- Paul Maxwell is best known to Anderson fans as Steve Zodiac in Fireball XL5, Captain Grey in Captain Scarlet or as a crewman on board Sky Diver in UFO. Paul enjoyed a long and successful career in TV and film, appearing in all kinds of media in the 70s , 80s and beyond.

I'll always remember Paul Maxwell as the voice of Steve Zodiac in FIREBALL XL5 and Captain Grey in Captain Scarlet! What an Actor, S.I.G!
He was superb in Thunderbirds Are Go.
James Cameron loved Fireball XL5 and hired Paul Maxwell for Aliens due to his great international voice style.
Cameron is a Anderson fan in general: he based the design of the Cheyenne Dropship from Thunderbird 2 and also worked with VFX technicians from the shows such as Brian Johnson and Steve Begg on ALIENS at Pinewood Studios.

I really enjoyed that. I'm glad you showed scenes from 'It!' (1967) - one of my favourite movies - it's about a Golem, and the one in the movie is a wonderfully nightmarish design.
My Mum had a crush on him. I was always hoping She would leave my Dad and go off with Steve Zodiac. But it never happened.
I love Beyond Anderson. You learn so much about the cast. I'd love to see more.

First He Was The Voice Of Steve Zodiac From Gerry Anderson's Fireball XL5 In 1962 And Now He Was Also Known As The Voice Of Captain Gray One Of Captain Scarlet's Best Friends From Gerry Anderson's Captain Scarlet And The Mysterons The Original Series In 1967 And He Also Played The Voice Of Captain Paul Travers From Gerry Anderson's Thunderbirds Are GO The Movie In 1966. Paul maxwell was also in the missing out of the unknown season 3 episode "the naked sun"(1968).
A fine actor with a great voice. I recall Maxwell provided voice-over narration for a commercial advertising Scotland in the 1980s: ironically enough I recently watched Sir Richard Attenborough's WWII epic A BRIDGE TOO FAR which he appeared alongside Sir Sean Connery as a tribute after his passing.

Xl5 was, and is, always my favourite. I was 8 and 9 when it aired and followed it madly every week. No-one in the house could talk to me when it was on, and expect a reply. I was constantly drawing the ship and the robot. I had a toy XL5 that you shot in the air by catapult and it parachuted back down. I also had Steve onone of those space hover scooters, but I wasn't so keen on that.
Fascinating documentary. Nice to see this series making a return.

Distinctive voice and screen presence. Was surprised to learn he played the man in the Panama Hat in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

Or a British actor! e.g. Damian Lewis and Rupert Friend in Homeland.
As in the case of Donald Sutherland who established his acting career appearing in British TV and film before moving to Hollywood after THE DIRTY DOZEN (his son Kiefer was born in London during shooting of that film). Fellow Canadian Shane Rimmer and Brooklyn-born Ed Bishop called themselves 'Rent-a-Yank' actors in the UK!
@@MarkFoster321789 Shane Rimmer was the voice of the Scott Tracy puppet in Thunderbirds who I loved as a child - I always noticed his name in the credits at the end. Then later he was in one of the Bond films with Roger Moore - I can't remember which?
@@dianastevenson131 Shane was indeed Scott: he appeared in three Bond films. You Only Live Twice with fellow Anderson associates Ed Bishop sharing a scene with him at the beginning, and David Healy (Shane Weston in Joe 90 and Supermarionation voice artist) later: they all also appeared in Diamonds Are Forever and Shane in The Spy Who Loved Me.
