Hey guys I hope you find this video interesting. I love creating this way especially on live gigs when I'm taken by a moment and go off somewhere new and start looping completely unscripted stuff... 😂 It's good fun!
As mentioned in the vid for the first time I've filmed a whole set with my Trio for you guys to get an idea of how I do it in the real world as it were. Check out the link above and if not I hope you enjoyed this video and it may inspire you in someway to get creative with this stuff.
    Gear used.

This cat's been my Roland/BOSS guitar/synth guy since forever. If guitar players knew what was good for them, they'd all have a GK-3 on their guitar and I'd have something like a GK-10, or whatever. Roland seems to have abandoned that pup and the GI-20. Sadly. Anyway... It always blows people's minds when I switch that midi pup on, and my hardware and software synths fire up. Continued Success! Keep on rockin'!

Hello Alex, I really like that rolled off Jazz sound, sounds like it is moving air on headphones, like the Chromatic stuff too. I know you are busy, having the 6th and 5th strings 8vb is very effective, I have done the same with my SY1000 with various Guitar models, with a Synth Pad, using the hold function to practice scales and arps, love it. I have the RC10R Looper, I tried looping "Iris" by Wayne Shorter , with Sync off, only way to record 16, 32 bars, but it never loops the correct number of bars, adds on more beats, I do not know why? If you are using Drum parts with the RC600, would it do 16 or 32 bars, or would you use several loops......not ideal really. Do you know the max time you can do for one loop? Love the SY1000 Alex, total powerhouse, awesome with the firmware update too! Can I ask do you think the GR55 is still worth getting, it is from around 2010, do you think Roland will do a new version with that huge sound list? I have really enjoyed Turning my ES335 copy into two Strat's panned in stereo, front pick up, makes me play in a totally different way, I never use DS, but I really like the sound you use there Alex and the Delay, what is the delay time there, total guess, 600ms? Enjoy yours gigs, sorry for all the questions, cheers, Daniel Nutley. I would buy a Fender GC1, but as you know they do not make them anymore.....dam! 👍🎸😁

    • @AlexHutchingsMusic
      @AlexHutchingsMusic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hey mate thanks for your detailed comment and I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
The issue with the drum beat is quite difficult to solve without being in the room with you as it were but you should be able to do almost any amount of measures as you like.
Again it's difficult to know without being there , if you're near a big store that has a Roland rep I'm sure they could help you out if you took it in... If I Iived near you I'd say bring it over... The Gr-55 is a great machine and I love having mine, if you can get a good deal on one, I don't think it would do any harm...Especially as you're familiar with the Roland stuff. The rolled off Jazz tone is actually a Modelled Big Box jazz Guitar.
Yeah shame about the GC-1's but perhaps you could find one second hand somewhere. All the very best mate. 👍🙏🎸

@@AlexHutchingsMusic Cheers Alex, yep, makes sense, will have a closer look at the looper I have, RC10R. Looks like to me if you use a pattern, which is 4 bars it records 4 bars and then puts the next 4 over those etc, rather than record the whole form in real time, thought switching sync off would solve this and of course being spot on with when you stop it, does not seem to work...will find more vid's on YT. Yep, the Jazz sound is like an Archtop, very convincing.....all the best👍🎸

you know,, having all this new style tech is great ...
    but ..
I think at the end of the day ...when the dust settles ... everyone comes back to ..just having a great guitar sound,, for the tune that's being played ..so,, a great guitar and a great amp ..
Then ... above all that ...some great phrasing, expressive and creative .. but not crazy over the top..
That's really what I like about your playing ..phrasing and expression.. it pulls the listener along .
    I wouldn't go to a gig and say " he's got a GR|S --55/297 with patch number 998 h25F "
I just think .... THAT player has s a great sound, and uses it so well ////

Oh I agree mate, and I love that too, it's just an interesting way to experiment with a different set up really. And I've really enjoyed using this on these type of gigs over the last year or so. Of course when playing with a Funk/Fusion band I'm straight into an amp with a few pedals. Or sometimes the 100w head and massive pedal board... 😅 Just depends on the gig. What's your rig of choice mate? 👍🙏🎸

@Alex Hutchings Oh yeah ... don't get me wrong here,, it's great to know what's around and how fantastic it can be ..... like messing with a SythAxe or Axe FX II... you could spend hours and hours with it, and actually not play anything ....
      I have a Fender Stage 185 , Squire Strat ( upgraded Pickups) .. Korg Multi effects ..
for recording, just the multi-effects straight in .
You know what's weird as well ... if I picked up your gear ,,, right now,, no changes, just after you played it ... and you picked up mine ...
I would sound the same ,,, exactly like me ... and you would still sound like you . !
Doesn't that seem to mean that the real sound comes from the player? not the gear.
and yet, physically ,, were the same ... 8 fingers 2 thumbs
So the difference must really be ... what's in your head ... how you think ?,
      maybe ...
      strange isn't it ?
sorry if that went a bit deep there .....

It's pretty versatile for sure, although it's also quite old so if it's just for guitar tone I think there will be much better stuff out there these days. Cheers for now 👍🙏🎸
