There hasnt been an Anime with an Ending that satisfied me like 86. I broke down in Tears after the last Episode.

While not a peaceful ending because they are still at war, it's still a good ending. I am hoping for a second season and a true ending where the war ends and they all survive.

because it's not that hard to make one, much less to make it fail. it's a big ol shoot at me sign with sparkly colors and fireworks attached.

86 is seriously an anime Any fan of any genre needs to watch. No joke, it is so under appreciated an a hidden gem among all the new an over hyped anime. As much as I want a new season, i feel it's mystery an amazing ending is where it needs to stay. It does so well with such a little series and has easily worked its way into my top 10.
It follows the light novel but still I think it one of those anime that could end and rest can be books etc

Shin actually met his brother's soul in his dream. His brother's consciousness was transferred to Legion tank but this one was heavily damaged so Legion couldnt fully control his consciousness. With the damaged unit, he destroyed legion units which were attacking Shin and his squadmates and saved them. Later he escorted them to Giad's border where he destroyed by Giad's walkers.
Shin killed his brothers legion was that in the manga or something?

@@sulwhale3171 Light novel as the name suggests is a short novel... So yes mostly words. There are a couple illustrated pages but that's about it. Most light novels have a page cap that is roughly the minimum you'd expect from a full novel. Exceptions exist for both and they can overlap. Distinction is arguably arbitrary. 86 is originally a light novel

A amazing anime.
Even though these videos are well narrated, I STRONGLY suggest watching this one for yourself. It is top tier stuff I assure you from start to finish with an great ending which is rare these days as you know. Heck since everything is being milked there is almost never ANY conclusion, nevermind a satisfying one.
Is Lena really elite, or is she simply the only one competent enough to do her job? Even if the 86s are considered as expendable as ammunition, Shin pointed out their tactics were going to get them all killed by the Legion and they'll have no one left to defend themselves. The other officers are not just racist, they're racist to the point it overrides self preservation. Even if the other officers try to treat it like a contest, Lena's squad are probably the ones with the best K/D ratio by far. In short, everyone else are not just racist, they're a bunch of idiots.
The main goal of the propaganda is to justify all atrocities they committing towards non Alba. They need the racist policies so to make sure no 86 becomes citizens again. They think they're using legions to do the deed to keep their hands clean. And they don't need 86 to defend them because the legions are gonna expire soon anyways.
She is a a bit of both but because of her competence she got the position of major
In the light novel volumes, she is shown to be absolutely elite; she was able to memorize the map layout of a structure the size of a literal mountain and direct troops within in purely from memory, a feat that even a genius who was able to create machines on a similar level to the Legion was completely unable to do. Also, she literally was the main reason anyone in the Republic was able to survive for so long when the Legion struck, as she was the commander responsible for the strategy and tactics in their defense line. With what you see in the anime, she doesn't appear that elite, but in the light novel volumes, she is definitely an incredible commander, made even better by the fact that, unlike the Republic, the 86 have absolute faith in her due to her being literally the only competent commander they ever had, making her the perfect commander for them.

In the anime it seems she has less a photographic memory and it implies (we don't get too much screentime of "idle" moments so not much is explicit) that she's poring over visible aids like computer maps or hand ones. But even if she was doing smart stuff off screen that got glossed over in the anime, it's easy to look like an elite when you're the only competent person in the job, which is why I asked that.

I like this channel as well, personally I found 86 to be very overrated and couldn't bring myself to watch. A recap is perfect in this situation, giving a nice digestable plot summary.

"Morpho" looks like the German railgun named Schwerer Gustav
there seems to be a theme with some shows whenever a giant artillery cannon is added as a plot point/weapon for an on going war it always seems to have a gustav like design for example the spirit energy cannon from avatar in the legend of korra which is literally a laser gustav that is not only mounted on rails like the real life gustav but its also arm mounted on a giant robot

As great as this recap is, people will be missing out the music, which made the show all the more better. The last song was practically god-tier!
i loved this anime. the action was fun to watch, especially in season 2 and the ending of each season were filled with emotion. i'm hoping for a season 3
Technically all of the episodes of this anime that are currently so far are all considered to be season 1. It's just that the entire season divided into two parts.

@@GreatChickenGod Well I can tell you for certain that the story of this anime is far from over. The anime has currently only covered 2 volumes of the Light Novel source material and still has 9 more volumes left to cover. Not to mention that the Light Novel of this anime is still ongoing.

It's been awhile since I watched anime with such an extraordinary level of story telling. This masterpiece of an anime is definitely more than worthy enough of earning a second season. Not to mention that this anime has only covered two volumes of the light novel as its source, which still has 9 more volumes to cover from the light novel which is still ongoing.
so im gonna asume the end of the anime is just the end of the current novels as the rest is yet writen gez. but ya its hard stop rare you find souch a good writing for a anime. im tempted to bendge this JUST to know it all. (and give theres only 23 or so ep i say its one even a bussy man can watch just extending it over like a month.
This anime covered 3.25 volumes of content (it used roughly a fourth of Volume 10's sidestories as well).

@@shugen6397 but the initial episode had a slow pacing. And unnecessary death of a side character (Eugene) . Like in s1 daiya and Kaie death really felt somewhat sad. Plus Frederica's character wasn't give much importance or developed and only her relationship with shin is shown. And her mascot role was very little.

Was really surprised to see how much I liked this anime considering I'm not a fan of gundam or mecha in general. The character interactions, the challenges they all face in order to right just a few of the wrongs made for a compelling and interesting story.
I loved the outro song and the ending did give me some heavy feels in a good way, but now I don't know if its the perfect place to leave it or if there should be a season 3, the bar has been set too high damn it.

Lena doesn't have prejudice. Prejudice requires forced opinions. Lena, from even the very, very beginning of the show, show's the complete absence and opposite of prejudice. She's simply ignorant and un-knowing of reality of the 86.

Huh, this isn't the sort of show I would watch normally, as the dark war themes tend to not be my thing without it being a Gundam series, and that's more because Gundam tends to start that way, and end Super Robot-ish. That said, you portray it well, and I thank you for that.
The ending is not "hell yeah super justice gundam or unicorn gundam have a sudden surge of power of anime" No... Theres no such thing as that, its way different from gundam, and its a bit more chill with sweet interactions, the ending is.... Beautiful, just watch it
That's more the newer Gundam series anyways. Older series, anything super powerful had a devastating drawback, psycho frame eats the pilot/Gundam X main cannon only powered with the moon and tends to cause a mental breakdown of the user's friends/EVERYTHING involving cyber-newtypes/etc.
@@vrcommandoata5403 That is true, and heck, even the newer stuff can cause problems. And of course Kamille Bidan exists in old gundam. Stupidest supposedly thinking creature in anime, that one. By the end of his series he's in a permanent coma, and every person he knew and loved is dead. And mostly because of his own actions.

I watched this anime since the first episode when it came out and I lost interest due to many breaks in between episode release dates. Lately I picked it up again and let’s just say it has become one of my favorite animes. This is the type of show that you fall in love in your second watch, at least for me.

I feel this was heavily inspired by Code Geass Akito the Exiled, all the beginning has several similar themes and the ML are extremely similar.

No, the Juggernauts aren't in any way advanced. They're only armed with 57mm autocannons and 12.7mm machine guns, has bare minimum avionics, absolutely no safety features, and it has no armor that even freaking shrapnel can pierce through the hull.
They were described as coffins many times in the series. Heck, the other countries had way better mechs than the ones the 86 use.
The Reginleif was the Federacy's own take of the Juggernauts, and those have significantly better performance, armaments and survivability. And even then, they're still considered unsafe by the Federacy's standards and has an extremely high learning curve to master.

A must watch series, the direction eats and the sound design is cool too and most importantly the characters are not jerks ,a very well done romance in a non-romance genre (may i even say even better than most of the couples of romance genre)and it does not shy to light upon the racism and not try to belittle or cover it up

One note. At the end Shin didn't recognize Lena as well until she activated her RAID which he immediately recognize her voice. That's why he was acting like his normal uncaring self until he heard her voice and his eyes start brightening up in the same way she realizes who her team is gonna be at the end of the episode
