and machinery, water, sewer, gas, electric, phone, phone systems, internet, computers, real estate taxes, etc. dictate the price. Actually, for what you get the price is rather low.

      I've been looking and pricing these for a couple years, I'd say this is pretty expensive. Consider the T@G or one from TC Teardrops to compare features with pricing. Also...just because I'm 53 and could buy one of these for cash, doesn't mean I don't look for value. It's camping, not an Air BnB or a motorhome. But hey...I'm 53, and obviously the extensive marketing research they needed to do to finance this product development, etc. makes them the experts. I'll check back in a year or two and see if anything has changed, but I'll probably buy a TC Teardrop or $10K or less one before that.

    It's a curious thing. Folks are going to comment that it is too expensive. My tent cost 399. It has 8lbs of fabric and 2 aluminum sticks. It's a quality tent but nothing more. And it sucks to sleep on the ground. $400 is too much to spend if you don't enjoy it. I cant make a tent. I can't make a bean trailer either. A quality product is worth what you can get from it. Apparently Bean is doing well. My complaint, is it needs an AC option. If you want cheap, get a sleeping bag and air mattress. May your spine be aligned by the pine and pay your chiropractor well.

      We’d love you to compare our quality build verses the competition. We are building an Heirloom quality product that will be in your family for generations, verses something that is built to be disposable. Our trailers have a lifetime warranty on the roofline. Hard to beat the price and value of that.
      Other valuable insight for comparing prices. Our base pricing includes several upgrades that the competition upcharge for.

      Teardrops are not manufactured by the thousands on a big assembly line in Indiana, this is a very niche product with little appeal outside of folks like you and I. It is not possible to crank out limited numbers of these trailers while maintaining quality at a much cheaper price. Even Chinese knock-offs (I've looked) are not all that much cheaper.

    Looks like a great product. What will keep me from buying this over your competitors is the absence of interior design. The white walls and ceiling are too sterile and not inviting enough. The LED lighting should be indirect. It wouldn't take much to make them more luxurious. Get on it. The galley looks pretty good. Do the interiors to match. Do wood veneer and wood laminate flooring.

      Topanga Reyna. Thank you for your tireless service to the cause. Your use of capitalization and distinctive word choice is unparalleled. It is clear you are the preeminent expert on the topic of ‘stabbing fiberglass’. Without your passionate display how would the world come to know the underreported risk factors of ‘stabbing fiberglass’? Maybe someday people will come forward to report their ‘stabbing fiberglass’ incidents and this tragedy will finally get some recognition.

You do not need to feel embarrassed for this. Excess capitalization is a well recognized way to express strong feeling in the absent of data. I am curious about your other impassioned views on mini camper construction. Given your frequency of post and I don’t mean to presume but do you have a similar familiarity with ‘aluminum stabbing’. I would love to know your thoughts.

It was in the lane beside me, and all I could do was admire how neatly they seem to trundle along behind an SUV, then smile at the driver, point to the trailer and give her a thumbs-up. If we do buy a trailer, I'll be pushing hard for something that small and fuel-efficient.
      So, a question: how much do they REALLY affect fuel economy?
