    Thanks for this review! I just bought a set, and I was looking for some more detailed reviews of these things. I was trying to find something I can get right away that's going to be competitive with the VRS pedals, and I think this fits that bill. Hey mate, tough choices for sure :-) They both are excellent pedal sets with great customer support. HE have recently released their updated software with on the fly adjustments as well, which makes the choice even tougher. At this level the differences are quite minor and mostly aesthetic. If you appreciate engineering / design and material choices the SImtrecs are a cut above the HEs. The HEs on the other hand are some of the most robust pedals on the market with excellent performance. Buying any sim racing gear is such a personal decision and I can't really split them. Maybe you are going for a particular look for your rig or you are going for pure performance and are not fussed with aesthetics. Either way you can't go wrong choosing either of these pedal sets. Hope this helps. Cheers AussieStig

    Hi, the brake seems a bit slow to come back when you lift your foot off. Doesn't quite seem to come back with your foot. Did you notice this? Was it of any nuisance? I know of some other Pedal sets that have or had similar issues.
    How has the reliability of the pedals been? I have had bad luck with HE pedals.
    How do these compare to hydraulic sets of pedals?
    Cheers

    • @SimRacingwithAussieStig
      @SimRacingwithAussieStig  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey, the return is normal and has no effect on the brake's performance. Actually that action mimics a hydraulic pedal quite well. I have used the Pro GTs daily for the last 3 months without issue. No noises, no problems with the potentiometers etc. They compare quite favourably with the Tilton 600s although a true hydraulic feel is reserved for pedals with a dedicated hydraulic mechanism. The SIMTRECS are a quality product and I couldn't fault them during the review. Hope that helps, cheers, AussieStig

    Thank you beautifully for the reviews you have done.
    I would like to make changes to be even faster on the track. I currently own a replica HE Sprint.
    I have had the opportunity to compare them to the original Sprint, VRS, DC Simrace, but none have made my heart beat faster and make me want to replace them, although they are very good pedals/
    I have a huge dilemma as to what to choose, maybe you can advise me.
    SRP-GT, very beautiful pedals with very good on-the-fly adjustment assigned to a button.
    Asetek Invicta, not much adjustability but maybe better brake performance and chance for better times on the track, also great your review.
    Simtrecs Pro GT- which you've repositioned wonderfully here.
    Simagic- I'm a little wary of them, but they draw the eye.
    Which of these pedals would you choose, maybe you had a chance to try the SRP-GT?
    I changed the brake travel on my set up to 2cm and my times improved a lot, I'm wondering if changing pedals can still improve anything as I may be missing the point?
    All the best great reviews.

    • @SimRacingwithAussieStig
      @SimRacingwithAussieStig  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, thank you for the very kind words regarding my reviews, I am happy you enjoyed them. Most of the pedals you mentioned are a great choice. I have not had the opportunity to test SIMAGIC or the SRPs yet. If you are contemplating swapping your pedals out, it comes down to what type of rig you have, if it can stand a high degree of pressure from a very stiff brake pedal. If it can compensate for the lack of adjustment of the ASETEKs to give you a good driving position. Both the Simtrecs and Aseteks can have very hard brake pedals with a short amount of travel. Either of these pedals could help improve your lap times. It really is a subjective choice on your part, one set has great engineering and design coupled with maximum adjustability and the other has limited adjustability and an almost real life feeling brake system with the other two pedals being very mainstream in terms of feel. The throttle spring is too light and the heel rest can be uncomfortable at times. Really the choice is yours and I am sure sure you would be happy with either set. Hope that helps. Hey mate thanks for the kind words. Happy to know you enjoy my reviews :-) I will start off by saying I cant make that choice for you obviously. I would say there are some factors regarding what your needs might be. If you have a rig that accommodates the Invictas lack of adjustability and only want to drive with a hard brake pedal then these are an excellent choice. On the other hand the Simtrecs are very adjustable in all planes and you can have a very hard to road car feel on the same pedal. Really it is a personal choice where looks might play a role as well. Either way they are both excellent pedal sets with their own pros and cons. Hope that helps. Cheers AussieStig

      @@SimRacingwithAussieStig Thank you! I actually have a couple of questions if you don't mind - as I wait for these pedals I keep going back and forth between them and the sprints. To me, I like the simtrecs because they include dampers on all pedals in addition to all the other adjustments and such. The question really is, between the sprints and these, do the dampers really make a huge difference? I hate that I keep going back and forth but to be honest the difference in price can help me get a few other things or put more money towards a better wheelbase (right now looking at the VRS DFP or a Simucube 2 Sport). Also, one thing that really bothers me about the simtrecs is not being able to change the faceplate on the throttle but I'm I can design an adapter plate I can use to attach something else to it (I REALLY want an inverted setup and I like old-school type faceplates and such). With the sprints you can easily swap out faceplates and there's a specific adapter plate to mount new faceplates at an angle. I also really want to paint my simtrecs but I'm worried I'll seriously damage them.

      @@thinkrtank991 hey mate, no worries about the questions. I get the level of doubt when making such a decision. I think you are sort of answering your own questions a little by mentioning what you want to achieve with your set up. You are correct, the throttle pedal is fixed and there is no way to change that with the Simtrecs. Floor mounted pedals are by definition designed to be used with the natural movement of your feet and ankles. Inverted is more street car style and in that sense the HEs are more amenable to what you are after. They are solid pedals but they are not at the level of the Simtrecs. The hydraulic dampers do make everything smoother overall. The feel of the Simtrecs is much heavier than the Sprints which are a more entry level pedal set. really. I can't decide for you though mate. You might want to look at alternatives to the Sprints for inverted mounting, maybe the HE Ultimate original version which is €999 or VRS pedals. Hope this helps in some way. Cheers, AussieStig

    Nice local review AussieStig. Did you have to pay duties on these when they arrived in Oz? And would you mind confirming the length of the black profile that comes with the pedal plate for me? Thanks and well done on your review!

      Hey Matt, no worries mate thanks for the kind words. I am currently based in Europe so the duties and tax thing weren't applicable. If you would like an accurate price landed in Oz, please contact Gabor at Simtrecs and mention me,, he will look after you. Cheers mate let me know how you get on or if you need any more help. PS, you can find all the dimensions here as the pedal plate profile was specially cut to fit the Playseat SP rig which is narrower than a profile rig at the front.. www.simtrecs.com/data/propedal-gt-manual/manual/PPGT-MANUAL-20-PRO-PEDAL-MOUNTING-ON-BASEPLATE.pdf

      @@SimRacingwithAussieStig Hi mate, I have an unusual request ... would you be able to post (or DM me) a video of how these pedals sound under normal operation, without the simulator sounds coming though? I need to get a guage on how silent or noisy they are. I'd really appreciate it Aussie Stig. Cheers!

    Awesome review Aussie Stig, loved your vid. Have my set arriving in 2 weeks! Would love your opinion or a video on seat and pedal positions, eg how much lower than seat height should heels be, same height or a little lower for GT style racing?

    • @SimRacingwithAussieStig
      @SimRacingwithAussieStig  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Billy, thanks for the kind words mate and congrats on choosing the Simtrecs, they are a pretty awesome set of sim racing pedals. The quick answer is, I have my heels slightly higher than my backside, which, in the Playseat gives me an ideal GT position. This is what I personally am most comfy with when I sim race. This may or may not suit everyone, but for me it is a good balance. Hope that helps and best of luck with your new pedals, cheers,, AussieStig

    would you say you like these better than the meca 1?

    • @SimRacingwithAussieStig
      @SimRacingwithAussieStig  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey mate, thanks for your question. The MECA Cup1s are a solid pedal set for the price point they are in. In terms of engineering, features and refinement the Simtrecs surpass them albeit with a significantly higher price point. Really depends on your budget and what you would like from your pedals. I was thinking exactly the same. Being such a force on a pivot point, had me wondering how long it would be before it moved. But I guess you wouldn't go to this level of build and not thoroughly test it out.

      Hey mate, they calibrated the same way as any other OEM pedals do in iRacing. No special tricks just calibrate them in the controls window. The brake power dial fine tunes them after that. Cheers, AussieStig.
