    You are among the most excellent 3D Max tutors out there! Thanks again for a wonderful tutorial.

    Amazing result! what tool do you use to sculpt at the beginning? ---- Oh, its just a regular Move Conform Brush...

      +gos252 Shift drag one, to be more precise :) In the freeform tools on the ribbon.

      Glad you liked the tutorial! The author no longer works with us, and this is from 2016 and 3ds Max has changed a lot since then, so we can't say for sure what was used here - but given the 6 years, there are probably new ways to do the sculpting anyway ;) Thanks! Tom

      I tried it by converting the sphere to an editable poly. Then I turned Soft Selection on and used the Move tool. Because the mesh is so dense you can click anywhere and start pulling. It's really quite fun and I believe that's how he did it.

      I am pretty sure it's "freeform" (or other) tool from 3ds Max ribbon menu: docs.autodesk.com/3DSMAX/15/ENU/3ds-Max-Help/index.html?url=files/GUID-F2C0C6D6-968E-40F1-9474-5A7FC44FBC06.htm,topicNumber=d30e119611

      I can see no reason why not, V-Ray has its own volume material. Best to check the Chaos YT channel for tutorials, or pop into the Chaos forums if you want to ask the community how they tackle similar situations! Thanks! Tom

    Neat! Is there a special reason why you work with a really tiny model? The sphere is about one meter in the tutorial.

    • @LudvikKoutnyArt
      @LudvikKoutnyArt 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +iLEZtube Not really, I just did not want to bother with scale :) The workflow is same, regardless of scale. Only absorbtion depth/displacement depth values differ.

    Hello. If I want to make clouds irregular to see buildings under the clouds, what should I do?

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Add a noise, or texture map, into the absorption slot, to make it so that some parts of the clouds are invisible - that's the quick suggestion, but for more detail, questions like this are best asked over on the forum where support and the community will see them, be able to reply, you will be able to share example photos of the effect you are after, screengrabs of UI setups (or even scenes) can be shared, etc. forum.corona-renderer.com/index.php Thanks! Are voxels supported in Corona? Like fumefx

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is not fully supported, but some users did manage to get FumeFX working with Corona: corona-renderer.com/forum/index.php/topic,10255.msg65430.html#msg65430

    What are the scripts for camera in the toolbar you are using? Lock camera, etc

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dont know which scripts were used here, sorry - best bet is to post on the forums where users, tutorial author etc. will see the question and be able to answer! corona-renderer.com/forum/index.php Thanks! Tom

    How can you get such smooth results in Cinema 4D?

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Sulphurous! The same parameters are in Corona Renderer for Cinema 4D, so the same set-ups should work there as in 3ds Max. The only change would be the modeling steps (and the parameters will be in a different location in the UI). You can find the info page about volumetrics in Corona Renderer for Cinema 4D over at help.c4d.corona-renderer.com/support/solutions/articles/12000035577-how-to-use-volumetrics-

    • @sulphurous2656
      @sulphurous2656 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      CoronaRenderer I see, its the modelling parameters that I was asking about in particular, when i talked about the smoothness of the cloud geometry, compared to the ragged and jagged fashion these displacements are presented in Cinema 4D. Might have something to do with the noise octaves, through I'll check to make sure. Thank you very much for giving useful advice in the comments of these videos .

    • @ChaosCorona
      @ChaosCorona  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      In Max, usually a smoothing modifier of some sort is applied (MeshSmooth, TurboSmooth or OpenSubdiv), should be possible to do the same thing in C4D - apply displacement to get the rough shape, then apply Subdivision Surface to smooth it out. Hopefully that helps!
