Kenna I really appreciate your vulnerability in this vlog, and I hope you know how much your transparency helps me and probably many others. It can be so hard with chronic illnesses to express our emotions because we don’t want to sound like a complainer, pessimistic, or be a burden. But it’s so important to feel our feelings or else we just shove them down until we feel like we’re drowning. Ilysm and I want to remind you that you’ve got an amazing community here to support you whenever you need to vent 💛
chronic illness can be extremely frustrating, feel free to rant as often as you need to. your pins are so adorable and im really glad your launch was successful! i hope the motegrity alone is going okay, being without linzess must be hard :(
I’m so sorry that you’re going through all this. Having GP is hard enough as it is without having to worry about insurance companies etc. In the Uk we have the NHS & even tho some people complain about it, I am so grateful for it. Take care. x
Your business just keeps flourishing! So excited for you and proud of you. You are inspiring and I hope you know that sharing your story is making a difference in people's lives. Love the pin and I am setting an alarm for sweatshirt launch!
Please please don't feel you have to apologise for anything, chronic illness sucks. I'm in awe of how much you do from day to day. I had a Dr's appointment yesturday and finally said the words I've been dreading for over a month. That I have been struggling with my depression and anxiety. He was really nice, kind and gentle about it that I didn't have anythink we couldn't solve together. I love how your shop has just taken off, and proves there are so many people deally with hard things on a daily bases. Sending you all my prayers, hugs and friendship from Karalyn Laurette from Perth Western Australia
Hello, I hope things went well with the sitz marker test, the bloating has come down & you get what you need quickly. I know how uncomfortable bloating is & how frustrating things can be, especially with the insurance. They should not be able to dictate what you can have. That has always urked me. The doctor and you know what’s best & not the insurance co, but they’re only in it for the $ and not actually helping ppl. It’s always a fight. I’m extremely bloated today, worse than usual and ughhhh, I hate how uncomfortable I feel. The pins are awesome! I love mine! ❤ And thank you for not putting it on a backing. It made it easier with these RA hands and you are correct, it’d just be ripped up and thrown out. It saves money and will produce less garbage. Can’t wait for the new pin & I cannot wait for the new sweatshirt launch (that sweatshirt looks amazing, comfortable & I love that color). I love seeing Lux in your videos. He’s adorable. PS: it’s always best to rant & get it out of your system. We’re always here for you.
The last few days of the sitz marker were rough but I made it through! And I agree the insurance shouldn’t really have a say it’s not fair! I’m so happy you love the pin and the minimal packaging that makes me so happy!
Yes, I know what you mean by the insurance problems. I am still waiting for my insurance to approve Lizness. It has been two weeks, and I have been battling severe constipation. Nothing works. Tried everything otc and many prescriptions. Sometimes I do not know what is worse, doctors or insurance. You would think doctors would look in your chart to see what medicines you are on. Mine do not. I have to remind them which medicines I am on because most of the medicines they prescribe me cannot be mixed with the medicines I am taking. I hope you get everything squared away with insurance and your doctors. Great book options! And I love the sweatshirts! They are so cute. ❤
9:47 I totally understand where you’re coming from, my insurance has been iffy in approving both linzess and motegrity but like you said, it’s the only thing that helps. I’ve found motegrity, 200 mg ducolax, and Senna have worked well for me, you can get both over the counter. It’s so excessive but it’s something when nothing else works!
Insurance can be infuriating! I completely understand and have been through this a few times as well. I hope your GI can find a safe med combo that works for you! The pins are so cute! I cant wait to see the new designs.
Yeah, any time there's issues with my meds, I go a little crazy too. Like right now I'm having issues trying to get my buscopan filled. The pharmacy told me they're more distributor has a shortage of it, so they're going to try a different one. But like this medication helps with my cramps anx I only have a weeks worth of it and I'm getting very stressed about it.
I am so sorry you’ve been struggling. I am frustrated for you!! What is it about GI doctors! Gosh, I swear we all have issues with GI doctors. Mine sucks too. I hope they can figure something out for you that works and is safe. Best of luck❤ Btw I love your book recommendations, keep them coming!! I am almost done with the a Good Girl’s guide to murder series. I got them after watching your video. And side note, if you’re looking for more books, I recommend you read The Perfect Marriage and The Girl on the Train (the book is WAY better than the movie, I liked it 10x more).
Thank you and aww yay I’m so glad you love the book recommendations! That is seriously my favorite series ever and I think I’ve seen those books before I will have to try them out!
I think I know something that might help you if you haven't tried already. Maybe trying Trulance or exlax with the motegrity might work? Exlax is a stimulant like motegrity and Trulance is kind of like linzess. Maybe not as harsh? That would be a good alternative if your doctor okays it.
I was on trulance awhile back on its own and that didn’t really work for me but maybe with Motegrity there is a chance. I’m not sure I will have to speak with my doctor about it!
I couldn't get Granisetron approved but it's the only anti-nausea that keeps me out of the hospital. So now I pay $92 a month out of pocket . I could never get Motegrity or Symproic approved so I live on Miralax and Dulcolax and that only works half the time. I'm having an endoscopy with Botox on the 31st and they haven't gotten the Botox approved so they plan to bill me $1000. I'm at the point where I don't even care because they can send it to collections but since I'm on disability, they can't really do anything. Frustration times 10.
I wanna shared this out cus some the ppl out there don't think insurance can be this hard to deal with and u still have to cover some items myself also anyone who need griplock tape I have some I didn't end up using if u need lemme know
I recently commented on one of your older videos on this topic that you probably dint read on me and Motegrity. Im on Motegrity and Miralax currently and was curious if you tried it. This video today answered my questions on it and im happy to hear you had good result on Motegrity as i have too recently and i wanted to share my finding with someone. Have you asked if you can take Miralax instead of linzess safely? Or maybe Amitiza or Trulance with Motegrity? My doctor dint mention any harm with Motegrity and linzess. weird. Motegrity is a very good GP medication. Alternatively Zelnorm is very VERY similar to Motegrity as it works on the same 5-HT4 receptor and i'd argue its the best medication for Gastroparisis that i have found so it might be worth asking if you could try that combination instead with Linzess. Im male so they wont longer prescribe me Zelnorm as they once did years ago. Anyway... I know we had talked a while ago and you had said you taken zelnorm in the past and it dint work but i wonder if you tried it with Linzess as you did with Motegrity. The Key is taking Motegrity/Zelnorm with in lack of better words some sort of stool softener. and what i mean by "Stool softner = Miralax, Linzess, Trulance, Amitiza" Motegrity/Zelnorm helps move everything through your system and then the stool softeners will help keep everything soft and wash it all out and easy to go. The Problem you might "will" run into With just taking Motegrity alone is your stool will become hard. Taking too high of a dose of Motegrity will also cause your stool to become hard. Which is why i have to take it with Miralax or with something that softens stool or puts fluid into my intestines. This is probably why you had good results with motegrity + Linzess. Even if you're drinking enough water and having a bowl movement everyday taking just Motegrity will cause hard stool and constipation due to the hard stool. And if your stool hardens you might start feeling sharp pains when taking Motegrity as its now moving that hard stool along inside you. So i would be cautious of this. Miralax, Linzess, Trulance, Amitiza All work by increasing fluid into your intestines/bowls in some way or another. These are the 4 medication that where given to me to try with Motegrity. Alone they dont help but when taking with Motegrity so far Miralax has helped. Next i will try Amitiza since it was my old combination of medication that i use to take that helped. I hope you can find another alternative to Linzess.

I have OptionCare, and I loooooove them. I’ve had them since March and they’ve been so prompt on changes and needs.
Yay I’m so happy to hear that!
