    Great video. In 2011 I bought my first ThinkPad T420 then after two years a switched to T530i. It has served very well for a long time (it it now serving as a learning mechine for my 10 years old daugher) but I started to fascinating about powerfull windows ultrabook. I bought in 2019 ThinkPad X1 gen 1 4K touch screen. After the 3 years I realised that is not good machine to me.... It cannot handle 8-12 non stop working. Having connected two external monitors (1st is 38' Dell 3840x1600 and 2nd 24' Dell FHD) even with additonal cooling pad the keyboard is extremely hot between april and october in Europe. So if you are working as a programmer it is not fun at all. So I decided to back to bulky workstation, but instead of ThinkPad P73 Gen 2 I have choosen Dell Precision 7760 i7-11850h RTX A4000 + 3 additional SSD Samsung 980 PRO and display FHD 500 nits. I decided to change to Dell beacouse a one reason. Since a year I have been working for a new company and they gave me Dell Latitude 5511. Sometines I work on it for 12 hours without any issues. After a year I can admit it is a quite good programming machine so I decided to buy as private workstation it biggest brother. It will come in two days. I hope I will not regret :)

    Hi Jorge,
    Excellent Review!!
    I have a question for you:
    What do you think about the Dell Precision 7530 model?
    I´m being offered this workstation with 1 Tb hard drive and Ram 64 Gb, this model has NVIDIA Quadro P2000. Although this model is now discontinued.

    wow ! Thanks very much for the quality of your video ! I must have read over 100 articles and watched over 100 videos. None of them answered my questions.
    Very difficult to find a real serious comparison that goes into depth.
    I'm hesitating to buy a Dell Precision 7560 workstation or an Alienware m15 (with AMD Ryzen) to do video editing on Davinci Resolve.
    I guess the workstation is more suitable? Even if Davinci Resolve uses a lot of GPU and recommends Nvidia Geforce RTX cards (which target gamer pc's at the base) overcloak like the 3060 TI for example.

    Very interesting, is this the best configuration for you for Autocad 2d/3d, 3dstudio, Photoshop (A4000 and 11800) for a quiet and performer laptop? Or A5000 with a better i9 or xeon is quiet too? Could you make a video about fan noise e temperature only? 😊 Thanks, super Dell workstation anyway and super video.

    • @JorgeMoralesAv
      @JorgeMoralesAv  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think an A4000 and the 11800 is definitely the best configuration for Autocad and Photoshop. Higher end components will only increase the price but you will no take advantage of the extra features and performance unless you are dealing with really heavy models or images.

    great review! I've actually got one Dell 7560 based on it! so Dell should definitely get you a beer for that!
    I just wanted to ask if you (or anyone) had any problems with the laptop getting too hot!? after 10 minutes of doing nothing, it's like a burning hot brand new laptop, so I disregard some of the issues an old laptop would imply.
    One of the game changer arguments was that it can take a lot of load without getting hot. I don't even care how loud it gets, I need this power on the road.
    Are there any settings I can do or should I consider it a hardware problem? could only mine have a defect, or is this a known problem?
    10x a lot! Cheers!

      Yes, hot and blocking USB ports. Needs shut down to cool off, sometimes twice in a working day. I'm considering external cooling in order to work smoothly. And I'm not the only one with this problem in my office: let's say 3 units out of 30 have it.

      Put new thermal paste on the cpu. There's a good chance it may have not been properly applied originally. Thermal paste dries out over time and with use degrades making it run hot.
      A fresh repasting of thermal paste should definitely help cool a lot better. M
      ake sure fans are clean and there's not dust or other potential obstructions to airflow. Good luck👍

Do you think this graphics card will work well for graphic design who need rendering? Or should i switch to xps with RTX A2000?? Appreciate your input. thx

    hi - i bought a 7770 precision but am returning because it is to bulky and heavy. I am ordering a 7670 Precision 16" with oled and top specs. Screen height is same (8.5") but narrower (13.6" instead of 15"). It is smaller and around a pound lighter. What you think? is this the best laptop available?

    These are a pain in the butt, either they stop recognizing the docking station or the battery. Most of the time a Firmware or Bios update will fix it but never the less is a pain since they are high maintenance.

    if you were to choose between 7560 with Nvidia T1200 4GB and 5560 with Nvidia RTX A2000 4GB. All other specs are the same which one will you choose? my understanding is that RTX is faster graphics card? Also will 5560 gets overheated than 7560? or the cooling system is the same? thx

    You cannot compare a gaming machine to a workstation as the two are usually marketed to different users. While there may admittedly be some overlap nowadays between the machines, with the advent of faster processors and improved graphics, workstations are still better suited for demanding tasks such as serious content creation 3-D modeling, CAD and scientific analysis. In my opinion, any way.

    • @alexandreangelo79
      @alexandreangelo79 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      "You cannot compare a gaming machine to a workstation"? WHY NOT?? You are totally wrong. Videos like this one are pretty good to non-professionals understand the differences between workstation/gaming machines. In fact, this video just show what you wrote in your comment. Your opinion doesn't make any sense. (In my opinion, any way).

    Hi! Do you know how this compares with the 7540? :D

    • @JorgeMoralesAv
      @JorgeMoralesAv  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, i had only the 7740, but in my experience, it will be a similar result just with 2 generations older Hardware, in that time was the RTX4000 the predecesor of the A4000 and the 9th or 10th generation of Intel Core series. Pretty much is the same exterior design. I think if you have an RTX card on a 7540 (not the T2000 or something like that) will be still a pretty solid machine. Thanks for watching!

      I do not really like the 5000 Series, in my experience, I have had the 5520 and the 5540, and they get really hot when 100% CPU and GPU load until the point they will shut down to prevent further over heating. Dell replaced both machines, the problem was usually the same after. Thanks for watching!

    (Dell Technologies recommends Windows 11 Pro for business)
    Intel® UHD Graphics
    64 GB, 4 x 16 GB, DDR4, 3466 MHz, SuperSpeed
    M.2 2280 1 TB, Gen 3 PCIe x4 NVMe, SED Solid State Drive
    Do i need a vga graphics card
    Do i need to up my memory to 2 TB
    Thank you.

    • @JorgeMoralesAv
      @JorgeMoralesAv  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Bosco, you definitely should get a dedicate gpu, because the apps that you mention will totally required a GPU to even run. I would not recommend update to 2 TB. You can do that always yourself for a much cheaper price. For the Graphics card, i would recommend you the A3000, A4000 or the A5000.
