I bet that sounds killer. I've been meaning to try flats forever but haven't gotten around to it yet, might try some on this p bass once it's time for a change though
like 80% Joy Division is all downstrokes, but I have pretty firm/aggressive picking technique and much better timing this way. I also have some mild carpal tunnel so it can be a little tricky for me do all downstrokes a lot of the time.
@@TylrMrshll This was not a criticism of you. It was a criticism of Hook’s “playing.” This is not professional competent bass playing. I am sure that you can play far better than Peter Hook!
Peter hook has not ever been interested in being a 'professional competent bass player' and he's perfectly happy with that. He makes 'sounds' that thrill him and fit the sound of the music and band(s) he played in. End of. Go listen to pastorious or Stanley Clarke if you want professional competent bass playing, or a session musician. But does the competent session bass player's stuff make the hairs on the back of your neck stand on end when you're 15 years old listening in your bedroom ? Probably not. Tis what it is.
This is why I roll my eyes when Paul Banks says Interpol doesn’t sound like Joy Division.
It doesn't seem like it, it starts with the fact that interpol uses 2 guitars
❤
Great cover. Never realized how similar this bassline was to Isolation.
Brilliant! Always loved These Days, one hell of a b-side. In the post-punk days of yore it made you feel like you were where it was at!
Great cover dude, love the tone spot on!
great playing! i like joy division's b-sides better than the hits sometimes...
100% agree. This one, Transmission, and Dead Souls are some of my all time favorites.
@@TylrMrshll and Warsaw, soo into early Ian's higher singing and overall punk-rebel vibe
Kickass cover man
Excellent!
Congratulations from Brazil👍🏻
Well Done Mate…..🙌
fantastic, thx
So good 👍
Joder que buenos son.
Got the same bass but i put flatwounds on it. I love it. I didn't know this song and the bass line's cool so I'll have to try it out

Nice
Excelent! 🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
Tabs?
Great tone. Flatwounds?
actually no, just regular ernie ball round wounds, the E is a 105. I kinda choked back the tone knob a lil here though
Shouldn't the verse riff be played without alternate picking, downstrokes only?

Nicely done. Typical JD, a bit off tune :)
Shows Peter Hook’s incompetent playing!
Lol wow thanks for the constructive comment. He makes 2 mistakes in the recording, and I played the mistakes so I guess you're right.
