- Hi friends! I was not looking forward going into this test (anorectal manometry) so I thought I would film as much as I could for you and walk you through it just in case you might have to take this test in the future!
Test like these are so nerve wracking and they can really make you feel alone and embarrassed so I wanted to make a video showing of me going through it so you know you're not alone and that it really isn't to embarrassing! You got this!

i really hope you read this. I’m so sorry what you have to go through. I had SMAS Syndrome and a surgery. I kept throwing up after the surgery and doctors thought it was Gastroparesis but they intervened me with Thiamine and my symptoms improved so significantly. After having intense unexplained Nausea and Severe Cyclic Vomiting for 2 weeks after SMAS surgery my symptoms almost all vanished in 30 mins
That test sounds so uncomfortable! You did great describing everything that happened during the test. Your cat is adorable!

Good for you for encouraging others and making them less scared of the unknown. Omg girl…you had me rotflmao. My only experience with this test did not go well. I had an internal hemmeroid. This was when you and I were both at mayo. The enema caused issues with bleeding. When I went for the test I bled so bad she freaked out and sent me to mayo ER. LOL so really I never made it through that test. You win. Hah!

I found your channel after searching for information on defecography (yay). This video and the defecography video were really helpful to me and made me feel like I can go through with the tests I need. I honestly might not have otherwise. Thank you for sharing! I have Crohn’s, gastroparesis, chronic fatigue syndrome, and some other things. I used to have a GJ tube and central line, too.
Sounds intense. So glad it’s over for you. Hopefully you don’t have to do anymore interesting tests in the near future. ❤

Wow Kenna, sweetheart you go through so much but your still smiling, I’m so happy that you went through with the test, especially with the pain your having. A You Tuber called HOSPITAL PRINCESS CHEYANNE PERRY. Also had the same test her mom recorded it so if anyone wants to watch]. However Kenna you explained it all so eloquently it was enough for me, so thank you 👍. I have Chronic Pancreatitis, plus other diagnosis. Girl, you on the floor with the enema, I felt that in my soul! I find myself there frequently lol and this test is not great, it's one of my least favorites too. I mean we kind of dislike most of them lol. I imagine you have already been tested for this, but just in case, have you been evaluated for Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth or Fungal overgrowth? When mine flairs up I become so distended, 2-3x my normal bloat, constipation worsens and so does my pain. I'm hoping that with the results of your latest test they can find some answers and create a plan that is effective for your pain. Congratulations on the successful sweatshirt launch!! Sorry this about to get dark im having severe constipation pain and I'm feed up with it my thoughts right now are really dark 10 years of pain and suffering from constipation
Literally the most uncomfortable test 😭😭 I have to get another one soon because of my bowel endometriosis and I have to start pelvic floor therapy for the second time for all the endometriosis that was excised off my bladder and pelvic floor.. 😅😅

I thought it was worse than i had prepared for! I had horrifying cramping pains that just made all my other abdominal pain worse. I do not recommend
I got mine done a few weeks ago and it was SOOOO uncomf. The x-ray before it showed that I was literally full of sh*t. 10/10 wouldn't do again but I also have to do a colonoscopy
It is definitely not a fun test
I found that having gas & air really helped with my colonoscopy.
I’m not sure if they do it in all hospitals tho.

@@laoise8134 barely. There was a touch of pain when they were shoving the balloon up for the first time, but the most obvious sensation was simply feeling like you have to poop

You can do this!! I know it's scary, at any point you need them to stop for you to take a few deep breaths or if it hurts, let your nurse know. They know it's rough and they will help you get through it as comfortably as possible. I pray for all the best on your GI journey❤
