    What's weird is that black eye makeup makes people with large eyes look like they have bigger eyes...whereas it makes people with small eyes look like they have even smaller eyes :/

      Yeah thank you I was trying to figure out what that was all about...

    • @gertj363
      @gertj363 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Actually if you notice here, the focus was more on the outer edge and lighter colours (i.e. The shimmer) towards the inner corner. That gives an effect of bigger eyes. To have bigger eyes using makeup, you can search "Lisa Eldridge Bigger Eyes Lancome". It's a tutorial. Hope it helps

      Salimah Ramirez that mean she's so good at her craft that she can just pack on a black eyeshadow straight onto the eyelid evenly without guides such as a transition shade often on the hollow of the crease to help the color blend out evenly.

    I watched this video when it came out. Today, I watch it again and realized I had the chance to work with Luma while assisting on a test/fashion shoot. I feel like I am one step closer in meeting you, Lisa! Hahah! Silly, but a girl can dream :). Thanks Lisa, for another great "runway" look! Looks absolutely stunning on Luma!

    I'm amazed by your technique's Liza, I wish I could have at least a quarter of your talent. If other 'beauty gurus' here on yt would've recreated it they would use a transition shade, and another two before going in with a dark brown before the black. They all need to take lessons from you.

    @llessify it sounds to me like you are using too much product. If you are using lipstick, aim to apply a thin stain of colour to the lips by working a small amount into your lips with a brush. For gloss, try applying a thin layer of lip pencil on lips first , patting with fingers to blend and then a thin layer gloss.. The secret to long lasting make up is thin layers applied well x

      @stormi6436 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jessica Nicholls you can wear it whenever! who cares if it’s bold or dramatic, if you like it rock it wherever!

  • @LisaEldridge
    @LisaEldridge  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @chaton20 you really dont need big eyes to rock this look... I've done this type of thing on all sizes of eyes. Instead of using the black pencil on the waterline use a beige coloured one and then replace the black with a shimmery graphite, just the soft grey shade or brown. Bringing the shadow down underneath the eye and creating a big soft cloud of colour all around the eye will make your eyes look bigger. Trust me it works! x

  • @LisaEldridge
    @LisaEldridge  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @gunnasveins Aw thanks! I find the inglot shadows I used to be very nice quality, with a huge range of shades at a reasonable price however you could really use any black or grey shadows as a base for this look. Or you could subsitute with a chocolatey brown, golden olive green or graphite all of these shades would be a good as a dark base. Use whatever you have x

  • @LisaEldridge
    @LisaEldridge  13 ปีที่แล้ว

    @jenevajones991 @xSweetHoneyBeex You can make this look more wearable by further softening and blending the edges and swapping the black shadow base and pencil for grey, chocolate brown, silvery graphite or dark olive green.

    The area beneath my eyes is very similar to this model's, with it being a sort of a purplish shade and having that distinct line between that purplish area and the rest of my face. Combined with the thinner skin around my eyes, it somehow makes it look like I have almost two dark triangles on my face over my eyes (pointing down). It is genetic, but it's not really severe, so I was wondering, what's a quick something I could do every day to cover it up?
    Thanks~ :)

    I love your videos, they are really thorough and helpful :)
    I just wanted to ask if if you could help me with something.. Whenever I apply my liquid foundation, it doesn't go on smoothly. I apply primer before foundation and have tried using a brush and a sponge. This "caking" happens especially on my nose and sometimes on my cheeks. I have quite dry skin. Do you have any tips how I could get rid of this? Thank you!

    I have darker skin, and I find overly pale lips with smokey eyes just looks sort of dead. The face needs a little bit of warming up with the lip colour. Lisa, what kind of lip colours do you suggest for darker skin with this look (using blacks, greys, chocolate browns, coppers, etc). I always have a hard time pairing up the perfect lip colour with the eyes. Thank you so much, I absolutely love your work.

    Really dark blue/purplish shades can be counteracted by salmon/orange tones. Look for the color opposite of the color you're looking to correct on the color wheel, and this will help neutralize that shade. I'd go for the corrector and then a concealer on top if you aren't planning on using a base. Then set it with a light dusting of powder to prevent creasing.

    Hi Lisa, I want to buy the Vichy Dermablend to use it as a concealer as you do... Since I'm buying online I'm taking a risk, so I was wondering if you see differences in undertone between Opal and Nude. Yellow-based or neutral foundations work well for me, anything too pink looks awful. I hope you can help me. Thanks :)
