Max turned 6 years old on May 4, 2017 and this is a celebration video featuring photos from the first day when I got him. He's an amazing and beautiful feline. Every day is a gift.
The music "Mothers" is by composer Eddie Hermoso who gave me special permission to use it for Max's video. Eddie is very gifted and I love this piece.
I'm a lifelong cat lover, too, and I can see how much you love that magnificent boy. The photos raise many questions. But PLEASE, Miss Bernie, post the realities of keeping an animal like this, so as to discourage those who just think it'd be cool to have an exotic pet! Tell us about the DAILY COMMITMENT of time, of money, of trying to constantly enrich his enclosure/habitat, the actual costs of food, vet care, enclosure, required licensing & training if any, liability insurance, the years of devoted care & commitment it takes. Please tell people the horribly abusive, cruel truth about de-clawing a cat, in case they plan to do that, to protect themselves & others from injury & liability. 🥺 Best of luck and health to you, and to Max. ❤ Thank you.
@Suraya - Agree which is why I wrote a book on Max which includes the behaviors and cost. His website explains a lot too as do other videos. I answer all questions and discourage having a lynx as a pet and always stress that he is not declawed. Thankfully, most states and countries prohibit owning one. Thank you! 😻

@@wildlifebernie Yeah I don't now how the Russian lady does it with LUNA the Blac Panther...with her friend a Rottweiler of the same age whose given name escapes me because it's Russian. Presumably she's very rich indeed and Luna is a glorious and well-adjusted big pussycat who IS a big pussycat! She's about a year and a half so still a itten really! Please loo her up she is a pure delight to behold! A very very dar brown leopard and still has spots of course but the camera can scarcely see them even in daylight. Pity!

Yes the bigger the pussycat the bigger the commitment and the bigger the everything...lie Max himself; I thin these fellows traded half their tails for ear-tufts extra floofiness a purr that maes the glassware fall from the shelves ...basically just MORE pussycat! Except for the tail! You'd have thought it would be so helpful for balance that they'd still have a lovely big tail as a clouded leopard does living in a similar environment... Selection pressures can be weird; just loo at the peacoc- grr! Don't ever buy a Hewlett-Pacard please. Garbage and made shitty/cheaply/pissta-ingly badly made.
Please give Max a nose-nudge for me. I'm deprived! :(

I was going to say the same thing. His paws are scary but beautiful. My Cat named Devlin (Lil Shit) love to play ruff and boy does it hurt some times. I had his front claws taken out because I had a dog with big eyes and the vet suggested it. Boy am I glad I did it. Love him to pieces.

@Joanna Edwards - Thank you! It was a LOT of photographs that no one had seen and I thought putting together a little life history of Max would be nice for his followers. I had to go through hundreds of pics and as his mom, every picture is a keeper! haha. Again, thanks. 😻

AvieMare Cougars are pretty breathtaking too & a black panther (leopard) face to face & up close is incredible! I got a black panther at Bigcatrescue in Tampa,FL to “slow blink” me in Jan.! It was sooo cool.

I am definitely a cat person. I live alone with my brown Burmese female cat who is now 2 yrs old. My ex-wife bought her for me to replace my last cat (also a female brown Burmese) after I had to put her down. She was 18yrs old and got lymphoma. I do not allow my cats outside at all because of the damage they do to native wildlife and I don't believe any pet cat should be allowed outside for this reason. Burmese are the most loving affectionate cats you can have. They are intelligent and can be trained if you take the time. Lucy will sit, lie down, stay, fetch and give me a kiss (more like a head-butt). She can also open and close the interior doors in my unit and when she gets the shits with me she will slide open the wardrobe doors, climb inside, pull my clothes down for a bed and close the door behind her. My ex-wife didn't believe me when I told her she could do these things until she went to the bathroom and closed the door. Lucy let herself in and sat on her lap.

All of them....
To be honest, all felines -"cats"-, including domestic cats, tigers, pumas, bobcats, leopards, panthers, ocelots, lynxes, ... are extremely independent, meticulously clean, independent, egotistical but "cuddly" when they want to be pampered. And the vast majority of them learns -within one or two days- where their litter box is and chances are they will almost never fail, except if you don't keep it clean. You cannot do that with a dog!
I love Max ( canadian lynx) but I wanna say that Jaguar I love more. It has something special... ❤❤❤😘😘😘

Max is the perfect specimen of the Lynx. The gorgeous coat (looks better on the cat instead of some woman’s back), the long legs, the beautiful tufted ears and last but not least, those enormous paws. Now tell me, who could not fall in love with Max!

That's a great point because they made sure he was tested and treated for his medical issues. That is why he is alive and thriving. They are doing a great job with this cat.

Very cute as a cub/kitten, majestic as an adult. At first I feared that he'd passed away, but I'm happy that he's still with us and hopefully will be for many years to come.

I've only seen them in the wild twice when I was up north. It's a rare privilege for a person to have such a strong bond with this beautiful animal.

About 5 years ago on Christmas morning I got up to feed my chickens and found all five of them dead. The bobcat which had entered the coop was trapped inside and was furiously digging his way out.I thought about going to get my rifle and shooting it but realized he was doing what cats do.

That cat didn't eat your 5 chickens, it just killed them. I couldn't have shot the cat either but just remember that it didn't kill one, eat one, and then go after the next, it killed all 5 at once. The cat doesn't share your sentimentality nor your ability to personify.

My thoughts exactly. I'm a gun lover, but would never shoot one unless my life depended on it. Gorillas, big cats all the animals are a treasure.
My idiotic cousins live up in North Texas and shoot bobcats whenever they are seen, they say it's to protect their chickens and ducks, I truly don't believe that they have ever lost a single bird to a bobcat, some people just have shitty ways, I'm also a gun lover, but I don't hunt period, I don't have anything against it, I just can't see why I would shoot an animal even if I intended to eat it, my life does not depend on it, so why take something more from the planet.

When I was younger I hated cats! All it took was the adoption of the right cat and now I’m a dedicated cat lover! Max is a beautiful cat and I can’t thank you enough for giving him a loving home and sharing him with people so they can see hoe beautiful these animals are!!!!
