Kumapim Royals (Akwasi Ampofo Adjei & Amakye Dede) - Yɛrebrɛ [1977][Full Vinyl Album] Ghana Highlife

- This is the second album by the Kumapim Royals Band that we have posted and happens to also be the second album that the band released (The sleeve notes on the back cover claim that this is their first record, but that’s only because the sleeve notes were copied verbatim from the back cover of their actual debut album, Mmoa No Afro Buo, which we will also upload down the line).
As with most of the early Kumapim records, the lead vocal duties are shared between band leader Akwasi Ampofo Adjei and his protégé Abrantie Amakye Dede. The highlights of this album include the original version of Amakye Dede’s evergreen hit “Dantuo Mu Awose,” and my personal favorite Kumapim song, “Yaw Wusu” (which, like so many Ghanaian highlife and gospel songs in 1976 and 77, used the “Zaiko Waa Waa” melody from the Congolese band Zaiko Langa Langa after their famous tour of Ghana in 1976).
As with most of the Kumapim Royals catalog, this record was produced by A.K. Brobbey and released on his Kumasi-based Brobisco’s House of Music record label. The beautiful cover was designed by Augustus Kerry Taylor, one of the best graphic designers in Ghana in those days.

It is 😁
@@SlimGs I now understand why putting the notation "Slim G's Gramophone Bar" on each of the album cover images of your videos is important. Within the first few days of your posting of this recording, another TH-camr has downloaded your whole video, split it into individual songs, and posted them on his channel as if he is the original poster of these songs on TH-cam. And he is obviously taking credit for having brought this record to TH-cam. But those of us that follow this channel know that it is your handiwork.
Gone but not for gotten, RIP dada thick
