2.1 HDMI gives access to eARC allowing you to connect to a receiver from there. This will allow you to connect your devices to the receiver instead of the tv(1 cable is better than 3+ ) this also gives access to DOLBY Atmos. Great visual and great audio.
HI. Looking to buy this on the upcoming prime Days in October 8-9. Can you play "videos" off a USB drive? Is there a built-in media player? What kind of file formats does it read?
For my use case, I'd like to use it like a digital picture frame like my current EchoShow, but I am disappointed that the Alexa responses or notifications are low in volume.
You can definitely still use the digital picture frame on this TV...hopefully, they updated the volume so it's not so quiet. I suspect it's so the notifications aren't screaming loud because you had the tv volume at 90 the night before, lol
@@AtHomewithLucas I bought the 55inch model for 420$ today but won’t get it delivered for a couple of days. From everything I’ve read that seems like a crazy value.
Why can’t I get Spectrum cable on this new tv? I have Spectrum cable and love it get it on my other tvs. But can’t get it on this this tv??? What do I have to do to get my Spectrum cable hooked to this tv??
It's like 70% an echo show. But the notifications are very quiet. Sometimes, it will lose the ability to respond to voice commands (you have to restart or unplug to fix) and it doesn't show info like a Show (moving cards) so in a lot of ways it's not a echo. For me, I use it as an echo, but I also have an echo show in my loft as a second set of microphones and display.
Not to slight this review, but to get the best picture quality and amazon digital services, one should purchase a similarly priced tv (hisense or tcl) with a better array if display options and dolby atmos, then purchase the new fire stick 4k max. 4k max has the ambient function built in. I'm not sure about the "always-on" mode.
Thanks for the feedback. But I'd stay clear of cheap Hisense TV's they have horrible panels. This panel is closer to a $500 and up TV. Amazon really did a good job with this one.
As for the fire stick idea, I think we will see them less and less as all in one tvs become the norm. I think I even read that Amazon will stop making fire sticks soon.
@AtHomewithLucas the u7n series hisense, which i have, is better than the omni tv in every way, and it's costs a pretty penny ($1099 for a 75" on sale). It's brighter, more accurate (picture quality post calibration), has dolby atmos, and up to 144hz refresh plus more . Given the current prices (75" omni qled at $929 and the hisense 75u7n at $1099, the choice is easy. However, if you are like me and have been absorbed into the amazon ecosystem, the features provided by the amazon qled can mimicked within amazon fire 4k max streaming stick. It's worth the extra $170 to have a superior tv. Thanks again for the review and replies.
@AtHomewithLucas this is my first time with a higher end hisense myself. I have one low-end hisense one roku sharp and previously owned a Sharp Aquos 4k tv (2017 release). The lower-end models ive had for 3 and 8 years respectively. The backlight started failing on the aquos at the beginning of this year, which prompted me to purchase the U7N. Amazon has yet to prove longevity with their tvs, so we will all see how this goes. However, given the price and features of the two sets, with the assumption, you have at least 7 years to get peak performance, I'd go with the hisense u7n and a firestick 4k max (if you want the firetv experience).
Is anyone having trouble with updating the software?? All it keeps saying is its unable to update my TV. I've tried factory resetting the tv, unplugging the tv, resetting and unplugging the router and modem and still does not work! Any suggestions??
What makes this a bad video is the feature I am most interested in was not even talked about. To which there is no 4k OTA broadcast TV with out it. That is a NextGen ATSC 3.0 Tuner. I do not care about the apps and other things due to I dumb down the smart tv by not hooking it up to the internet. I use a Roku box. You could have did a better job with this video.
Love you review, gona order one today. Thanks!!!!!
Oh that's awesome! 😀
Okay just got an update that allows tv to be off but Alexa voice controls still work. So now it's closer to being a full echo 🎉😅
The 2.1 hdmi port with a 2.1 cable should be a game changer . Way better frame rate. Great review!!
Hey thanks! Yeah I sadly don't use my hdmi ports (just internal apps) on my tvs. Not a gamer. I need to get a gaming console for reviews tho lol

killer review! 👍
Thanks 💯😁

Yes, it will read from usb and should support all the file formats.
For my use case, I'd like to use it like a digital picture frame like my current EchoShow, but I am disappointed that the Alexa responses or notifications are low in volume.

@chewpocalypse Yes you got a great deal. I still love mine. 💯😀
hey... What's the depth of the feet from front to back? I'm wondering if I have enough room to put this where my old tv was. Thanks!
The tv is around 4 inches from front to the wall.

Do you have a cable box with coax cable?
How good is it in terms of replacing your EchoShow? I want to purchase the FireTV so that it can be a huge EchoShow.

Hdmi ARC and eARC are for sound function and quality.

@SoSaysYou yes, the U7N series is good, but I can't say they will last. I need to get my hands on a good Hisense, so I can't say quality or not.

after 5 months how is the tv i am thinking about getting one
It's still amazing! It keeps getting updates that make it better! The echo feature is really solid now. 👍😁

Oh no mine is up to date as of today. My last update was June 2024. Have you been able to receive any updates?
Just ordered the 50"
Awesome! I still love mine. The updates that I've gotten have made it better than when I first used it.
You can turn off the home screen auto play
Oh awesome! I did it on my firetv max last year but can't remember. How did you so it?
👏👍
Thanks bro
