  • Midtown Manhattan has fallen quite far in terms of cleanliness and safety, but now NYC's leaders have a plan to use 20 different agencies to clean this neighborhood... but critics are asking what those agencies were doing in the past to allow the area to turn into such a disaster.

I would go to museums, galleries, concerts, restaurants but I haven’t been there much since before Covid lockdown. Now, the few times I’ve been to the city for B’way or concerts, I leave as soon as I can.

      I also live in the NYC suburbs NY. 25 minutes drive. Born and raised. I lived in Manhattan in the early 90's and was in and out of the city since birth in the early 70's. All through the 70's, 80's, 90's, 2000's etc. NYC was always a dazzling, inspiring, highly intellectual and creative city but it has changed. NYC has always been a rough joint and that's ok but now NYC is not only boring, uncreative, and uninspiring but it has become extremely dangerous. It is the quality and character of the people that has seriously declined- including everyone. That is the issue here. Must deport all illegal aliens (they must apply for citizenship and be fully vetted) and citizens must VOTE RED. Criminals need to be jailed and the mentally deranged people need to be placed into healthy psychiatric institutions. The city itself and architecture is still extraordinarily beautiful.

      It's not that the shelter itself is unsafe. (Although the shelter probably has _rules,_ which these sort of people are allergic to.) Being around a concentrated volume of absolute degenerates is just inherently more dangerous.
      Even homeless people don't want to be around homeless people.

    • @kzhemh
      @kzhemh หลายเดือนก่อน +26

      Often they won't stay in shelters because shelters often have rules and curfews that they don't want to follow. It's been like that for decades long before the migrant crisis

    • @DarkbutNotsinister
      @DarkbutNotsinister หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      @@kzhemh Agreed. Especially if they are in active addiction. The migrant shelters are supposed to have the same rules. Migrants have been taught the rules don’t apply to them.
      Local shelters are crowded, underfunded & understaffed. The $ spent on migrant shelters would be better spent on local mental health.
      Unfortunately, no one makes $$ when they care for mental health. It’s much more lucrative to let the government take over & overpay 100% occupancy for a hotel.
      I had a local shelter close its doors in my neighborhood. I could see the difference in the neighborhood within 3 weeks.

    If I'm a mental health worker and I walk up to someone I can see needs help but they don't want help....I can't do anything. I, in most cases, can't force them to get help, or get off the street if there is not an apparatus in place, no laws that allow me to do so. And where to go if you are homeless and on the street? all the shelters are full of foreign nationals. So even if I'm homeless and want a place to stay...no place is available. Because we are serving the people of other countries before our own.

      When you guys leave y’all need to make sure you do thorough research on housing prices in your new state. A lot of y’all are the reason for why so many other places are having low income housing issues. Yall are use to poor living conditions at a high price. My husband and I have had to call out a few New Yorkers that moved into our city and paid stupid prices for something that was not worth it. They thought they got a deal. 🙄😑🥴.
