- Riven is a champion with unlimited possibilities and potential. In this short video, 60 of her most common animation cancels & combos will be shown in rapid succession, plus an execution of some of her hardest wallhops.
Animation canceling is the act of reducing the cast time of one or several abilities by casting them in a specific order and/or time frame. While this concept is not unique to Riven, her animation canceling potential is so huge that it has become a fundamental part of her kit, where the cast time of a normal combo without animation cancels can be halved with the power of animation canceling. By using the two basic animation cancels known as the Fast Combo and the Doublecast as a foundation, Riven players have developed over a hundred completely unique combos since her release in 2011. Today’s Riven mains can cast their entire kit in under one or two seconds, despite three of her four abilities having a total cast time of about a second each.

Omg man, as a Riven main I was worried if riot couldn't implement the all the animation cancels especially the fast q but you my man did it PERFECTLY with the guide, you did it so smooth and perfect its the same on pc, amazing and I'm happy it's WR now.

Bro can we see some of this in action can you record some gameplay of you doing this? I think that would be pretty amazing
I might consider doing a matchup or laning guide once exams are over (probably laning first since many of Riven’s counters aren’t released yet) and if I do I will definitely try to have all of the key combos in action.

@@taewoods2034 I will likely buy a new phone around end of august and will be using that instead of my current 2014 ipad to record, since keeping 60fps at a decent graphic quality is currently possible only if there’s just me and a target dummy :/

Do you have dash in option on or off?
Personally I have it on off, but it’s really down to your preference. Valor will aim at the direction you’re facing for both settings; as for Broken Wings, if you set it as off, it will cast toward the direction you’re facing only if there aren’t any enemies around. Therefore, if you find it hard to navigate through a fight you might want to consider turning the dash option on. However, note that doing so may affect your combos since your first skill may unintentionally go through your target. Otherwise, if you can get used to aiming your first skill whenever you use it in a teamfight you can turn the dash option off for higher precision. It shouldn’t affect the speed of which you execute burst combos since you usually cast Broken Wings last in a doublecast, and have the time to manually aim it while other skills are being casted.
