    Hey steve!! #44 here! Boy that brings back great memories!!! What a exciting time for your customer!! I envy getting to watch your videos and seeing it become a beautiful hero car !!! Taking mine to a tv/movie car show. They requested I bring my starsky car. It's a show the previous owner used to, so it hasn't been there since he sold it to me. So they are excited to see it all done the correct way !!! And I'm excited and proud to bring to the show. Its in Bonney lake on the 24th. The shop that builds mad max cars is putting it on. So the car is going on the trailer again, just like when I picked it up! Terry and I will take it there in th camper truck. Creating memories with a great car!! Thanks again! Good luck with #45 !

      Tony, great to hear from you. You are doing what you are supposed to be doing...driving and enjoying your S&H. Are you taking your mad max car too?

      No, I would have to rent another trailer and pay for fuel for 2 trucks towing. Thought about it, but no.i decided I would take it next year. Maybe by then I will have a new big hp motor in it and have the blower working ! Who knows!

    Hey Steve. I will be following this build with great interest for sure. Several years back I mentioned that in 1980 I bought A 1976 Starsky & Hutch Grand Torino. I was the 2nd owner. The car had a 351W with an FMX transmission. It also had black interior with a bench seat, dual remote mirrors, an AM radio and a rear window defroster. I quicky added dual exhaust, slotted mag wheels with fat tires and Gabriel air shocks. Even though it was a pretty barebones car with hardly any options, it was a very nice ride especially for an 18 year old kid. It was sold in 1983 because of a divorce and if I remember correctly it had around 64K on the odometer when I sold it. In 1984 I started a search for the car here in West Tennessee and ran into a dead end because the guy I sold it to moved and no one in his neighborhood nor the post office had his forwarding address. The DMV was unwilling to help me with the search at the time. In 14 short months the car just seemed to have vanish off of the face of the earth. I bought and paid for that car long before my short marriage. I have wished a thousand times that I had just borrowed the money and gave my ex wife half the value of the car.
    Wow, you are now working on #45. As always I'm wishing you the best of luck with this build.

      That is such a great story about your 76. I had a similar story with my first car when I was 16. I bought an 8 year old mint 68 Olds 442 four speed. Had is from 1978 to 1983 I think. I regretted selling it for decades. When I turned 50, thinking I'd never see it again I stumbled onto the current owner and got to go to his town and drive it again. I made a video about it. So maybe there is a chance you will find your 76 torino. Hey, thank you for the best wishes. I'm glad you are following the build.

    Steve...it's good to see that you're back in the saddle again ! Looks like you really got your work cut out for you on this one . Looking forward to see how this one comes along , piece by piece . All the doors & hood seem pretty aligned & solid , AND it starts up right on cue . Good Luck finding all the parts you're gonna need to make this another one of your master pieces !

      I'm pretty excited. It showed up today and I couldn't help myself and had to start working on it. David has all the parts. I'm doing the outside and the door jams, in the trunk and under the hood. He's going to finish the interior. I'm looking forward to picking a dent and working it out after a couple hours.

    I agree on the side trim look better with out it. Wonder where he got the new grill seems hard to find. So nice no rust on the roof. My tail lighs are pitted like that.Of course being Alaska car is probbably why.

    • @born_again_torinos
      @born_again_torinos  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Pot metal behaves quite differently than steel when chromed. Those tail light bezels seem to be a weak point. It's still shocking how many NOS parts show up on ebay.

      @@born_again_torinos Well, no one should say something that they cannot verify that is true. But, I have to say from the last time we spoke I thought you were done doing S&H Torinos and were going to do Knight Rider TAs. So even I who has known you for 12-13 years and was lucky enough to be acquire one your beautiful S&H Torinos thought you were out of the S&H Torinos. Could have been speculation since some time has passed since your last Torino. How long has it been since you finished your most recent Torino?

      @@MrWill73 I wanted to play with the third gen Trans Am. I had fun doing it for chance to do something different. The whole time I was searching for a good torino candidate. A few guys were wanting to ship me their torino to do for them. But David is the only one who was super serious about it. #44 was Tony's and I did it 3 years ago I think.

    Is there a black bumper on the front now, or is that the sheet metal that goes behind?

      Not off hand. You can measure your hat tray and even cut out a pice of cardboard or paper to get it exact.
